YS Vivekananda Reddy the uncle of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called on his nephew this morning. Viveka took oath as minister much against the wishes of Jagan.
Jagan wanted Viveka to have no truck with the congress after the party insulted him and the family.
Viveka met Jagan for a few minutes. It is not clear as to what transpired between them. Viveka told the waiting media that there were no differences in the family.
When YS Vivekandanda Reddy called on his nephew Jagan he faced some embarrassing moments.
The supporters of Jagan raised slogans against Viveka the moment he stepped out of Jagan’s house and asked him to quit his minister post.
They also tried to prevent him from leaving by obstructing the passage of his car. An angry Viveka warned the slogan shouting supporters and even twirled his moustache to send a clear signal that he is ready to take on the supporters of Jagan.
YS Jagan said that the media reports of a bitter war of words between his uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy and him are not correct.
Jagan admitted that there were differences between him and his uncle but he still considers him a family member.
Jagan said that he loves his uncle very much and despite his difference of opinion on continuing in the congress he will not hold any ill will against his uncle.
Agriculture minister YS Vivekananda Reddy who is now getting ready to contest the Pulivednula assembly seat is not very sure about his victory.
Viveka said that it was not easy for the congress party to win in Pulivendula and Kadapa. Viveka in a way has acknowledged that YS Jagan is a real force in Kadapa and the congress may not be able to match up to him in charisma and garner votes.
Viveka is also making efforts to get the party ticket for his son-in-law for the Kadapa parliamentary seat to fight against YS Jagan.
2011/5/13 23:19:36 YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy has stated that, he is the first person who feels very sad for the defeat of his uncle YS.Vivekananda Reddy, because they both belong to one family. Jagan said that, if his uncle Vivekananda Reddy wants to join his party he welcomes him whole heartedly and ready to offer him the deserved post.
However, there is no response from YS.Vivekananda Reddy, because he thinks otherwise. He is interested to bring Jagan back into Congress fold rather than joining his party. But, Jagan who already floated a political party and is determined to teach a lesson to Congress party can’t be expected to join it anyway. Hence, it is Vivekananda Reddy who need to think about the scope of joining YSRC party.
The family politics in the YS family seem to be getting murkier. YS Vivekananda Reddy who took on Jagan and became minister is now all set to make the family fight even bitterer.
Viveka is said to have decided to field his daughter to contest against nephew YS Jagan for the Kadapa parliamentary elections. The seat fell vacant after Jagan quit as MP.
2010/12/25 4:59:32 Though they parted ways, the minister for agriculture, Mr Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, and former Kadapa MP, Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, came together on the eve of a Christmas at the residence of YSR’s close relative, Mr C.V. Subba Reddy, in Pulivendula of Kadapa district on Friday.
Speculations were rife that there was a pact between the two. However, sources said that they only participated in prayers. It is reported that Mr Subba Reddy invited them to his residence and was obliged by both the families.
Earlier, he even expressed his readiness to take on Mr Jagan in the ensuing bypolls in Pulivendula constituency. Mr Viveka’s wife Soubhagyamma and daughter Sunita Reddy paid tributes to YSR at his ghat in Idupulapaya and had lunch with Jagan’s family members.
The supporters of YS Jagan gave some anxious moments to the police as well as officials when they tried to stop YS Vivekananda Reddy from visiting Kanchikacherla mandal in Krishna district.
The supports of Jagan questioned Viveka and minister Parthasarathy as to why they were undertaking the visit without informing the consistency in charge of the party Vasantha Krishnaprasad.
YS Vivekandanda Reddy till the other day had been claiming that he is winning in Pulivendula. He also claimed that he will win with a comfortable margin.
The results are a big shock for him. Viveka was never in the race from the first round. Viveka has been trailing in all the rounds. What is worse is that he was unable to even put up a stiff fight.
Vijayamma is now set to win with a record margin. She is now ahead with a majority of 52,000 votes. Viveka has left the counting center after the first round and he is now incommunicado.
2011/2/15 21:32:24 The latest development from Jagan’s end is that, he had a meeting with all his family members on Tuesday at Pulivendhula, where he told them if they could convince his ‘Babai’(uncle) YS Vivekananda Reddy to leave the Congress party and to join his newly launching political party, he is ready to offer him the deserved post.
