It’s official. The Congress party has deiced to nominate one artist from the industry to the Legislative Council through the Governor’s quota. This was disclosed by the PCC chief K Kesava Rao in Hyderabad on Thursday.
KK said that the party has decided to give one seat to a popular art from the industry. The party believes that it can boost its image further in the assembly polls if it gives a chance to some glamorous star with mass appeal. Several names are doing the rounds.
However, a final decision has not yet been taken. Sources say that the Congress party is keen to select Chiranjeevi’s brother Nagendrababu for the seat. The final decision however rests with Chiru as far as Nagendrababu is concerned.
2008/2/11 8:59:51 The media gathered outside the residence of TRS leader Madhu this evening. The media smelt a big story as Madhu had invited Nagababu, brother of Chirnjeevi for dinner and also some 'talks'.
Nagababu was shocked to see the big media contingent outside the residence of Madhu. Nagababu did not want to take any chances as the media might force him to say something that could prove damaging to Chiranjeevi.
So Nagababu left the place hurriedly without having dinner. He later said that he went to Madhu's house, as one of Madhu's relatives is a big fan of Chiranjeevi.
Nagababu wants to convey that there was not politics involved in his visit to the residence of the TRS leader.

Nagababu has been holding secret meetings with Chiranjeevi fans across the state. He held several meetings with Chiranjeevi fans in coastal Andhra and Krisha district in the past few weeks. Nagababu is now entering what is known as the bastion of the TRS – Telangna districts. Meanwhile, Nagababu has signed up for another film with Kodi Ramakrishna. Naga Babu will play the role of a police officer in the film. Kalyani will play his wife in the movie.
Mega brother Nagababu played a guest role in the film ‘Premabhishekam’. He plays the role of a gang leader. He is pitted against a much bigger and powerful gangster Sri Hari. The film is produced by Venu Madhav and he also stars as a hero in the film.
It is quite obvious that Venu Madhav used his influence with the Chiru family and convinced Nagababu to do the role. While Sri Hari’s role is quite substantial and also decent, Nagababu is virtually reduced to that of a joker. His role is very brief and also very unconvincing. He comes across as an ineffective gang leader who cannot take revenge for the killing of his brother-in-law at the hands of Sri Hari.
One fails to understand how someone with a stature ad image as that of Nagababu could have agreed to lay such a silly role. The role is nothing short of an insult to Nagababu but also to his fans.
2006/11/12 3:10:21 The dubbing artistes and other technicians on Friday called off their agitation taken up in protest the decision taken by the Telugu Producers Council. The protest is being held for the past three days in front of the Film Chamber. Film Chamber President G Viswanath and MAA president Nagababu gave the lemon water to Vennelakanti, Ravi who were on a hunger strike at around 11.30 am on Saturday. Film Chamber president Viswanath says, 'A number of people were against the decision taken by the Producers Council. Of course, it is unfortunate that the Producers Council should not have taken such a decision unilaterally. We condemn the decision taken up by one wing of the film industry on its own. We will conduct a meeting and settle the problem amicably.' MAA president Nagababu says, 'For any film dubbing artistes are equally important like the hero and heroines and other artistes. Everyone should live happily is my policy. I thank Vennelakanti, Ravi, Sriramakrishna and others for calling off their agitation by honouring our word. We will try our best to solve the problem. As the president of MAA, my duty is to do justice to all the artistes. I will talk to the film producers and tell them to take a positive decision in this regard'. Sriramakrishna, Ravi and Vennelakanti and others thanked those who extended their cooperation for the agitation taken up by the dubbing artistes and technicians.' Hyderabad State Film Chamber president Vijayender Reddy, secretary Muralimohan, former president of the chamber Bhaskar Rao and others accompanied Nagendrababu and G Viswanath. Hyderabad State Film Chamber secretary Muralimohan says, 'The Producers Council is alleging that over 200 films failed to see the light due to non-availability of theatres and were remaining in the labs. It is not true. They were left behind in the labs due to the personal problems of those respective producers. Let them release five films now and we are ready to make the theatres available to them.
2008/2/22 6:10:34 The first indication that Chiranjeevi is now very serious about launching a political party has come today. Chiranjeevi’s brother Nagababu opened a Blood bank at Machilipatnam this afternoon.
He later took out a big rally and reached Gudivada. He met many Chiranjeevi fans enroute. His road show from Machilipatnam to Hanuman Junction was a gala affair. Many vehicles accompanied him in a convoy.. Nagababu later offered puja at the Hanuman temple at the Hanuman Junction.
Nagababu addressed a big public rally consisting mainly of Chiranjeevi fans. The fans cheered wildly to every word uttered by Nagababau. Nagabbau later told them that he would convey their message to Chiranjeevi.
The fans also raised several slogans in support of Chiranjeevi. The slogans also mentioned Chiranjeevi as the next chief minster of the state - “Kaabooye Mukhyamantri megastar Chiranjeevi!”
The hot and sensuous Ramyakrishna has been away from the big screen for a long time. She was busy with work for the small screen. She made a comeback of sorts in the film Apadamokkulavadu. Nagababu was the hero and Posani directed the film.

