"Clean chit has not been given (to Narendra Modi). The case has been given to lower court," said Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi.
He said there was a need to wait for the verdict of the trial court and ultimately justice would be done.
"It will be difficult to wipe off the blot on Narendra Modi. His character is known to the entire country. He was unable to the curb communal violence in Gujarat," Alvi said.
He said Modi could not wash off "stain" of the 2002 riots.
Alvi was speaking to reporters on the Supreme Court directing the trial court to hear the petition by Zakia Jafri, whose husband was killed in the Gulberg Society carnage during the 2002 riots, against Modi.
The petition alleged deliberate inaction on part of Modi, his cabinet colleagues and some high-ranking state officials.
The court said the magistrate, before deciding on the complaint by Zakia Jafri, will issue her a notice and afford her an opportunity to be heard.

Stop political vendetta against Jagan: Ramchandra Rao
2011/8/18 4:08:32 YSR Congress party official spokesperson Gattu Ramchandra Rao on Thursday alleged that party president Jaganmohan Reddy was being harassed for leaving the Congress party.
Talking to media persons at party office over the Central Bureau of Investigation raids across the nation on Jagan’s offices, he said that Jagan was being targeted by the Congress as he quit the party. Referring to the Anti-Corruption Bureau court recently giving a clean chit to former chief minister K Rosaiah in a land case at Ameerpet, he said that the former chief minister got clean chit because he was in the Congress.
"When the government can arrest Anna Hazare and lodge him in Tihar Jail, we can expect anything from this government,” said Ramchandra Reddy when asked if he feared Jagan's arrest in the case.
Another official spokesman Ambati Rambabu said the cases filed against Jagan in the High Court were politically motivated.
He wondered how the court could order a probe on the basis of a letter by Handlooms and Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao. "If the same yardstick is applied, a CBI probe has to be ordered against every top politician in the country," he said. (INN)
2011/8/25 3:37:23 Raising serious objection over Anti-Corruption Bureau Court giving clean chit to former chief minister Konejeti Rosaiah in connection with a land de-notification case at Ameerpet, lawyer Sri Ranga Rao on Thursday filed a petition seeking to open the case afresh.
Filing a petition in the ACB court, Sri Ranga Rao said the ACB court gave clean chit to Rosaiah without examining the vital documents submitted by him. Alleging that the ACB failed to conduct a proper investigation into the case, he submitted a petition for the re-opening of the case.
Sri Ranga Rao said the ACB officials submitted false reports bowing to the pressure of government and not conducted the probe in a fair manner.
The ACB Court on August 16 gave a clean chit to former chief minister K Rosaiah in the Maitrivanam land case. Accepting the Anti-Corruption Bureau's report, the ACB Court pointed out that the former chief minister and the officials during his tenure did not resort to any malpractices and did not show any favoritism to anybody.
The ACB court could not find any evidence to build a criminal case against Rosaiah, and no witnesses testified on any bribe taking by him.
Earlier, the ACB had booked a case against former Chief Minister K Rosaiah and 14 others in connection with a land de-notification case, following a directive from the High Court based on a petition filed by an advocate Sri Ranga Rao.
The case was booked under the provisions of the Prevention Of Corruption Act, and under Sections 406 (Criminal Breach of Trust) and 409 (Criminal breach of trust by public servant, or by banker) of the IPC.
It was alleged that Rosaiah had favored TD leader G N Naidu and 13 others by de-notifying land worth Rs 200 crore near Maitrivanam in Ameerpet by accepting a bribe. The 9.14 acre area was de-notified from land acquisition when Rosaiah was CM, on 15 July 2010.
The petitioner alleged that though the municipal administration department was against de-notifying the land, the then CM had recommended it and had issued the GO 288 favoring the deal.(INN)

Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Ramana said that Vijayamma filed the petition in the apex court against Naidu at the behest of her son and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and to divert the attention of people from the CBI freezing Sakshi group bank accounts.
Stating that Jagan forced his mother to file petition against Naidu out of frustration, he said that this clearly proves that Jagan wants to protect his 'corruption money' from the CBI and to escape from the arrest of probing agency.
However, Ramana expressed confidence that the Supreme Court would quash the petition against Naidu and give a clean chit to him soon. He reminded that former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ordered probe against Naidu over his properties many times. But all the probing agencies gave clean chit to Naidu, he claimed.

It is old news that Balakrishna is very much upset with the hate website on him – www.ihatebalayya.com
While many Balayya fans see this as a handiwork of the mega family Balakrishna is not ready to believe this.
Balakrishna is of the opinion that the website may have been started by some fans of the mega family but neither Chiranjeevi nor any other member of his family may be involved in it directly or indirectly. Balayya believes that the fans may have done it without the knowledge of the mega family.
The mature response of Ballayya despite bitter professional rivalry is a welcome sign. The mega family would surely welcome Balayya’s comments and faith in them and his clan chit!

Talking to reporters, the Nizambad MP made it clear that he would resign from the primary membership of Congress party and also from the Lok Sabha membership if the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre fails to decide on Telangana. Madhu Yaskhi said that by July this year, the Centre would be in a position to take a fair decision on the statehood issue. The results of by-elections would be declared on June 15 and this would also clear the political uncertainty prevailing in the State. The Congress MP said that after resignation, he would participate in the statehood agitation with the support of non-political entities and organise programmes like 'Walk for Telangana'.

