TDP moves privilege motion against minister Parathasarthy

Telugu Desam Party MLA Payyavula Kesav on Wednesday stated that the party would move a privilege motion against Krishna district in-charge minister K Parthasarathy for violating the rights of MLAs during the allotment of houses.

Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, he said that the Minister has violated the rights of MLAs and allotted houses constructed for poor and backward classes’ people to his party men. However, the Minister denied the TDP charge that houses allotted to his henchmen. He said that 2000 houses would be constructed for poor under MLAs constituency funds through Andhra Pradesh Housing Construction.

However, during the allotment of houses, the lists of beneficiaries were selected by the Minister’s henchmen instead of TDP MLA representing the constituency. When K Parthasarathy was questioned in the House, the Minister did not give proper reply and stated that no irregularities have been taken place, he said.

In protest against the Minister’s answer, the TDP has decided to move a privilege motion against him. A notice in this regard has already been sent to Speaker Nadendla Manohar.

Payyavula Kesav stated that the TDP would submit a CD to Governor over his arrogant behavior in giving reply and seek his dismissal from the Cabinet.

Another TDP MLA Rama Kotaiah alleged that irregularities have taken place in the allotment of houses constructed for poor and backward class people in Krishna district. Devineni Umamaheswara Rao was also present. (INN)

Never insulted Assembly, Privilege Motion moves will fail: Lagadapati

2011/6/29 3:15:50 Denying that he had made any comments which could insult the established democratic norms, Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Wednesday expressed confidence that the moves to bring a Privilege Motion against him by elected representatives from Telangana would not hold water.

Talking to media persons here on Wednesday, Mr Rajagopal, in his own imitable style, expressed incredulity that the Telangana Legislators were attempting to bring a Privilege Motion against him, without any basis.

Clarifying on his remarks on the deletion of Clause 14 F of the Presidential Order of 1975, the Vijayawada MP said that he had only said that the Centre would not agree to deletion of the controversial Clause since the resolution passed by the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly was not on proper voting pattern.

It may be mentioned here that in essence, Mr Rajagopals argument is flawed since voting is not necessary every time any Bill, Motion or Resolution is adopted by the House. The House had passed the resolution with near unanimity.

The Vijayawada MP further said that the Police Department has been exempted from the zonal system and Hyderabad has been included in the Free Zone so that law and order could be maintained in the city.

He added, I have never made any harsh comments insulting the established democratic norms.

Mr Rajagopal further said that the Centre would take the final decision on the resolution seeking deletion of the controversial Clause.

The Vijayawada MP further said that the state Assembly was yet to pass a resolution on Telangana statehood. The AP Assembly has not passed any resolution on Telangana statehood so far, Mr Rajagopal pointed out.

The MP added that in the event of division of the state, certain parameters would have to be followed and bifurcation should have to be done on scientific basis.

Stating that Centre never promised Telangana on December 9, 2009 when Union Home Minister P Chidambaram had made his famous statement, Mr Rajagopal said Centre stated that it would take appropriate decision on statehood issue at an appropriate time.

Stating that he never objected to any resolution on Telangana, the Vijayawada MP said the Congress was unwilling to form a separate state. If a resolution on Telangana is introduced in the House, about 225 members will oppose it, Mr Rajagopal said.(INN)

Move privilege motion against Naidu for double standards: TRS

2011/8/30 11:37:52 Telangana Rashtra Samiti MLA K Taraka Rama Rao on Tuesday asked Telugu Desam Telangana Forum members to move privilege motion against TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for adopting double standards on bifurcation of statehood issue instead of Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram.

Condemning Telugu Desam Telangana Forum members plan to move privilege motion and lodging SC/STs Atrocious complaint against TPJAC Chairman Prof M Kodandaram for making provocative remarks against Telangana leaders, Taraka Rama Rao asked Telangana Forum members to move privilege motion on Naidu for adopting double standards.

Talking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, Taraka Rama Rao warned Forum members of serious consequences if they move privilege motion against Kodandaram and demanded that Telangana leaders book case against Chandrababu Naidu under section 420 for failing to honour Telangana statehood promise.

Suspecting the commitment of Forum members towards Telangana state, he said Kodandaram did no mistake by questioning the Telangana leaders who failed to resign to their posts. He asked why TDP chief Naidu failed to introduce no confidence motion against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy despite stating Congress as poisonous tree. If he has any commitment towards welfare of people, Naidu must introduce no trust motion against government, he demanded.

The TRS leader advised Telangana Congress Ministers not to attend duties as it would send wrong message among people of region. (INN)

Privilege motion against TTD by Mutyam Reddy

2011/10/10 6:27:50 Congress MLA Ch Muthyam Reddy on Monday threatened to move a privilege motion against the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam Board for not entertaining his requisition for providing Arjitha Sevas to people recommended by him.

