YS.Vivekananda Reddy, who contested against his sister-in-law YS.Vijaya Lakshmi in Pulivendhula constituency but was defeated by her during the recent bye-elections, has been maintaining silence until now. But, he suddenly appears beside his nephew YS. Jagan Mohan Reddy while he is unveiling the statue of late YSR at Pulivendhula during his tour in Kadapa district. It is indeed a pleasant surprise for Jagan to see his uncle standing beside him after a long time. Not only that, Vivekananda Reddy also flayed the Congress leaders for trying to tarnish his brother late YSR’s image. He said whatever, he did was for the sake of the poor people and it was not an individual decision but a collective decision taken by the whole cabinet. Vivekananda Reddy also said that people and the god only know that his brother late YSR is honest and was not involved in any illegal affairs.
If, his gesture is considered to be a change in his attitude favorable towards YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy then it will undoubtedly make some difference for Congress party in the state.
The family war between YS Vivekananda Reddy and YS Jagan continues. Vivekananda Reddy created a flutter when he announced that he was joining the cabinet of Kiran Kumar Reddy and also that he would bring Jagan to Sonia and make him apologize to her.
Jagan is now in Idupulapaya after quitting the congress. Vivekananda Reddy met him but the meeting was brief. Later Vivekananda Reddy announced that he will remain in the congress. He so said that if a minister post as offered to him he would accept it.

Talking to media persons after meeting Pradesh Congress Committee President Botsa Satyanarayana at Gandhi Bhavan, Mr Anam Vivekananda Reddy said the Seemandhra leaders would press for keeping the state integrated and will never agree for any other proposal with the Centre.

Stating that the development of the state was possible only if the state remains integrated, he said there was no security for the people in smaller states.

