Protesting the suspension of 11 Telangana Rashtra samithi MLAs from the assembly for pressing for a resolution on Telangana state, the Communist Party of India and Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday staged a walk out from the House.
Later, talking to media persons at Assembly media point, BJP Floor Leader E Lakshminarayana condemned the ruling Congress party, opposition TDP and Speaker Nadendla Manohar for suspending TRS members from the House. Instead of taking steps to introduce Telangana resolution, Lakshminarayana said that the government was dishonouring the promise given to the people of region.
He also came down on the government for not taking action on withdrawing police cases against students and activists, who participated in the statehood agitation.
CPI MLA Sambasivarao also accused the ruling Congress party of cheating the people of region after allying with it in 2004 election on the Telangana issue.
Suspecting the commitment of government, he asked it to explain its position on the Telangana statehood demand in the House. (INN)
2012/4/24 8:07:36 Hyderabad, April 24 (INN): Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Tuesday condemned the suspension of eight Congress MPs from the Lok Sabha for four days for stalling the proceedings over Telangana issue.
Talking to reporters at the State Secretariat, TRS MLA K Tarakarama Rao said that it was unfortunate that the ruling party has suspended its own MPs for raising the Telangana issue in the Parliament. He said if the Congress party continues to treat the Telangana MPs in a similar way, then people would 'suspend' the ruling party in 2014 elections.
However, the Sircilla MLA asked the Congress MPs to spell out their stand on the statehood issue. He said if the Congress MPs fail to clarify their stand clearly, then people would deem that their suspension from the Lok Sabha for four days was a political drama.
2012/2/22 3:28:29 Eleven MLAs of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) were suspended from the State Legislative Assembly for two days for disrupting the proceedings of the House here on Wednesday.
As soon as the House met on Wednesday at 9 am, Telugu Desam Party gave an adjournment seeking discussions on liquor scam. The TRS and BJP wanted the House to introduce Telangana resolution. While the MIM wanted debate on issuing of job notifications in Urdu language, the CPI stressed for discussion on drought situation and CPM wanted the regularization of IKP employees.
However, Speaker Nadendla Manohar's decision to disallow all the adjournment motions led to pandemonium and furore. The Speaker then adjourned the House for half-an-hour.
Similar scenes were witnessed when the House re-assembled at 11.30 am. The TRS members rushed to Speaker's podium demanding Telangana resolution. Having failed to convince the TRS members to resume their seats, the Speaker asked Roads and Buildings Minister Dharmana Prasad to move the resolution for suspension of 11 TRS MLAs for two days. Despite suspension, the TRS MLAs refused to leave the House and were evicted by the marshals.
Later, the BJP and CPI MLAs staged out a walk-out in protest against the suspension of TRS members. (INN)
2011/11/5 5:22:48 Telangana Nagara president Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Saturday criticised the State Government for suspending Deputy Superintendant of Police D Nalini who submitted resignation demanding separate Telangana.
Talking to reporters at the State Secretariat, Nagam said that Nalini's suspension clearly indicates that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was on the footsteps of Kasu Brahamananda Reddy who suppressed the Telangana agitation using force. He alleged that the Chief Minister has been adopting aggressive and extreme methods to deal with the Telangana leaders and activists.
Nagam said that Nalini's suspension citing 'grave misconduct' as the reason was wrong and it was intended to threaten other employees from supporting the Telangana agitation. He demanded that the State Government cancel her suspension with immediate effect. He also promised that Nalini would be reinducted and given a double-promotion after the formation of Telangana state.
The Nagarkurnool MLA said that the Congress party was reportedly trying to form Telangana council led by MLC D Srinivas. He said the Telangana leaders and activists would not agree for anything less than statehood for the region. He said the constitution of councils or commissions would only be viewed as a delay tactics by the Centre. (INN)
2012/2/17 2:04:11 Telangana Rashtra Samithi Deputy Floor Leader T Harish Rao on Friday condemned Speaker Nadendla Manohar’s action of suspending 12 TRS MLAs from the Assembly, who demanded that the government move a resolution on Telangana state in the House.
Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, Harish Rao said that the government instead of responding to Telangana MLAs' demand, it forced the Speaker to suspend the TRS MLAs from the House and violated all democratic rights of elected representatives. “Before hanging a person, the jail officials will ask for last wish of a person. But the Speaker suspended the MLAs without giving a chance for them to explain their position,” he said.
Harish also condemned the silence of Congress MLAs and Ministers when the Speaker was suspending the TRS MLAs from the House. He said that the TRS MLAs are asking the government to make its stand clear on Telangana and when it would move a resolution. Warning the government of serious consequences if it failed to move resolution, he said the people of region would teach a fitting lesson to MLAs and Ministers for betraying the interests and aspirations of people.
The TRS leaders accused the TDP Telangana Forum MLAs of match fixing with the Congress for not attending the Question Hour on Friday.
Condemning the Speaker’s "unilateral action", another TRS MLA Pocharam Srinivas described it as `Black Day’ in the history of assembly session. Terming it as unfortunate, he criticized Minister D Sridhar Babu, who hailed from Telangana region, for moving a resolution of suspending TRS MLAs from the House.
He warned the government of serious consequences if it failed to move a resolution in on-going assembly session. (INN)

Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, he said that although Speaker suspended 11 TRS members from the House, both ruling and opposition parties should make efforts to move a resolution on Telangana state in the House at least now. He said that the TRS would take the suspension of its MLAs before the people and exposes the ruling Congress and TDP stand on the statehood issue.
Etela asked as to why the Congress and TDP were not responding on the statehood issue despite the TRS assurance that it would cooperate with the Speaker to run the House harmoniously.

2012/4/26 7:01:16 Warangal, April 26 (INN): Government chief whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy on Thursday appealed to the Congress High Command to revoke the suspension of eight MPs from the Telangana region.
Talking to media persons, Venkata Ramana Reddy said that Congress party decision to suspend its own MPs from the House has sent wrong message among the people. Appealing to the High Command to lift the suspension immediately, he said that the people were taking an impression that MPs were punished for raising the demand of over four crore people of Telangana.
The Chief Whip said that the MPs disrupted the proceedings in the Lok Sabha only to raise the aspirations of people from their region and there was no other motive.
If the High Command fails to lift the suspension, he said that the people of region would never forgive the Congress and consider it moves as open opposition to Telangana state formation. He also appealed to high command to make efforts for introducing a bill on Telangana in this budget session of parliament.
2012/4/30 8:33:34 Hyderabad, April 30 (INN): Nagarkurnool MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Monday praised the Telangana Congress MPs for risking their political career by raising the statehood issue in the Lok Sabha which consequently led to their suspension for four days.
Talking to reporters in the State Secretariat, Nagam said that the Telangana MPs should continue with their protest and they should not bother even if they were expelled from the party. He said the people in the region would recognise the MPs protest would reward them.
Nagam slammed Rajya Sabha MPs Palwai Govardhan Reddy and Renuka Chowdhary for criticising the Telangana Congress MPs. He said Renuka Chowdhary hails from Andhra region and she was bound to work against the cause of Telangana statehood.
The Nagarkurnool MLA also criticised the members of Telugu Desam Telangana Forum for remaining silent on the suspension of Telangana MPs. He said the forum MLAs were busy preparing for by-elections in Seemandhra region while ignoring the Telangana agitation.
Nagam also warned the Centre that the peaceful and democratic Telangana statehood agitation might turn violent, if suppressed.
2012/2/29 2:54:12 Former minister J C Diwakar Reddy on Wednesday expressed displeasure over Speaker Nadendla Manohar not initiating disqualification proceedings against the Congress MLAs, who switched loyalties to YSR Congress party.
