No permission for Samaikyandhra meeting: police

The City Police on Friday denied permission to Vishalandhra Mahasabha to organise a workshop-cum-exhibition on the topic of united Andhra Pradesh.

The Vishalandhra Mahasabha has originally planned to conduct two-day worship-cum-exhibition from October 22 at Jubilee Hall, Public Gardens, to highlight the importance of integrated Andhra Pradesh. However, fearing law and order problem, the police has cancelled the permission for the event.

Reacting to denial of police permission, Vishalandhra Mahasabha representative Parakala Prabhakar said that the decision was unfortunate and they were being denied the fundamental right of expression. He said the organisation would approach the Human Rights Commission and will also approach the court against the decision of the City Police.

It may be mentioned that earlier this month the same organisation held a press meet at Somajiguda Press Club asking the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee to exempt educational institutions from the Sakala Janula Samme. However, the press meet was disrupted by some Telangana lawyers. Fearing a similar situation this time, the City Police is learnt to have cancelled the permission. (INN)

However, there was no representation from North Coastal districts and PS Ramulu Nellore district. Only 6 Ministers and 10 MLAs have participated in this meeting, which is meant to chalk out the strategy for Samaikyandhra and to discuss on how to give their representation to Center. Out of the few leaders who attend this meeting, TG Venkatesh has opined that, the ongoing agitations for Telangana cause is only intended to get CM posts to certain Telangana leaders. TP-JAC appeals for consensus over Parakala seat

2012/5/12 7:13:29 Hyderabad, May 12 (INN): Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Saturday stated that either the Telangana Rashtra Samithi or the Bharatiya Janata Party would contest from the Parakala Assembly constituency in the ensuing by-elections.

Talking to media persons at JAC office after emerging out of Steering Committee's meeting at TNGO Bhavan at Nampally, Kodandaram said that the JAC would convene a meeting with both the parties and take a unanimous decision over contest from the Parakala assembly constituency. Stating the people of the region would get a wrong message if both the parties contest from Parakala constituency.

Kodandaram appealed to both parties to relent and come to unanimity over the contest. He said contest by both the parties would result in split of votes and would benefit the Samaikyandhra forces. He said that the JAC would finalise its strategy after convening a meeting with both the TRS and BJP.

The TP-JAC chairman also dismissed reports that the BJP leaders left the Steering committee meeting before it concluded. Responding to the TRS members not turning up for the Steering Committee's meeting, he said that the TRS leaders were busy attending election committee meeting at the same time. However, he said that the TRS has taken prior permission and informed him about their inability to attend the meeting.

Kondandaram also reiterated that all district JACs were following the directives of State JAC orders in letter and spirit.

TDP will hold dharna in Vizianagaram on Monday: Yerran Naidu

2012/4/22 3:12:57 Srikakulam, April 22 (INN): The Telugu Desam Party has announced that it would hold dharna against the liquor syndicate in Vizianagaram on Monday, at any cost.

He warned that the State Government would be responsible for the consequences of preventing TDP's dharna in the district.

Yerran Naidu asked the local police to explain the reasons for denying permission to the TDP to hold protest in the district. He alleged that Pradesh Congress Committee President Botsa Satyanarayana was pressuring the local police to deny permission to TDP's dharna. He said that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu has been the Chief Minister for almost nine years and it was wrong on the part of local police to deny him permission to stage protest.

The TDP leader alleged that the police has been flouting norms by denying permission and in a democratic country everyone was free to hold peaceful protests.

    TRS holds TDP by tongue

2011/7/28 9:05:14 So far, TDP president Chandrababu is very cleverly escaping from entering into Samaikyandhra-Telangana issue with his two-eye policy. TRS also has made several attempts to trap him and his party, demanding to reveal the party stand over the burning issue, but in vain. We have seen how TDP is encouraging both its Telangana and Samaikyandhra leaders to go on with their own plans and agitations as per the local demands, and how its idea is gradually approved by the people. The tremendous response to the recent ‘Bus-Yatra’ by TTDP leaders and the Samaikyandhra meetings held by Seemandhra TDP leaders in Guntur is a fine example for it.

While, everything seems to going smooth with two-eye policy, senior TDP leader Yanamala Rama Krishnudu’s statement gave a chance to TRS to hold TDP by its tongue. He said ‘the basic policy of TDP is Samaikyandhra only.’ Though, his statement is a small and appears unimportant, TRS grab this point and demands the TTDP leaders especially the senior TTDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao to insist their boss Chandrababu to condemn the statement, otherwise they will consider it as an official statement of TDP made on Chandrababu behalf and boycotts the TDP all over Telangana region.

However, TDP not yet responds to TRS demand.

Rajkumari was prevented by the police when she tried to stage dharna in front of Mahatma Gandhi's statue in the Legislative Assembly premises in protest against denial of permission to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu to hold protest in Vizianagaram. Assembly Secretary S Raja Sadaram also denied her permission to stage protest in the assembly premises.

In protest against denial of permission, Rajkumari squatted on the main road before the Legislative Assembly raising slogans against the State Government. She told reporters that denying permission to Chandrababu Naidu to hold protest in Vizianagaram district was against the democracy.

The TDP MLC demanded that Transport Minister Botsa Satyanaryana and Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana resign from the State Cabinet for their alleged involvement in the liquor syndicate. She said if the duo fails to resign, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy should drop them from the cabinet. Else, Governor ESL Narasimhan should intervene and take action against them, she demanded.

Rajkumari continued her dharna for about three hours which consequently led to her arrest by the City Police. She was later shifted to the Saifabad Police Station.

Lagadapati meeting with Konda Lakshman Bapuji

2011/8/12 22:21:14 The TRS and its allies were quite shocked to see Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Raja Gopal having an hour long meeting with the 96 year old freedom fighter Konda Lakshman Bapuji who recently formed a new TJAC in his leadership.

Lagadapati met him at Hyderabad on Friday evening and had an hour long meeting with him. Later, speaking to media he said he has handed over the copy of the Samaikyandhra report that was given to Gulamnabi Azad recently during their discussions with him. He said both of they have agreed that the Telangana problem can be resolved only with discussions. Hence, he has invited the grand old man to Vijayawada to create a friendly atmosphere for starting the discussions on the Telangana issue. Lagadapati said, he has never tried to hurt the feelings of the Telangana people, but he differs with their opinion over bifurcation of the state.

However, the pro Telangana leaders are not ready to believe his words. They are suspicious about his meeting with KLB and thinks he is planning a new conspiracy with this meeting.