He also alleged that Congress leaders from have intensified the agitation for separate state only with an eye on Ministerial posts.
The leaders are making provocative statements only to precipitate matters and to get mileage on the issue, Mr Vivekananda Reddy further alleged.
He expressed confidence that the Centre would take a favourable decision on keeping the state integrated. (INN)
2011/9/3 3:27:52 Telugu Desam Party senior leader K Yerran Naidu on Saturday took serious note of former agriculture minister YS Vivekananda Reddy comments suspecting TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu’s hand behind the CBI raids on YSR Congress party president Jaganmohan Reddy.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Yerran Naidu alleged that Vivekananda Reddy was trying to drag the names of TDP chief and other leaders only for political gains. He said the CBI’s case against Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy or the inclusion of YSR’s name in the FIR was done on the directions of Andhra Pradesh High Court. Therefore, it was not proper to drag the name of TDP leaders in a subjudise matter.
Yerran Naidu said that Vivekananda was leveling such serious charges with an aim to join the YSR Congress party as he was neglected in the Congress after his defeat in the Pulivendula by-elections against YSR Congress party candidate Y S Vijayamma. Alleging that YSR looted the state since 2004, he said that TDP launched national movement to highlight his corrupt practices.
Another TDP MLC Rajendra Prasad said that Vivekananda Reddy made such allegations only to get Congress high command’s attention and was eyeing on MLC seat which fell vacant due to the resignation of former chief minister K Rosaiah. (INN)
Is your leader Sonia or KCR? Anam asks T Cong Legislators
2011/7/7 8:53:49 Nellore Rural MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy on Thursday sought to corner the Congress Legislators from Telangana by asking them if they had resigned from their elected posts on the orders of party president Sonia Gandhi or someone else.
Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office, the Nellore MLA demanded that the party Legislators reveal if they submitted their resignations on the orders of Ms Sonia Gandhi or Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao or Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman M Kodandaram.
“Is their leader Ms Sonia Gandhi or someone else? The Telangana Legislators should also explain if they had obtained permission from the party High Command or Congress president Sonia Gandhi before submitting their resignations,” Mr Vivekananda Reddy, brother of Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, demanded.
Asking the Congress Legislators not to make a similar mistake as committed by Seemandhra leaders following the famous statement on Telangana by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9, 2009, Mr Vivekananda Reddy advised them to withdraw their resignations and instead opt for dialogue on the separate statehood demand.
The Seemandhra leaders had resigned in protest against Mr Chidambaram’s announcement that the process of Telangana had begun. However, they later withdrew their resignations.
The Nellore MLA condemned Panchayat Raj Minister Jana Reddy for comparing the statehood agitation with the Indo-Pak border dispute.
He advised Mr Jana Reddy not to link the statehood issue with border issue. “It is only internal matter of the country and that too, limited to one state,” he said.
Mr Vivekananda Reddy also took serious objection to MP Ponnam Prabhakar’s statement that the Congress would be seen as the prime accused in the event of an unfavourable decision by Centre.(INN)
2011/3/30 0:02:21 Minister Vivekananda Reddy has submitted his resignation letter to Chief Minister K.Kiran Kumar Reddy short while ago. Though, he have six months time to enjoy his Minister post, in the wake of the fight and subsequent developments he has decided to resign to his minister post. He will be leaving for New Delhi tomorrow to explain his party high command about the reasons for his resignation.
2011/5/13 23:19:36 YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy has stated that, he is the first person who feels very sad for the defeat of his uncle YS.Vivekananda Reddy, because they both belong to one family. Jagan said that, if his uncle Vivekananda Reddy wants to join his party he welcomes him whole heartedly and ready to offer him the deserved post.
However, there is no response from YS.Vivekananda Reddy, because he thinks otherwise. He is interested to bring Jagan back into Congress fold rather than joining his party. But, Jagan who already floated a political party and is determined to teach a lesson to Congress party can’t be expected to join it anyway. Hence, it is Vivekananda Reddy who need to think about the scope of joining YSRC party.
Former Minister YS Vivekananda Reddy on the eve of 2nd death anniversary of his elder brother and former Chief Minister of the State late YS.Rajashekar Reddy has marched (Pada Yatra) from Ranga Puram in Pulivendhula constituency to Idupulapaya and paid rich tributes to late YSR.
On this occasion he met his nephew YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy and his mother YS.Vijaya Lakshmi.
Later, speaking to media he made sensational comments against CBI Joint Director Lakshmi Narayana. He alleged “JD himself is a corrupt person and a close relative of TDP MLA Payyavula Kesav. That’s why CBI has become a weapon in TDP’s hand which is dancing to the tunes of its president Chandrababu Naidu.”
“While, there are thousands and thousand of cases were pending with CBI, what makes it concentrate only on Jagan Mohan Reddy? Its foolishness to say that, Jagan Mohan Reddy has acquired lakhs of crores worth properties in a short period. I have been watching a vast change of opinion in our Congress party about my brother late YSR, since last 15-20 days. If, any of the party leaders try to molest my brother, I won’t spare them. If, the Congress party prefers to remain a silent spectator in this regard, I won’t hesitate to quit the party. After all, everyone should remember and should be gratitude to my brother late YSR who brought the party into power for two times single handedly. Yet, I am seeing many of the party leaders are slinging mud against my brother who is not now in this world.”
“Actually, he is my mentor in politics. I am ready to do any sacrifice to defend him from molesting. Soon, I will go to New Delhi and meet Sonia Gandhi along with YSR fans and convey our feelings to her. Even then also if the party allows these gobbles continue against my brother, then I will quit the party and bring all the YSR fans on to a single platform to fight against those evil people,” said YS.Vivekananda Reddy.
So, we can expect him resign to Congress party and join Jagan’s YSR Congress party anytime from now onwards.
The assembly witnessed several unruly scenes today. The TDP MLAs held placards with words like YSR Dongalamutha written on them.
This enraged minister and brother of YS Rajashekar Reddy YS Vivekananda Reddy. He went to the TDP MLAs and tore up the placards. He was not satisfied with this and he grabbed MLAs Chintamaneni Prabhakar and Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu.
The Jagan group MLAs rushed to support YS Vivekananda Reddy.
The assembly proceedings that were being telecast live was stopped immediately. By that time the damage had already been done.