Talking to media persons, Diwakar Reddy said that the Speaker's inaction would encourage the rebel MLAs to go scot free and they would resort to disrespect the House with their actions. 2011/12/5 14:28:37 Congress MLA Kunja Satyavathi on Monday condemned the attitude and style of functioning of YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Satyavathi has returned to the Congress party fold after sailing with the YSR Congress for a few months. Talking to media persons in the assembly lobby, Satyavathi took serious note of suspension of her husband Kunja Dharmana from the post of convenor of Khammam district YSR Congress party. She said that Jagan might have taken this step following her extension of support to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy Government, against whom the TDP has moved No Confidence Motion.
Satyawathi said that she was supporting government as it originally formed by late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. She said that Jagan Mohan Reddy did not consult the MLAs, who are supporting him, in connection with the No Confidence Motion. The acting speaker Nadendla Manohar has suspended the five MLAs who created a ruckus in the assembly yesterday and obstructed the Governor from making his speech.
The five MLAs, Revanth Reddy, Mahendar Reddy and the TRS MLAs Harish Rao, Kaveti Sammaiah and Vidyasagar Rao have bee upended for one week.
The beleaguered Praja Rajyam Party chief Chiranjeevi had called for a meting of his party MLAs to day. The party chief wanted to take his MLAs and meet the chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy.
However the Jagan factor and the poor way in which Chiranjeevi is running the party has made several PRP MLAs to distance themselves from the party.
The meeting called for by Chiranjeevi today was a damp squib as a majority of the MLAs stayed away. Only five of the 17 MLAs attended the meeting.
The Aurangabad bench of Mumbai High Court has abolished the present Trust of Shiridi Sai Samsthan on Tuesday. The court directed Mahrashtra Government to form a new Committee within 15 days or else it should handover the responsibilities to Shiridi district Collector.
The court has taken this decision reacting to a petition filed by BJP Shiridi district leader Rajendra Godkar and social activist Sundeep Kulkarni, who condemns politicizing of Trust by appointing MLAs and MPs as its members.
The talk everywhere is how much strength that YS Jagan commands in the party. The congress high command is trying to put up a brave front by saying the he odes not command the loyalties of more than half a dozen MLAs.
However Jagan has proved that he has nearly 30 MLAs with him when he sat on a deeksha in Vijayawada. Almost 30 MLAs attended his deeksha and pledged their support to him.
The congress MP Sabbam Hari has now claimed that Jagan now commands the support of no les that 70 MLAs. If this is true then the days of the Kiran Kumar Reddy government are truly numbered.
TRS MLAs resubmit resignations, move to pressurise others
2011/7/25 8:41:09 The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Monday sought to build pressure on the MLAs belonging to the Congress and Telugu Desam Party to resubmitted their resignations by taking the lead and faxing the resignations of its 11 MLAs to the office of Speaker Nadendla Manohar.
Mr Manohar had on Saturday rejected the resignations of all the MLAs which were submitted from July 3 to July 5, stating that the decision to resign had been taken in an emotionally surcharged atmosphere.
The TRS’ bid to build pressure on the Congress and TDP MLAs to resubmit their resignations came as the ruling party MLAs failed to take a decision on the issue during a meeting held at Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy’s residence on Sunday.
The TDP too has failed to take a decision on whether to resubmit the resignations of its MLAs.
However, four rebel TDP MLAs, led by Nagam Janardhan Reddy, had already faxed their resignations to the office of the Speaker.
It was clear that the TRS MLAs would resubmit their resignations after party president K Chandrasekhar Rao had said that his party Legislators would quit again.(INN)
Speaker Suresh Reddy announced that the resignations of the TRS MLAs have been accepted. The MLAs had put in their papers on March 4. But the Speaker asked them to reconsider their decision and gave them two days time.
But the MLAs stuck to their guns and stated that there was no question of reconsideration. The Speaker has now announced that he was accepting their resignations. With this, the TERs MPs and MLAs are no longer the members of the respective houses.
