Ranbir, who is the brand ambassador of Pepsi, has donated the KBC prize money to the Community Water Initiatives, a charity owned by PepsiCo India.
"Water is a resource that we all take for granted. We should be more conscious of the importance of water and do our bit to conserve it. I try and save water wherever I can," said Ranbir.
"Simple things make a lot of difference like using a mug for shaving and a bucket to take a bath instead of a running shower. As individuals we cannot save more water than we use but can save enough to feel positive. I feel water-positive and invite all my fans to do as well. Do your bit by saving water where you can," he added.
2011/10/4 8:26:18 The Rajendera Nagar police on Tuesday solved the mytery behind the murder of a woman Geetha and her 13-year-old son Chandu. However, it turned out to be a triple murder as Geetha's husband Yadaiah was also found murdered on Monday.
According to police, Yadaiah's body was found in a water tank behind the Rajendernagar MRO office on Monday. His body bore marks of injuries inflicted with sharp edged weapons. A heavy stone was tied to the body before it was thrown into the tank.
Earlier on October 1, 35-year-old Geetha and her 13-year-old son Chandu were found murdered at their house in Manikyamma Nagar Colony. After being informed about the local residents foul smell was emanating from a house which was locked from outside, the police broke open the lock and found their dead bodies. This comes as a bit of a shock. Vivek Oberoi the hero in the Ram Gopal Varma biopic Rakta Charitra is getting married today. He is marrying his beau Priyanaka Alva. She is the daughter of former minister of Karnataka Jeevaraj Alva.
The wedding is being held in Bengaluru. While Vivek has invited many people from Tollywood and Bollywood, he has not invited Ram Gopal Varma.
This is indeed shocking. This has been confirmed by none other than RGV himself. He said that if only he had got the invite he would definitely have attended Vivek’s wedding.
Any guesses as to why Vivek forgot or chose not to invite RGV for his marriage.
Post the release of NAKSHA, Vivek Oberoi may have been lying low on the Bollywood front. But in the recent Lakme Fashion week, he made quite a fashion statement. He looked very 'IN' with a shiney tie thrown over a shirt that had fashion critics raving about him.
Even designer Nandita Mahtani & film maker Karan Johar complimented Viveik on his fashion statement, which is the look of the season.
Increasingly Vivek has been making a fashion statement like SRK. This is a far cry from the days when Vivek was careless with his dressing style.
Just like SRK in his earlier avtar, even Vivek did not pay heed to dressing up fashionably. But right now, not only is he up in the fashion quotient, he has also been working out on his physique.
While the lady for whom they fought in the first place is now set to marry another man, Salman Khan and Vivek Oberoi still continue to be on unfriendly terms.
The Salman-Vivek cold war has now been continuing for nearly four years. Things got sour between them when Vivek called a press conference in 2003 and alleged that Salman made threatening phone calls to him. The two had a spat over actress Aishwarya Rai .
Since then, Ash has moved on into a new relationship, but the Salman-Vivek animosity is still where it was back then.
An olive branch was extended by Vivek to Salman last year when the latter was locked in a Jodhpur jail. Vivek had then visited Salman’s family, met his father and expressed concern over the health of Salman’s ailing mother. But Salman did not reciprocate this gesture by Vivek.
And now we learn that the two actors are shooting in Dubai for their movies Partner (starring Salman) and Fool And Final (starring Vivek and Arbaaz).
Reports have it that Vivek is getting cold vibes even from Arbaaz Khan (Salman’s brother) despite the fact that the two are acting together in Ahmed Khan’s movie.
There was also an instance when Salman shot for David Dhawan’s ‘Partner’ in the same hotel where Vivek has been staying, but none of the two actors made an attempt to bury the hatchet.
It appears that some third party may have to mediate to end this cold war.
Mahesh Babu’s punch dialogue ‘Evadu kodithe dimma tirigi mind block avutundo…’ from the film Pokiri is well known to everyone. Now Puri Jagannath is reported to have come up with similar punch dialogue in the film ‘The Businessman’.
The dialogue goes like this ‘Naa Gun ki license vundi… Nee prananiki insurance ledu…’ The film is a total action thriller and Mahesh Babu is playing a contract killer. The film is set against a mafia backdrop. The Businessman will hit the screens on January 11.
He might be known for his various get ups and powerful dialogue delivery on screen, but the veteran actor recently got the taste of his own medicine in the Salman Khan-starrer Marigold , where Gulshan Grover doesn't have a single dialogue in the film.
"Can you imagine someone who is known for his dialogue delivery doesn't have a single dialogue in the film? The only dialogue in the film I have is 'NO' .
Director Willard Caroll wanted me to be silent throughout the film, but Salman wanted me to say something and that's why I just say 'No' towards the end of the film," laughs Gulshan.
Now the big question is, should his fans see the film for this one dialogue or 'No' ?
Vivek Oberoi gets angry over question about Salman Khan!
2010/9/19 3:12:13
Actor Vivek Oberoi has been glowing with jubilation as the days pass by and his wedding (October 29) with Priyanka Alva comes closer. But while giving promotional interviews for his upcoming film Rakta Charitra, Vivek saw red and got angry over a question about Salman Khan.
Vivek was happily giving the interview when the TV reporter suddenly asked him a question that left the actor stumped.
The reporter asked if Vivek would invite Salman Khan to his wedding. The question clearly didn’t please Vivek.
What next? From what we hear, Vivek stopped the interview there and then and asked the reporter to apologize for the insensitive question. When the reporter didn’t, Vivek walked out, leaving everyone in disbelief.
In the past, Vivek has handled questions about Salman quite gracefully. But this time, with all the positive vibes about his wedding and upcoming film, the question about his arch foe clearly didn’t please him.
It's a rarity to find same artistes repeated in a Rajini film.
Only a fortunate few like Senthil, Vinu Chakravarthy, Janakaraj and Nasser have had this good fortune and now Vivek joins the list.
In 'Sivaji' Vivek spouted punch dialogues instead of Rajini. He now acts in 'Kuchelan' too. In the film, Pasupathy has many friends and Vivek is expected to be the most prominent of them, according to some. Others say he is supposed to play Rajini's pal in the film.
Whichever is true, one thing for sure is that Vivek is in the film.
Vadivelu was supposed to be the one staring in 'Kuchelan,' and suddenly we hear it is Vivek. This has raised a lot of questions in Kodambakkam.