Talking to reporters at MLA Quarters here on Sunday, Vivekananda Reddy said that the Congress High Command has already asked the Seemandhra leaders to avoid making statements or hold meetings asking for integrated State. He said such meetings were not needed as the Centre would not bifurcate the State as being apprehended by some Seemandhra leaders. When asked about the participation of Minister TG Venkatesh in such a programme in Kurnool, Anam said that Venkatesh must be having some personal agenda behind attending the event.
Vivekananda Reddy praised Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana for effective handling of the general strike in the Telangana region. He said that the Chief Minister promptly followed the advice of Congress High Command and was able to dilute the intensity of strike within two days. While appealing to the employees to withdraw the general strike, he said that the entire Sakala Janula Samme was the drama enacted by some political leaders to achieve personal goals.
The Congress MLA also accused the pro-Telangana parties of trying to impose their opinion on the general public. He said that the people should realise that their sentiments were being exploited by some vested elements. He appealed to the employees to withdraw the strike completely as it has been causing lot of inconvenience to the general public.
Vivekananda Reddy also denied allegations that Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has been bribed by Seemandhra leader for preparing a report against bifurcation of State. He said such allegations were being levelled by leaders who themselves are minting money in the name of statehood agitation. (INN)
2011/9/23 7:33:03 Nellore MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy on Friday described the Telangana Congress leaders submitting resignations for the cause of Telangana state as `bogus’ and `farce.’
Talking to media persons, Vivekananda Reddy slammed the Telangana Congress leaders for attending duties and cabinet meetings after submitting resignations. “This shows how much they are committed to the formation of separate Telangana state,” he stated and added that the leaders have no sincerity and will power towards achieving their goal.
Anam asked as to why they are sticking to their minister posts and going to New Delhi to meet high command. He said the Telangana Congress leaders have no power to dethrone the government in the event of Centre takes unfavourable decision. He demanded that the government conduct a referendum on general strike of employees whether they are participating voluntarily or forced to participate in the agitation.
Anam also demanded that the government conduct a referendum on Telangana state. However, he clarified that Banswada by-election was a not a referendum on the State Government. (INN

2011/7/8 3:33:40 Former agriculture minister YS Vivekananda Reddy on Friday stated that the agitation for separate Telangana statehood would not have reached such heights if his brother and former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was in alive.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan after paying rich floral tributes to Dr YSR to mark his 62nd birth anniversary, Mr Vivekananda Reddy opined that the former chief minister would have been able to control the agitation for the division of state and stopped it from reaching the stage it is in today if he was alive.
He hinted that the development and welfare schemes launched by Dr YSR would have kept the separate statehood demand from being raised.
Recalling the innovative welfare schemes launched the former chief minister, Mr Vivekananda Reddy pointed out that Dr YSR had implemented the schemes for the benefit of poor and Backward Classes despite financial constraints.
Admitting that YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s quitting has indeed weakened the ruling Congress party, Mr Vivekananda Reddy stated that by doing so, the Kadapa MP was indirectly going against aspirations and schemes of YSR.
Mr Vivekananda Reddy further stated that he would be happy if Mr Jaganmohan Reddy introduces a resolution in favour of an integrated Andhra Pradesh in the party’s maiden plenary which began on Friday at Idupulapaya in Kadapa district.
Stating that he was not looking for any posts to serve the people, Mr Vivekananda Reddy said that he would work for strengthening the party as a loyal worker and take the party programmes and schemes to grassroots level.
“Ensuring that the welfare schemes and programmes launched by Dr YSR reach the intended beneficiaries would be the real tribute to my brother,” he stated.(INN)
2011/2/15 21:32:24 The latest development from Jagan’s end is that, he had a meeting with all his family members on Tuesday at Pulivendhula, where he told them if they could convince his ‘Babai’(uncle) YS Vivekananda Reddy to leave the Congress party and to join his newly launching political party, he is ready to offer him the deserved post.
He made it clear that, he didn’t have any personal differences with him and have high regards for him in his heart. Jagan told his family members that, it is his Babai who left him and not him. He told them that, Vivekananda Reddy continuing in the Congress party is not advisable as he is facing an embarrassing situation while his colleagues are engaged in defaming his own brother late YSR. He suggested that, instead he would reunite with his own family members to give a fitting reply to the evil Congress leaders. This might be considered as the last call for his Babai Viveka from Jagan. Let’s see where and how it will ends up.
YS Vivekananda Reddy the congress party candidate from the Pulivendula assembly seat expressed confidence that he will win the election. Viveka is contesting against Vijayamma wife of late YS Rajashekar Reddy.
Viveka said that there was large scale cross voting in his favor and he is confident of victory.
The supporters of YS Jagan gave some anxious moments to the police as well as officials when they tried to stop YS Vivekananda Reddy from visiting Kanchikacherla mandal in Krishna district.
The supports of Jagan questioned Viveka and minister Parthasarathy as to why they were undertaking the visit without informing the consistency in charge of the party Vasantha Krishnaprasad.
The ugly fracas in the Assembly is turning into a major embarrassment for the government. Chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is under pressure from TDP and other members to take action against YS Vivekananda Reddy.
Some reports say that YS Vivekananada Reddy has decided to submit his resignation. His term as MLC is also ending on Tuesday.
With no congressman coming to his rescue, Viveka is now seriously mulling about continuing in the congress.
He may now side with Jagan and this will surely be a big boost to the YSR Congress.