Nagababu is now acting in a bilingual film titled 'Wrong number'. The film is being made simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi. Suresh Kumar Jain is the director. The film got underway in Hyderabad yesterday.
Nagababu seems to have got a wrong number this time. He is a well established actor and comes from the Konidela family. He has to safeguard the reputation of himself an also that of his brother Chiranjeevi. The producer of the film Tummalapalli Ramasathyanarayana is known popularly as the producer of B-grade soft pornographic films. So it is really surprising that Nagababu chose to work with him.
2007/12/18 3:27:56 Megastar Chiranjeevi’s brother Nagendrababu said that no decision has been taken so far about launching a political party. He was replying to a question by media men in Tadepalligudem on Monday. Nagababu made it clear that Chiru is yet to make up his mind over the issue.
He also said that the guidelines for Pawan Kalyan’s proposed Common Man Protection Force were also yet to be formulated.
Council adjourned due to non-presence of ministers
2012/2/24 7:28:48 Hyderabad, Feb 24 (INN): The State Legislative Council was adjourned on Friday in protest against the absence of ministers from the House.
Congress MLC P Venkat Rao raised the issue of non-presence of ministers in the council. He said as per norms, 16 ministers should attend the Council proceedings, but only three ministers were present. He complained that no officials were attending the council during debates which was an insult to the House of Elders. He requested the Chair to adjourn the House and lodge strong protest against the government.
All the members of the House irrespective of party affiliation support the move and panel Chairman N Vidyasagar adjourned the House for 10 minutes. However, when the House re-assembled after 10 minutes, only six ministers turned up.
Chakrapani accepts Mohan Reddy's resignation as MLC
2012/5/18 7:25:30 Hyderabad, May 18 (INN): State Legislative Council chairman Dr A Chakrapani on Friday accepted the resignation of SV Mohan Reddy as the member of the council.
Mohan Reddy was elected to the council from the local bodies of Kurnool district in March 2011. On May 9, he resigned as MLC as well as from the primary membership of the Congress party. Since he was moving very close to YSR Congress party, the ruling party lodged a complaint with the Council chairman Dr Chakrapani seeking his disqualification.
He was also served a notice and a day after appearing before the Council Chairman, he submitted his resignation as the MLC.
Mohan Reddy welcomed the chairman's decision and said now he could work independently for the YSR Congress party.
Famous sexologist G Samaram is in the race for the council polls. He is fighting the election from Guntur and Krishna district constituencies. He filed his nomination papers for the graduates’ constituency on Monday.
Samaram claimed that he has the blessings of Megastar Chiranjeevi. The Indian Medical Association is also backing him. If he makes it to the council, then one can expect to hear more about sex and sex education in the council too.
Another filmstar is now in the race for the council seat. It is none other than yesteryear Tollywood star Nagma. Nagma has acted in many hit telugu films. The actor of lately has not found any wok in Tollyood
However, the actor is reportedly lobbying for a seat in the legislative council thru the reserved quota for artists. When some of the bigwigs have expressed their interest in being nominated for the council, Nagma has a feeble chance of being nominated. Anyway, best of luck to Nagma!.

2008/5/12 2:10:58 The farming community and agriculture are high n the agenda of the proposed political party of megastar Chiranjeevi. Nagababu disclosed this at a meeting ‘Rythu Rajyam’ at Jangaon in Warangal district on Sunday.
Nagababu said that they came from a farming community and hence are well aware of the problems faced by farmers. He said farmers problems like quality seeds, adequate power, quality insecticides and pesticides and other such issues would be taken care of by Chiranjeevi once he comes to power.
