CM, Botsa involved in ‘posts for cash’ scam: TDP

2011/6/22 2:47:26 Alleging that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana were involved in a ‘posts-for-cash’ scam, Telugu Desam Party general secretary M Arvind Kumar Goud on Wednesday demanded a ‘white paper’ on the recent reshuffle of government officials across the board in the state.

Mr Arvind Kumar’s allegation, sure to stir many a hornets’ nest, came before media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan where he said that both Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy and Mr Satyanarayana were ‘selling’ posts in places of their choice to officials in lieu of money.

“Both Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana have opened ‘counters’ to collect ‘mamools’ for giving transfer orders to officials to places of their choice,” Mr Arvind Kumar alleged.

“Besides this, the role of some Ministers in ‘helping’ the officials and bureaucrats to get transferred to places of their choice cannot be ruled out,” the TDP leader further alleged.

He added, “they have not spared any department or any post, right from the level of a peon to an officer of IAS level. They have a fixed rate to give transfer orders, based on the post and to the places of the employees’ choice.”

Mr Arvind Kumar demanded the state government release a `white paper’ on the recent transfer of officials as lakh of rupees changed hands.

“Both the Chief Minister and PCC chief are looting the officials in the name of transfers,” he alleged.

Shankar Rao slams State for ACB officials' transfer

2012/4/7 4:11:38 Former Congress minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Saturday came down heavily on the State Government for 'indiscriminate' transfer of the ACB officials in order to shield the corrupt ministers, who were found having nexus with the liquor syndicates.

Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, Shankar Rao said that the transferring of ACB Joint Director Srinivasa Reddy to Coastal Security would definitely damage the party and government’s image. In order to shield the corrupt ministers, he said that the government should not stoop to such level and ignore the moral values. “The transfer of Srinivasa Reddy in the name of promotion to Coastal Security is aimed to dilute the ACB investigations into the liquor syndicate issue,” he said.

Though the transfer of sincere and outright officials would affect the morale of entire department, he advised the officials not to lose confidence and hopes. He asked as to how the Chief Minister, who recently claimed to bring the guilty to book, could transfer the officials when the investigations were in a crucial phase.

Responding to media reports about his 'forced resignation' from the Kiran Kumar Reddy Cabinet, the former minister claimed that he never resigned from his minister’s post.

Dr Shankar Rao said that he did not attend the Telangana Congress leaders meeting as he did not get the invite from the leaders. (INN)