Talking to reporters at Congress Legislature Party office, Muthyam Reddy said that he was the lone member of the TTD Board from the Telangana and he was empowered to send requisitions for Arjitha Sevas. In exercise of his powers, on October 6 he has sent three separate requisitions recommending 15 people for Arjita Sevas at TTD. However, he alleged that the requisitions were thrown in the dustbin by a junior TTD employee.

Privilege Motion against Jupally by Cong.MLAs

2011/11/1 5:18:41 The Congress MLAs from the Telangana region would move a privilege motion against former minister Jupally Krishna Rao for making allegations that they received bribe from Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy in the form of SUVs for not leaving the party.

Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party Office here on Tuesday, Congress MLA K Laxma Reddy described Jupally's allegations as 'baseless'. He said that Jupally who was with the Congress party till yesterday is now levelling baseless allegations against his former colleagues.

Asking Jupally to submit evidence to prove his allegations, Laxma Reddy asked, "How much money he took from Chandrasekhar Rao to join the TRS?" He reminded that Jupally described KCR as the Telangana’s biggest enemy and now he is using the TRS platform to target the Congress party. Stating that the Congress MLAs would move a privilege motion against Jupally before the Speaker Nadendla Manohar, he said legal notices would also be served to newspapers who published the report without any evidence.

Regarding Telangana, the Congress MLA said that the statehood for the region was not possible without the support of the United Progressive Alliance, particularly the Congress party. He said that the TRS could raise hue and cry about the Telangana, but it was only Congress party which could give statehood for the region. He said the Congress leaders would stage hunger fast in Delhi to convince the Congress High Command on the Telangana state.

Laxma Reddy also targeted the Telangana Congress Steering Committee by asking the Congress MPs to stop giving instructions to the MLAs on what they should do for the Telangana cause. Without naming any leader, he said that the MLAs do not need any advise on how the Telangana agitation should continue. However, he expressed total support for agitations being taken up for the statehood cause.

The Congress MLA said that a delegation of party legislators would soon meet the Chief Minister asking him to order a probe into the assets of TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao. He alleged that KCR has accumulated wealth through illegal means and he got it multiplied after the launch of Telangana agitation in the recent past. While asking KCR to declare his assets, he said that the Chief Minister would be convinced to order a comprehensive probe against him. (INN)

    Session for No Trust moves

Talking to media persons at TRS Bhavan, Harish Rao stated that Chandrabbu Naidu has confined himself to issuing press statements and did not honour his words of introducing No Trust Motion on farmers problems last time. Winter session of Assembly begins tomorrow

2011/11/30 12:30:52 A brief five-day Winter session of State Assembly begins here tomorrow and the high voltage publicity of the main opposition TDP planning to move a no-confidence motion seems to be an exercise aimed at exposing the chinks in the Congress and the attitude of TRS and not to just count the strength of the Kiran Kumar government and its supporters.

The 2004 elections were fought between TDP against all others and the 2009 scene was Congress against all others. On both counts, Congress was the winner. In the last polls, TDP lost many seats with PRP in fray and this time around, TDP sees a threat in YSR Congress and wants to consolidate its base in coastal Andhra.

The no confidence motion, if at all TDP moves, will serve the purpose of knowing the actual strength of the ruling party and which party is going with Kiran Kumar Reddy. The exercise can best be described as logging the loyalties as number-wise TDP on its own cannot trounce Congress.

It remains to be seen who will support TDP. But more interesting point will be as to whether all members elected on Congress ticket will vote for the party or not. Should Congress issue a whip, MLAs aligned with YSR Congress will be in trouble and should the group identified as YSR Congress decide to support the government, no confidence become a non-issue.

TRS has already said that it will extend support, if TDP moves the no confidence motion. This brings in two parties with contrasting ideologies together and the same can be said if MLAs going with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy decide to vote in favour of the ruling party.

Any which way, the no confidence motion would stir the hornets’ nest and will be good fodder for hurling allegations against each other. If, for some reason, the Opposition decides not to move the motion, many issues including price rise, minimum support price to farmers, corruption at high places, Obulapuram Mining case will come up for discussion.

The House will sit on Sunday to adopt some important Bills. (INN)

TDP to move No Trust Motion against KKR

2011/11/18 15:01:10 he Telugu Desam Party on Friday announced that it would move a No Confidence Motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government in the ensuing session of the State Legislative Assembly.

