PM need not take permission to visit Telangana: Ponguleti
All India Congress Committee secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar on Friday said that there was no need for Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to take anybody’s permission to visit Telangana region.
Talking to media persons here, Sudhakar condemned the statements of Bharatiya Janata Party state president G Kishen Reddy and Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Kodandaram that Prime Minister should not visit Telangana without making his stand clear on the statehood issue.
Describing their statements as ‘unwarranted and unfortunate’, he said that anybody could visit any place in the country and there was no need for taking permission from anybody in this regard.
“The Constitution of India has provided freedom to all citizens to visit any place in the country and no one can raise objection,” he pointed out.
Stressing that the Centre would take a ‘favourable decision’ on Telangana issue, he said that leaders of the region should observe restraint till the emergence of clear decision.
He demanded that the government should order probe against Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for his involvement in Emaar scam.
He took a serious note of Y S R Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy seeking narco test on CBI Joint Director Lakshminarayana instead of Jagathi Publications vice-chairman Vijay Sai Reddy. He asked as to why Jagan Mohan Reddy, who claimed he was ready for any kind of probe, was afraid of a CBI inquiry. Instead of facing the probe boldly, he said Jagan was trying to damage the image of the prime probing agency by issuing baseless statements against it. (INN)

2012/5/3 6:39:12 Hyderabad, May 3 (INN): AICC secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy on Thursday came down heavily on Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao for criticizing Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Telangana issue.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, Ponguleti raised serious objection over KCR describing Sonia Gandhi as 'devil' and sought his unconditional apology from him. Demanding KCR to withdraw his remarks against Sonia Gandhi, he took serious note on KCR for using foul language against the national leaders.
Advising KCR to have control on his words, he warned him of serious consequences if he did not stop using 'vulgar' language. Stating that the formation of separate State was delayed mainly due to the attitude of KCR, he accused him of misusing the agitation for his selfish gains and to strengthen his family.
Ponguleti also condemned KCR for calling people of the region to grill elected representatives on the Telangana statehood issue. Stating that Congress party was committed for the formation of Telangana State, he said that the government would resolve the issue soon.

Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party office, he attributed the delay in formation of Telangana State to KCR's style of functioning. He alleged that KCR has misused the statehood agitation for his personal gains and to get political posts for his family members. If he has any commitment towards Telangana State and wants to prevent suicides in the region, he said that KCR should support the agitation of Telangana Congress MPs in New Delhi.
Asking KCR to stop the blame game and targeting of leaders, he appealed to KCR to take forward the agitation by sinking all differences by collectively under one common platform.
Ponguleti slammed the BJP for targeting Gandhi family despite the court giving clean chit in the Bofors scandal. He asked the BJP, which always targets Congress party on corruption issue, to explain to the people about conviction of BJP senior leader Bangaru Laxman in fake arms deal case by a Delhi court.
Errabelli has no moral right to target Sonia: Ponguleti
2011/8/12 9:00:18 All India Congress Committee secretary Ponguleti Sudhakar has condemned the allegation of Telugu Desam Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao as baseless and misleading and said that the Telugu Desam has no moral right to target the Congress party.
Speaking to media persons on Friday at Assembly premises Ponguleti Sudhakar termed the remarks as baseless and far from truth.
It may be recalled that Errabelly had said that the Congress and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti hatched a conspiracy to delay the formation of Telangana state.
Ponguleti Sudhakar blamed that the Telugu Desam for the present political uncertainty in the state.
Stating that Telugu Desam has no moral right to target the Congress party, he advised Errabelli Dayakar to make its party stand clear on the Telangana.
He also took serious exception over the comments made by Y S Vivekananda Reddy that Congress president Sonia Gandhi and state government conspired to foist false cases against Jagan.
I dont understand why Vivekananda Reddy making such serious remarks against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, he stated.
He thanked the state government and the Centre for repealing clause 14F of the Presidential Orders of 1975.
He also appealed to Samaikyaandhra leaders not to file any petition in the courts objecting the Presidential assent.

2011/10/8 5:30:25 All India Congress Committee secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar on Saturday demanded that the state government immediately release salaries for all employees, who participated in the general strike of employees supporting the Telangana statehood agitation.
Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party office, Ponguleti said that the government employees have been participating in the statehood agitation due to certain conditions prevailing in the region. He appealed to government to release salaries for employees considering their pathetic condition and festival season.
The AICC secretary also appealed to the employees to withdraw their agitation in view of the Deepawali festival as it may cause lot of inconvenience to the general public. He urged government to lift all the police cases foisted against the employees, who participated in the statehood agitation.

Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office, Ponguleti Sudhakar said there was no truth in the allegation and Chiranjeevi merged his party after looking at the Congress government's policies and Sonia Gandhi's leadership skills. He said Ambati Rambabu was issuing such baseless statements in order to get cheat publicity. He said Ambati Rambabu, who is supporting corrupt Jagan Mohan Reddy has no moral right to talk on Chiranjeevi, a non-controversial person.
There is no need for Chiranjeevi to sell his MLAs and the Congress party would never resort to such tactics, he said. He asked Ambati Rambabu as to how many crores he earned illegally as the chairman of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation. He said the MLAs Jayasudha, K Satyavathi and Konda Surekha have not submitted their resignations in support of Jagan and their resignations were linked with separate Telangana issue.

2011/7/13 8:53:38 Suspended Telugu Desam Party leader from Telangana Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Wednesday alleged that Hyderabad Police Commissioner AK Khan has violated the rights of elected people representatives by not allowing them to visit the venue of hunger fast staged by Osmania University students at Arts College in the campus.
Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, Mr Janardhan Reddy condemned the attitude of the city Police Chief in arresting the elected representatives who had tried to visit the students hunger fast camp without permission.
He advised Mr Khan to change his attitude and stop arresting peoples representatives.
The senior politician also questioned why Mr Khan was resorting to forcible arrests when the elected representatives wanted to visit the hunger fast camp of students in Osmania University and why permission was denied to them in the first place.

2011/10/11 5:26:10 Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao has cancelled his visit to the national capital which was scheduled to begin from Tuesday.
According to party sources, KCR's visit to New Delhi has been cancelled in view of latest developments in the State capital of Hyderabad. The announcement of withdrawal of strike by one of the RTC Employees' unions and arrests of several Telangana leaders across the region since Monday has reportedly forced KCR to cancel his New Delhi's visit. "He will stay in Hyderabad to monitor and intensify the Telangana agitation," a TRS leader said.
During his last visit to New Delhi early this month, KCR has met several national leaders including Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to press for the demand for formation of Telangana State. However, he could not meet Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P Chidambaram and Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who were engaged in consultation process to resolve the Telangana issue.
KCR was planning to meet these leaders during New Delhi's visit this time. However, in view of changed circumstances in Hyderabad, he was forced to cancel the visit. The TRS has not specified when KCR will visit the national capital again. (INN)
TDP only responsible for unrest in the state: P Sudhakar
2011/7/29 4:20:18 Condemning the allegations of TDP Politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu that the Congress party president Sonia Gandhi was responsible for unrest in the state, All India Congress Committee secretary Ponguleti Sudhakar said that the Telugu Desam Partys ambivalent attitude is responsible for it.
Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office on Friday Ponguleti Sudhakar said that the TDP Telangana Forum members can only respond to such statements. Yanamala also claimed that the party is committed to the resolution on Telangana adopted during Mahanadu- 2011 and not to the letter submitted to Pranab Mukerjee in 2008.
P. Sudhakar further said that when the Congress is making efforts to solve the problem, a section of Girijans (tribals) in the state demanded formation of a tribal state.
However, I will never find a fault in raising tribal state with capital of Bhadrachalam in Khammam district, he stated and asked as to why the tribals have raised this issue when the high command is trying to solve T state imbroglio.

2012/4/13 3:55:26 Former member of Rajya Sabha K Kesava Rao on Friday said that no one could obstruct the Telangana leaders' visit to New Delhi for the Telangana statehood demand.
Talking to media persons at Pachayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy's residence, Kesava Rao said that the Telangana leaders were not so weak that they could be threatened by other leaders over their visit to the national capital. “We are ready to go to New Delhi anytime to discuss with the High Command over the Telangana issue and no one can threaten us over our visit,” he said.
“We have already made it clear to the high command that except for Telangana we won't agree for anything else. The Telangana leaders are neither ready to accept any financial packages nor councils for the development of backward regions. We don’t even want any posts,” he said.
Senior leader and MLC K R Amos said the Telangana Ministers and leaders have decided to go to New Delhi despite Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's appeal to them to participate in the Prajapatham programme in the State. He said that the leaders from Telangana would sit together on April 24 to discuss New Delhi's visit and plan a future strategy to achieve statehood for the Telangana region.