Doctors gets clean chit for infants death in Kurnool Hospital
2011/9/2 10:33:05 Giving clean chit to doctors, the State Government on Friday stated that there was no negligence on the part of doctors that caused the death of 10 infants at the Kurnool District Hospital.
However, after holding two review meetings on the issue, the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday asked the district incharge minister Sathrucharla Vijayarama Raju, district minister T G Venkatesh and the district collector to personally visit the hospital and initiate action against the erring doctors.
But the Chief Minister's Office also enclosed the report of preliminary enquiry into the incident which stated that 'prima facie there is negligence or any other mistake from the doctors or the hospital staff in the death of infants'. The preliminary enquiry into the incident was conducted by Director of Medical Education Dr. Sampath Kumar, Neonatologist Dr. Amresh, SEPIO JD Dr.T.Neerada and Unicef's Child Health Consultant Dr. Ajit Sudeke.
According to the report submitted to the government, the hospital has 16 open incubators and warmers, 4 ventilators, suction operators and other equipment. Drugs are available in sufficient quantity. The treatment protocol was well maintained. Of the 10 infants who died on 31st August and 1st September (4+ 6), only one infant was born in the hospital. Of them four babies were premature. The common cause for their admission was birth asphyxia.
Listing out the other facilities available in the hospital and the statistics related to admission and mortality rate, the committee concluded that there was no negligence. The Chief Minister, however, asked the officials of the health department to take all precautions and see that such incidents do not occur. He said that the infant mortality rate and the maternity mortality rate should be brought down under any circumstances. He said that a detailed enquiry should be conducted and if there is any mistakes on the part of the doctors or hospital staff stringent action should be taken. (INN)
CBI's clean chit to Lagadapati's brother irks Ponnam
2011/8/25 9:18:07 Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Thursday asked as to why the Central Bureau of Investigation did not include Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal brother Sridhar’s name in the FIR although he made investments in companies floated by Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy.
Talking to media persons, Ponnam Prabhakar wondered about CBI Joint director Laxminarayana giving clean chit to Lagadapati Rajagopal even before the completion of the probe. Replying to a query, he said that no Telangana leader has made any investments in Jagan firms.
Regarding Telangana issue, Ponnam Prabhakar said that he would write a letter to Congress in-charge of state affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad to complete the consultation process with both Seemandhra and Telangana leaders within two months. He asked the Telangana leaders to learn a lesson from 26 Congress MLAs, who submitted resignation citing humiliation to YSR as the reaons, and submit resignations afresh respecting the sentiments of Telangana people towards the statehood.
Ponnam warned the Centre that Telangana MPs would intensify their agitation for the statehood if it fails to take a favourable decision before September 17. He said the MPs dropped agitation temporarily respecting Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who was undergoing treatment in the US. (INN)
2007/11/30 3:58:45 The government is likely to seize the properties of the prime accused in the DEEPEP scam Sarasa Devi and Subrahmanyam. The government is awaiting the clearance from the court to auction the properties of both the accused. An amount to the tune of 14.95 crore has been siphoned off from the money meant for the Sarva Siksha Abhiyan by the education department.
Sarasa Devi and YSR’s man Friday Sureedu are reported to be close friends as they both hail from the same place. Even though Subrahmanayam had reveled the name of Sureedu during the investigations, the government and concerned officials ate going out of their way to shield him. Even the minister has given a clean chit even after Subrahmanyam had admitted that he gave one crore to Sureedu at the chief minister’s camp office.
2011/9/8 5:12:24 Ridiculing the claim of Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy that he was a successful businessman, Health Minister DL Ravindra Reddy on Thursday asked the former to give lectures at Indian School of Business and others B-Schools on how to multiply investments in a short time.
Talking to reporters, the Minister condemned the approach that Jagan Mohan Reddy's adopted during his visit to New Delhi. "He is trying to mislead the national leaders by trying to portray himself as a genuine businessman," he said adding that the Central Bureau of Investigation probe will prove how he amassed so much of wealth in such a short time.
The Minister also accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of contempt of court by stating that the CBI case against him was registered at the instance of Congress party. He said everyone knew that the cases were registered on the directions of AP High Court. He said that the Congress party was in no way connected with the on-going investigation. "Instead of making hue and cry, Jagan must prove his innocence in a court of law," he advised.
Referring to Jagan's allegation that the Congress party hastily dropped all the charges against the former chief minister K Rosaiah to appoint him the Governor of Tamil Nadu, Ravindra Reddy said that Rosaiah was given a clean chit by the ACB Court and again the government did not play any role in that case. He asked Jagan to restrain himself from making comments on court's directives and judgments.
Demanding an apology from the Kadapa MP for causing losses to the state's exchequer, the Minister demanded that the CBI conduct a thorough probe into the affairs of all the companies who invested in the Jagan's businesses. However, he said there was no need to extend the probe to all members of YSR's cabinet from 2004 to 2009. He also claimed that that he was always against Jagan's tactics of misusing his father's position to amass illegal wealth. He said he was not a part of the House Committee which gave clean chit to Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The Minister said he has already submitted all the evidences that he possessed against Jagan Mohan Reddy to the investigating agencies and he was ready to depose the CBI or court, if summoned. He also announced that he would start a bus yatra across the State to expose 'the corrupt face' of YSR Congress president. (INN)

2007/8/14 11:12:34 The Obulapuram mining issue first came as a jolt to the chief minister Y S Rajasheake Reddy and he had to spend sleepless nights for some days.
Now, strangely it is Babu who is spending sleepless nights. After raising a hue and cry about the issue, Babu sent some TDP men to inspect the mines. They could not enter the area and were arrested by the police. Now an all-party team visited Obulapuram and except for TDP, the others have given a clean chit to the mining activity at Obulapuram. This has isolated the TDP and Babu is now determined to follow it up with renewed vigor.
Many analysts say that the TDP has lost more than the congress and it is seen as a loss of face to the TDP.