The TRS has identified the three MLAs who cross voted in the MLC elections. According to sources the three MLAs are – Enugu Ravinder Reddy (Yellareddy), Kaveti Sammayya (Sirpur Kagaznagar) and K Vidyasagar Rao (Korutla).
The TRS floor leader Eetela Rajender said that he has identified the three MLAs who cross voted and he will submit a report to the party chief KCR.
The assembly witnessed several unruly scenes today. The TDP MLAs held placards with words like YSR Dongalamutha written on them.
This enraged minister and brother of YS Rajashekar Reddy YS Vivekananda Reddy. He went to the TDP MLAs and tore up the placards. He was not satisfied with this and he grabbed MLAs Chintamaneni Prabhakar and Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu.
The Jagan group MLAs rushed to support YS Vivekananda Reddy.
The assembly proceedings that were being telecast live was stopped immediately. By that time the damage had already been done.
2011/10/30 5:37:10 The Congress party on Sunday took light of the resignations of three MLAs - Jupally Krishna Rao, T Rajaiah and S Satyanarayana - and said that their exit would not have any impact of the party in the Telangana region.
Talking to reporters, PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana said that the MLAs resignations were not linked to the Telangana issue. He said that the MLAs should have spoken to the party leadership if they were really serious about the Telangana statehood. However, the MLAs resigned from the party without even consulting anyone.
Botsa ridiculed the Telangana MLAs claim that their resignations from the Congress party would mount pressure on the Centre to take an early decision on the Telangana statehood issue. He said that the resignations were aimed at selfish gains.
Refusing to elaborate further, the PCC president said that the party would discuss the matter before making further comments.
Meanwhile, Telangana Congress Steering Committee convenor K Keshav Rao regretted that the MLAs had to quit the party. He said the party leadership should take measures to ensure that other MLAs and leaders do not follow the suit. (INN)
2012/4/24 8:20:11 New Delhi, April 24 (INN): The Telangana Congress MPs, who were suspended for four days from Lok Sabha on Tuesday, announced that they would continue their protests until the Centre announces a decision on Telangana statehood.
Talking to media persons, Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannatham said that the MPs have stalled the proceedings of the Lok Sabha in view of long pending aspiration and demand of people in Telangana region. He said that the MPs were ready to face any consequences for achieving the separate state.
Stating that the suspension from Lok Sabha for four days would not dilute their statehood demand, Nalgonda Gutta Sukhender Reddy described it as `black day’ in the history of ruling Congress party. Though the Congress High Command has been mounting pressure on the MPs, they will continue our protests and there was no question of bowing down to pressure, said Peddapalli MP G Vivek.
Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakhar said that the MPs were satisfied that they expressing people’s demand in the House.
“Until the Centre announces the process for Telangana state formation, the MPs will not withdraw their agitation,” he said.
The MPs stated that they would stage a protest in front of statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the Parliament on Wednesday.
Describing their suspension from the Lok Sabha as a 'minor' issue, they said their main goal was to achieve Telangana State. They said they were ready to sacrifice anything, including the elected posts for Telangana.
By not opposing the suspension of MPs, they alleged that the true face of BJP was exposed in the Parliament. They appealed to all leaders from Telangana region to join hands to achieve statehood for the region.

Talking to media persons, KCR said that the Congress party has ridiculed democracy by suspending its own MPs, who demanded honouring of promise made to the Telangana people by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram. Stating that MPs stalled the proceedings in the House in order to press their demand of people in their region, he said the MPs wanted an explanation from the government over its stand on the statehood issue.
By suspending the MPs, he said that the Congress has once again insulted the democratic rights of people and cheated the people of region. Terming the suspension of MPs as `unfortunate’ and `undemocratic’, the TRS chief said that the Congress party has to pay a heavy price for neglecting the aspirations of Telangana people.
KCR said that the people of the region would teach a fitting lesson to Congress party in the ensuing elections and the party would be completely wiped out from Telangana.