He made it clear that, he didn’t have any personal differences with him and have high regards for him in his heart. Jagan told his family members that, it is his Babai who left him and not him. He told them that, Vivekananda Reddy continuing in the Congress party is not advisable as he is facing an embarrassing situation while his colleagues are engaged in defaming his own brother late YSR. He suggested that, instead he would reunite with his own family members to give a fitting reply to the evil Congress leaders. This might be considered as the last call for his Babai Viveka from Jagan. Let’s see where and how it will ends up.
YS Vivekananda Reddy the congress party candidate from the Pulivendula assembly seat expressed confidence that he will win the election. Viveka is contesting against Vijayamma wife of late YS Rajashekar Reddy.
Viveka said that there was large scale cross voting in his favor and he is confident of victory.
With the polling in Kadapa and Pulivendula now over the attention of everyone has now shifted to the result.
While we have to wait until May 13 to know the result, the various informal surveys and general talk in Kadapa and elsewhere is that Jagan and Vijayamma are sure shot winners.
There is no doubt whatsoever in anyone’s mind about the result. The only interest now is the margin of victory. Many people in Kadapa say that there is no chance of DL Ravindra Reddy even retaining his deposit. The same is being cited about YS Vivekananda Reddy.
The ugly fracas in the Assembly is turning into a major embarrassment for the government. Chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is under pressure from TDP and other members to take action against YS Vivekananda Reddy.
Some reports say that YS Vivekananada Reddy has decided to submit his resignation. His term as MLC is also ending on Tuesday.
With no congressman coming to his rescue, Viveka is now seriously mulling about continuing in the congress.
He may now side with Jagan and this will surely be a big boost to the YSR Congress.
2011/8/11 10:26:57 YS.Vivekananda Reddy, who contested against his sister-in-law YS.Vijaya Lakshmi in Pulivendhula constituency but was defeated by her during the recent bye-elections, has been maintaining silence until now. But, he suddenly appears beside his nephew YS. Jagan Mohan Reddy while he is unveiling the statue of late YSR at Pulivendhula during his tour in Kadapa district. It is indeed a pleasant surprise for Jagan to see his uncle standing beside him after a long time. Not only that, Vivekananda Reddy also flayed the Congress leaders for trying to tarnish his brother late YSR’s image. He said whatever, he did was for the sake of the poor people and it was not an individual decision but a collective decision taken by the whole cabinet. Vivekananda Reddy also said that people and the god only know that his brother late YSR is honest and was not involved in any illegal affairs.
If, his gesture is considered to be a change in his attitude favorable towards YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy then it will undoubtedly make some difference for Congress party in the state.
The YSR Congress party chief YS Jagan called on the MIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi at the Care hospital today.
Jagan had suspended his campaign in Kadapa as soon as he heard about the attack on Akbaruddin. Jagan rushed to Hyderabad to visit the leader who is now undergoing treatment.

The family war between YS Vivekananda Reddy and YS Jagan continues. Vivekananda Reddy created a flutter when he announced that he was joining the cabinet of Kiran Kumar Reddy and also that he would bring Jagan to Sonia and make him apologize to her.
Jagan is now in Idupulapaya after quitting the congress. Vivekananda Reddy met him but the meeting was brief. Later Vivekananda Reddy announced that he will remain in the congress. He so said that if a minister post as offered to him he would accept it.
2011/5/18 7:27:15 YS.Vivekananda Reddy who was at New Delhi to give explanation to party high command for his defeat in the by-elections, responding to Jagan’s statement in which he expressed his sympathy for his defeat has said “I don’t need his sympathy. Every one knows that, Jagan and his mother won the elections because of the sympathy-votes only. Hence, I don’t need his sympathy. I am also not interested to join his party even if he offers president post of his party. I will continue in Congress party forever.”

The newly christened congress leader Chiranjeevi is now campaigning in Kadapa. He is getting good crowds but it remains to be seen how many of them translate into votes.
Chiranjeevi was greeted with protests and slogans at some places. Eggs and tomatoes were thrown at him. At one place, some youngsters in the crowd even tried to hurl chappals at him but they did not hit him.
Chiranjeevi who was clearly embarrassed and shocked by the incidents called Jagan a rowdy. He said that if Jagan wins in Kadapa then there will be large scale rowdyism in the state.