No permission for Yadireddys funeral procession, TPJAC calls for bandh on 22Jul
2011/7/21 9:56:19 Telangana Political Joint Action Committee has called for Telangana Bandh on July 22, for violation of Telangana Martyrs rights and for imposing Essential Services Maintenance Act on the Telangana employees, who are going for strike from August 1.
According a statement released to media, the TPJAC called for Telangana Bandh in protest against government fascist attitude and for violating the employees rights.
The TPJACs allegation that the government has violated the rights of Telangana Martyrs came in light of reports that the state government has refused permission to take the body of Yadireddy, who committed suicide for the cause of Telangana in New Delhi, in a procession in Hyderabad.
The statement said that Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Telangana Congress, Telugu Desam Telangana Forum, Telangana Peoples Front and breakaway group of Telugu Desam headed by Nagam Janardhan Reddy have extended full support to the Telangana Bandh.

Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office here on Friday, Ponguleti said that the left parties leaders including Prakash Karat, Brinda Karat, K Narayana and BV Raghuvulu have made statements targeting the Congress party while linking it with the scams. He said the left parties should check their own credentials before commenting about the Congress.

2012/5/22 4:08:54 Hyderabad, May 22 (INN): AICC secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar on Tuesday said that some vested elements have launched malicious campaign against the Congress party to defeat it in the ensuing by-elections.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, Ponguleti Sudhakar called upon party rank and file to teach a fitting lesson to those 'vested elements' by defeating them in the by-elections. Stating that he had visited Tirupati and Nellore constituencies as part of election campaign, he said that there has been an improvement in the morale of party leaders compared to previous elections.
Ponguleti expressed confidence that the Congress candidates would win with a huge majority in the by-elections. He advised the party leaders to popularize the government's welfare schemes and programmes and seek votes on the performance of government. He condemned the TDP, TRS and YSR Congress party leaders for leveling baseless charges against the Congress party to tarnish its image and to get mileage in the by-elections.

2012/4/30 7:17:48 Hyderabad, April 30 (INN): Backward Classes Welfare Minister Basvaraj Saraiah on Monday announced that all ministers from the Telangana region would soon visit New Delhi to mount pressure on the Congress High Command for an early and favourable decision on Telangana statehood issue.
Talking to reporters at the State Secretariat, Saraiah said that there were no difference among the Congress leaders of Telangana region. He said the MPs, MLAs or ministers were working together to achieve statehood for the region. He also denied reports that appeared in a section of media that ministers from the Telangana region were divided on the issue of statehood issue. He said all the leaders from the region would work unitedly to achieve Telangana State.
Sariah said that all ministers from the Telangana region would visit the national capital to mount pressure on the Centre over Telangana issue. However, he did not give a deadline for the same.

2011/10/21 7:26:53 The City Police on Friday denied permission to Vishalandhra Mahasabha to organise a workshop-cum-exhibition on the topic of united Andhra Pradesh.
The Vishalandhra Mahasabha has originally planned to conduct two-day worship-cum-exhibition from October 22 at Jubilee Hall, Public Gardens, to highlight the importance of integrated Andhra Pradesh. However, fearing law and order problem, the police has cancelled the permission for the event.
Reacting to denial of police permission, Vishalandhra Mahasabha representative Parakala Prabhakar said that the decision was unfortunate and they were being denied the fundamental right of expression. He said the organisation would approach the Human Rights Commission and will also approach the court against the decision of the City Police.
It may be mentioned that earlier this month the same organisation held a press meet at Somajiguda Press Club asking the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee to exempt educational institutions from the Sakala Janula Samme. However, the press meet was disrupted by some Telangana lawyers. Fearing a similar situation this time, the City Police is learnt to have cancelled the permission. (INN)
2011/7/12 9:03:28 Telangana Peoples Front president and Balladeer Gaddar on Tuesday stated that he would launch a hunger strike along with Telangana workers in the second week of August in New Delhi to press for the introduction of Telangana Bill in Monsoon Session of Parliament.
Talking to media persons at Madina Education Centre, Nampally, Gaddar said that he would sit on a hunger fast along with 100 Telangana activists from various peoples organisations.
He said the fast was aimed to take the Telangana statehood agitation to a National level.
Gaddar added that the leaders from Telangana are not in a position to believe the Centres statements any more as they were becoming more and more contradictory.
The Centre must honour the statement made by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9, 2009, the Balladeer said.
He advised the Telangana political Joint Action Committee chairman M Kodandaram to make concerted efforts for bringing all the disparate groups which have sprung up on one platform to achieve Telangana statehood.
Earlier, the Balladeer filed a petition before the State Human Rights Commission, seeking it to direct the police to give permission to him to visit the students who are on hunger fast at Arts College in Osmania University.(INN)