Addressing a public meeting at Shahbad in the Ranga Reddy district as part of Rythu Porubata on Friday evening, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu said that the government has failed on all fronts, especially in providing relief to the drought affected farmers in the State. Therefore, the TDP would move a No Trust Motion against the government on the "first day - first hour" of the next assembly session.

Naidu said that the TDP would also organise an all-party meeting in New Delhi on November 21 to discuss the issue of drought situation and farmers' problems in the State. He said the TDP would seek support from the national parties in continuing its fight to get justice for farmers in the State.

Speaking about the CBI probe, Naidu said that he was being victimised by the Congress Government. He said similar probes were ordered against the TDP founder NT Rama Rao when he lost power. He said former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy too ordered many probes against him after the Congress party came to power in 2004. However, he said so far he was not found guilty in any of the cases. He said the recent CBI probe was aimed at tarnishing his image.

Meanwhile, TDP politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu announced that the party would serve the notice of No Confidence Motion an hour before the start of legislative assembly session, as per the rules. However, he said that the TDP's earlier moves to bring such a motion were foiled due to the lack of cooperation from the TRS and YSR Congress party. He said this time he said all opposition parties should support the TDP. (INN)

Not worried about No confidence motion: Botsa

2011/11/30 14:44:34 Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday stated that the Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress have no strength to dethrone Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy government through no confidence motion.

Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa Satyanarayana said that the Congress party has enough numbers to prove its majority in the assembly if the Telugu Desam Party moves no confidence motion against government in the winter session beginning from December 1. Welcoming the No Trust motion against the government on farmers’ issues, the PCC chief said that the discussion would help the farmers to understand under whose tenure they got genuine benefits.

Condemning TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu for stating that his life was an open book, he asked Naidu to disclose which court has given him a clean chit from the corruption charges. He asked Naidu, who initially hailed CBI probe against his properties, as to why he has filed a vacate petition in the High Court against the probe. He advised Naidu to cooperate with probing agency officials and come out clean from all the charges. He also asked Naidu not to speak on moral values until the CBI gives clean chit to him.

Responding to a question on return of the Congress MLAs who switched loyalties towards YSR Congress, he said those MLAs should support the leadership of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and come to Gandhi Bhavan. (INN)

KKR will win Trust Vote: Sailajanath

2011/11/20 12:06:27 Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath claimed that there was no threat to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy Government if the opposition Telugu Desam Party moves No Confidence Motion in the legislative assembly.

Talking to media persons after inaugurating a super specialty hospital here on Sunday, Sailajanath said that Kiran Kumar Reddy knows how to win the Trust Vote if moved by TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. He said the Congress party has enough numbers to prove majority on the floor of the house and there was absolutely no threat to government. He also dared Naidu to introduce No Trust Motion, if he has courage.

Sailajanath claimed that the party MLAs who have joined the YSR Congress party would return to the Congress party soon. He cited several instances wherein leaders have re-joined the Congress after a brief stint with other parties.

The Minister accused the Bharatiya Janata party of adopting double standards on the division of Andhra Pradesh. He took serious exception on BJP senior leader L K Advani opposing the division of Uttar Pradesh into four states and supporting formation of Telangana state. He advised BJP to follow a uniform policy over the division of states instead of adopting double standards.

He reiterated that he would move a privilege motion in the Assembly seeking protection of his constitutional rights.

Accusing the Congress party of giving preference to the leaders of upper castes, he alleged that Dalits were being neglected in the party. He said discrimination was the main reason why Dalits and minority communities were quitting from the party to join other groups.

TRS, YSR Cong backtracking on NC Motion: TDP

2011/12/2 11:12:47 The Telugu Desam Party on Friday accused the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and YSR Congress party of backtracking on the No Confidence Motion.

Talking to reporters at assembly media point after the House was adjourned on Friday, TDP MLA Payyavula Keshav asked as to why TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy, who challenged the TDP to introduce No Confidence Motion against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's government, are backtracking. He said the reversal of stand of both the parties on the issue have exposed their true colours.

Keshav alleged that both KCR and Jagan were covertly trying to protect the government. He asked them to prove their sincerity by supporting the No Confidence Motion. He also condemned Speaker Nadendla Manohar for adjourning the Assembly without giving date for discussion on the No Confidence Motion.

Senior TDP MLA Tummala Nageswara Rao alleged that Speaker Nadendla Manohar adjourned the session in order to save the government from facing the No Confidence Motion. He alleged that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, who had earlier challenged Naidu to introduce the No Trust move, was afraid of facing the motion. He demanded that the Speaker allot suitable time for discussion on the motion in the session. (INN)

2012/2/23 6:54:42 Not satisfied with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s reply on discussion on Motion of Thanks to Governor ESL Narasimhan’s address, the Bharatiya Janata Party and Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Thursday staged a walk out from the House.

