Jagan brought disrepute to YSR: Anam

While welcoming the CBI inquiry into the alleged illegal accumulation of wealth by Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy asked Jagan to take a definite and clear stand on his political career instead of throwing the entire blame on YSR and his then cabinet colleagues for any decision taken on irregular allotments of land to his business partners and Dubai-based Emaar Properties.

The Minister lashed out at Jagan's close aides, Balineni Srinivasa Rao and former minister Konathala Ramakrishna, for their comments and asked them to spell out their share in the ‘illegal’ wealth amassed and advised them not to sling mud at others without any basis. He said it was Jagan who brought his father YSR into the controversy by stating that entire YSR cabinet should be held responsible for the decisons taken on irregular land allotments.

"Jagan chose to find fault with his father YSR who had the distinction of being in the state and central politics for over 35 years. Whereas no political leader tried to blame YSR for the current ‘illegal’ wealth, Jagan, in order to find an escape route, accused his father of taking decisions on irregular land allotments," he said.

Jagan’s earlier stand welcoming any inquiry and his volte-face later on CBI probe was something unparallel in the country, the minister said. Even YSR welcomed a CBI probe always on any issue that called for it. Jagan’s utterances defamed his father and his popularity took a beating. The selfish motive as adopted by YS Jagan Reddy it to the ‘chair’ and to protect his skin while pulling others into the ‘trap’, came in for severe criticism particularly when he had indulged in tall talk over the CBI and then seeking a stay from the Apex Court, Anam said.

“We hail CBI enquiry because the state’s top judicial body had ordered that the investigating agency should get to the bottom to unearth the ‘skeletons’, to bring to book those who indulged in money laundering and amassed illegal wealth," Anam Ramnarayana Reddy said. He also sought to clarify before the media that when Jagan Reddy emphatically said that his business was a role model, now he should welcome the said probe to set at rest all things and clarified that there was no ‘witch hunting' from congress or Sonia Gandhi or from any section of the ruling party. Jagan brought disrepute to YSR's name: Congress

2012/5/17 6:56:25 Hyderabad, May 17 (INN): Congress MLC and senior leader Paladugu Venkat Rao on Thursday blamed YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for causing the by-elections in the State.

Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office, he alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy influenced the MLAs though his money power and caused by-elections in the 18 Assembly constituencies. He said that Jagan Mohan Reddy wants to come to power using his money power and factionalism tactics. However, the people would teach him a fitting lesson in the ensuing by-elections, he said.

For his own political career, he said that Jagan Mohan Reddy spoiled his father and former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s name. So far, no one pointed fingers at YSR. However, he said that now every opposition leader has been criticizing YSR and bringing disrepute to his name and Congress party.

Venkat Rao warned Jagan of serious consequences if he levels baseless charges against the Congress party and the government. He said that the government would deal with law and order effectively if the CBI arrests Jagan Mohan Reddy on May 28.

Don't fall into Jagan's trap: Botsa to Cong. MLA

2011/8/21 4:03:50 Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Sunday asked his partymen not to fall into the trap of YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is presently facing an investigation by the CBI for allegedly amassing illegal wealth.

Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, the PCC chief said the letter written by widow of former chief minister YSR was nothing but an attempt to divert people's attention from the CBI raids. He said the family members of Jagan were making frivolous statements out of desperation due to the on-going CBI raids at Jagan's offices and residence. He asked as to why Jaganmohan Reddy was afraid of CBI probe if he was not involved in any corrupt deals. He said Pulivendula MLA YS Vijayamma letters clearly hint that Jagan wants to escape from the CBI probe.

Botsa said the MLAs who were supporting Jagan should be careful in saving their image as supporting a person facing corruption charges would tarnish their image, besides bringing disrepute to the party. He said the popularity of an individual was not the criteria to stop CBI probe against Jagan and the law would take its course of action.

Responding to allegations that the government has not ordered CBI probe into Volkswagen scam against him, the PCC chief said the CBI has given him a clean chit after the completion of probe. Responding to Jagan group MLAs threatening with resignations, he said the government would not fall into minority despite their resignations and there was no danger to the government.

He said the people of state voted the Congress party for second time seeing its performance and based on the policies adopted by the government for the welfare of poor and downtrodden. Replying to a question that former chief minister YSR name figured in CBI’s First Information Report, he said the CBI has to yet to submit its comprehensive report to the high court. (INN)

YSR Cong slams media for anti-Jagan stories

2012/2/19 6:39:02 YSR Congress party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao on Sunday accused the media of misusing the freedom of expression and publishing false reports against Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Talking to media persons at YSR Congress party office, he said that a section of media has engaged all its energies to tarnish the image of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He alleged that anti-Jagan news reports were part of a conspiracy hatched by Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu. Quoting a media report, he asked the media to disclose the sources who claimed that Jagan would be arrested in March month. He asked whether media got any tip offs from the CBI about Jagan's arrest. Further, he asked the media to explain as to how Jagan would lose people's sympathy after the arrest.

Ramchandra Rao said although the State Budget presented by Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy was 'anti-people' and 'anti-welfare,’ the media did not carry any critical analysis. Instead, some publications have been carrying 'baseless' reports against Jagan Mohan Reddy to tarnish his image.

The YSR Congress party spokesperson also asked as to why the CBI was not responding to 'speculative' stories being published about its investigation in various cases.

Ramchandra Rao alleged that the TDP chief has launched this campaign using media to divert attention of people from the leaders of his party who were involved in liquor scam and due to by-elections in the Telangana region. He said that the people would lose faith on media if it continues anti-Jagan campaign shunning basic principles. (INN)

TDP denies Naidu's links with Gali

2011/11/4 5:47:23 The Telugu Desam Party on Friday slammed Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy for dragging the name of its president N Chandrababu Naidu into the Obulapuram Mining Corporation (OMC) illegal mining scam.

Talking to reporters at NTR Trust Bhavan, senior TDP leader K Yerran Naidu said that although it was true that the mining lease was transferred to the OMC during the TDP regime, all irregularities happened during the tenure of YS Rajasekhara Reddy as the Chief Minister. He said that Jagan must realise that the CBI was investigating into the illegal mining by the OMC and not the transfer of mining lease.

Yerran Naidu accused the YSR Congress president of unnecessarily dragging the name of Chandrababu Naidu only to get political mileage and divert attention. He said Chandrababu Naidu had no connections with Gali Janardhan Reddy or the OMC at any point of time.

Meanwhile, the Congress party supported Jagan's claim that the mining lease was transferred during TDP's rule. However, it also suspected the involvement of Jagan in the OMC scam.

Demanding an enquiry into the GO pertaining to the transfer of lease to the OMC, Congress MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy claimed that Jagan had connections with OMC chairman Gali Janardhan Reddy. He asked Jagan to disclose the details of what transpired between him and the CBI officials on Friday. (INN)