Advising the Telangana Congress leaders not take any drastic decisions, he asked them to maintain restraint and patience over the issue.
“The decision on Telangana needs unanimity, not only on the state level but also on the national level as it is linked to other states also,” Mr Azad stated.
“The problem cannot be solved through resignations. We can find solution to this problem only through dialogue,” the Union Health Minister stated and added the Centre would invite all-parties for convention in New Delhi soon to find a solution to Telangana.
The High Command’s representative also took pains to point out that the Centre would take into account the aspirations of the people of the region and their sentiments before taking any decision on the separate statehood issue.
He said the Congress party has been strengthened in the state with the merger of Praja Rajyam Party and appointment of PCC chief Botsa Satyanarayana.
Reacting on the role of Mr Chiranjeevi, Mr Azad he said that the Prime Minister and the High Command would take a decision on it.
Meanwhile, Seemandhra Forum convenor S Sailajanath submitted a memorandum to Mr Azad, pointing out the advantages of maintaining status quo in the state.
Mr Sailajanath’s memorandum also opposed the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.(INN)
Solli Adippaen, art-director S.A. Ramki’s first venture as producer, was the first film of Vivek as hero. Due to some reasons, the film has still not seen the light though the shooting was completed more than a year ago. Now, the surprising news is that Vivek has been approached to play the lead role in another film!
Vivek is offered to act as the hero again in the next production by ‘Avani Cine Makers’ of Kushboo, which is untitled as on date. Murthy, who earlier directed Gummalam has been roped in as the director.
We only hope Vivek finds success (as a hero) at least in Kushboo’s home production!
Young actor Vivek Oberoi is still paying for his tiff with macho star Salman Khan some years ago. After his confrontation with Salman, Vivek's career has been on the downslide. He does not have any big films in hand and top actresses do not want to be paired with him.
Bollywood sources say that actresses are refusing roles opposite Vivek for fear of getting on the wrong side of Salman.
Apparently realising his faux pas, Vivek has been trying to make peace with Salman but the latter has not reciprocated to his feelers.
Quite recently, Govinda refused to work in Ram Rahim or Romeo starring Vivek and Fardeen Khan.
Industrywallahs say that Govinda and Salman have become thick friends and that could be the reason for the dancing star giving the royal snub to Vivek.
"In fact it was Vivek who suggested Govinda's name for the role," said a source, "The producers then asked Vivek to talk to him."
When Vivek met Govinda, the actorpolitician was in a fix. He said a diplomatic yes and agreed to meet the producers. But when the producers went to meet the star, he sought an astronomical sum which stumped them.
"Govinda knew that he would not get such a big sum and was obviously trying to wriggle out of the project," said the source. "The producers then approached Javed Jaffrey who agreed to do the role."

The chief ministers of Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya and Mizoram too have been invited to visit Bangladesh on the Sep 6-7 trip, a rare move that emphasises the importance of the visit for both countries. (IANS)
Vivek has done it again. The comedian has recently recorded a song for Aayudham Seivom under composer Srikanth Deva’s supervision.
Aayudham Seivom has actor-turned director Sundar C. in the lead role. He is paired with Anjali of Katradhu Thamizh fame. In Aayudham Seivom, directed by debutant Udhayan and produced by Pyramid Saimira Productions, Vivek appears as a traffic constable.
Earlier, Vivek sang in Solli Adipen, in which he was the hero for the first time, under Deva

While recently filming in Macau, the cast of Reliance Entertainment’s ‘Double Dhamaal’ faced some serious water troubles. A particular sequence, which was shot near a port, required Arshad Warsi, Jaaved Jafery, Riteish Deshmukh, and Ashish Chowdhry to get completely drenched in water.
The only problem was that the water in that particular locality was highly dense and infected! The locals too swear by not going inside the water and if done, then they need to get vaccinated immediately.
The scene requirement was such that the boys had to be shown coming out of the water. Director Indra Kumar did not want to risk getting the actors skins exposed to that water. The solution- The crew arranged for a large amount of bottled mineral water!
But what began as splashing water over each other to prepare for the shot, slowly turned into a riot of sorts as the actors, who are very close friends in reality, got into a mischievous mood & began throwing water over each other! “It was a sort of a mini Holi sans the colours” reveals a source from the sets.
Well, if you have such a mad star cast, some ‘Dhamaal’ is surely expected on the sets!