BJP Floor leader E Lakshminarayana said that the Chief Minister failed to mention any word about the Telangana state in the Thanks Giving Motion of Governor. CM Kiran keen to face no-confidence motion

2011/6/5 18:02:45 According to reports, it is learnt that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is keen to face no-confidence motion rather than escaping from it. He revealed it in the recent meeting with PCC president D Srinivas. All the senior Ministers of his cabinet were also with the same opinion. Hence, if the Governor asks the CM to face the no-confidence-motion as demanded by Chandrababu Naidu and others, KKRs Government is keen to face it, so as it cant be blamed as escapist Government.

KKR and his cabinet Ministers opine that, they can easily overcome this test with the support of PRP MLAs. Hence, now the ball is Governors court. If, he recommends the Government to face the no-confidence motion, it will bring out the exact political strengths of each party. However, all it depends on the signal from party high command. Unless, the Congress high Command gives a green signal to Governor, he cant order KKR Government to face the no-confidence motion. Let us see, how it cooks up.

Grand conspiracy to divert attention from T struggle: Nagam

    2011/6/3 9:18:14

Accusing Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu of trying to divert the attention of the people from the growing clamour for a separate Telangana state by announcing his decision to introduce a No Confidence Motion, suspended party MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy said that the TDP chiefs moves are part of a larger conspiracy by Seemandhra leaders.

Talking to media persons on the Assembly premises on Friday, Mr Janardhan Reddy alleged that Mr Naidu was part of the grand conspiracy set in motion by the Seemandhra leaders to divert the attention from the separate statehood agitation, which he said has reached a crescendo.

The suspended TDP MLA wondered why Mr Naidu had never earlier tried to break the tradition and name the TDP partys candidates for the Speakers and Deputy Speakers posts.

He also wondered why had the TDP, in its 30-year-old history tried to break the tradition and put up candidates for the two posts, especially at a time when it did not have the requisite support.

Mr Janardhan Reddy answered his own questions by saying that the decision to introduce the No Confidence Motion and the subsequent decision to contest for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker posts were all part of a grand conspiracy.

This conspiracy, he said, is nothing else but to divert the attention of the people from the Telangana agitation which is nearing its peak.

Mr Chandrababu Naidu has become a puppet, either willingly or unwillingly, in the hands of Seemandhra leaders. His moves are only benefitting the Seemandhra leaders and not Telangana, Mr Janardhan Reddy stated.

The suspended TDP MLA continued his tirade against his former mentor, saying that Mr Naidu had done a volte-face on ever assurance he had given on Telangana.

He may be making sympathetic noises towards Telangana, but his actions prove otherwise. What about the resolution adopted by the TDP in 2008 on Telangana? Where does he stand? questioned Mr Janardhan Reddy.

Introduce Telangana resolution in assembly: KK to CM

2011/8/28 8:34:56 Hailing Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddys announcement that the Centre would take decision on Telangana state in the next two months, Telangana Congress Steering Committee convener K Kesava Rao on Sunday asked him to take steps in this direction by convening Congress Legislature Party meeting.

Talking to media persons at his residence, K Kesava Rao stated the Chief Minister has to fulfill the promise by convening CLP meeting to prevail upon all MLAs on the issue. He also asked the Chief Minister to introduce Telangana resolution in the Assembly in the upcoming session for the formation of separate state. He said if the Chief Minister agrees on his demands, then the Telangana leaders would defer the agitation for three months, after consulting all political parties in the state.

Kesava Rao described former chief minister K Rosaiah as `first villain of Telangana. Despite getting directions from the party high command, Rosaiah did not introduce resolution on Telangana in the state legislative assembly. By failing to introduce Telangana resolution, he become a traitor of Telangana and back stabbed Congress president Sonia Gandhi.

The Congress MP asked Rosaiah to assume Tamil Nadu Governors post only after giving explanation to Telangana people on this issue. After seeking explanation from Rosaiah, he said the Telangana MPs would consider moving privilege motion against Union Home Minister P Chidambaram for reversing his announcement on Dec 9, 2009, Kesava Rao said. Cong accuses TDP of obstructing condolence motion

2011/12/1 14:36:40 Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath on Thursday took serious objection over the Telugu Desam Party obstructing the condolence motion meant to pay tributes to Mahbubnagar MLA N Rajeshwar Reddy on the first day of assembly session.

Talking to media persons at Assembly's Media Point, Sailajanath alleged that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu was not respecting the traditions and have been violating the rules and regulations of House by not allowing the condolence motion. "It is unfortunate that Naidu obstructed the condolence motion to facilitate discussion on No Confidence Motion.
