2007/4/27 6:10:32 Jagan, the son of Chief Minister YS Rajashekara Reddy has finally got the 487 acres of land in Kadapa district for his cement factory. Jagan was the sole bidder in the open auction of th lands.
The administration fixed the offset price of Rs. 50,000 per acre but Jagans firm bid Rs. 1,00,000 lakh per acre and bagged the lands. With this he has put to rest the controversy over the cabinet decision allotting him lands for setting up a cement factory.
2007/7/16 11:38:23 Minister JC Divakar Reddy with his unwarranted comments has put the chief minister YS Rajashekara Reddy into trouble and avoidable embarrassment. JC Divakar Reddy reacting to the disclosure about the cement factory and leasing of mines given to his driver and domestic helps said that the factory was not benami. It was his as they were all like his family members! And he said that he held mining licenses for a long time. Even the CMs son YS Jagan Mohan Reddy also holds mining licenses he pointed out. This has not gone down very well with the CM. People close to the CM say that in order to justify his wrongdoing, did JC Divakar Reddy have to sling mud on the CM and his son? Some say that it was sheer blackmailing tactics by JC. He wants to show that if he is singled out for action then he would also expose the CM or so it seems.
2007/11/12 5:28:04 The TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao stumped chief minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy over the Nizam Sugars Limited issue. The state government is now going ahead with privatizing the sugar factory. The sugar factory has vast tracts of land and some influential politicians and businessmen are eyeing this prime land.
KCR questioned the move and pointed out that Y S Rajasekar Reddy had written a strong letter to the then chief minter Chandra Babu Naidu opposing the privatization move. Now Y S Rajashekar Reddy is the chief minister. So how come he is now trying to do something which as the opposition leader, he had opposed vehemently in 2002.
CM YS Rajashekar Reddy today laid the foundation stone for the Brahmani Steel Factory. The factory ata cost of 20,000 crores is coming up on a land of about 10,761 acres at Vemaguntapalli in Jammalamadugu manadal. Speaking on the occasion the Cm said that the steel plant would be on par with the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and would provide employment to the youth in the region.
A commercial airport on a stretch of about 4,000 acres would also come up soon at Ambavaram. This would be the second airport in Kadapa district. The CM said that the works are likely to be completed by 2011. He said that would come back as CM once again.

2011/11/19 3:42:21 (IANS) Officials of Food and Drugs Administration and police Friday busted a private company in this Maharashtra city allegedly making sub-standard sauces, noodles and other popular fast food items using rotten raw material, a police official said.
A team of Nagpur Rural Police, crime branch and FDA officials swooped on the factory, Universal Products Ltd, and found huge stocks of rotten vegetables, chemicals, synthetic colours, adulterated materials and flavours used to make the fast food items.
According to investigating officer Prakash Hake of Kuhi Police Station, there was a strong stench of rotten vegetables, which were being used as the main raw material for manufacturing the fake "tomato sauce", besides chilli, chilli soya and other types of sauces and noodles.
The sub-standard sauces were sold under the brand name of 'Tim Sauces' in Nagpur and surrounding districts, he said.
"These sauces were sold in huge quantities to wayside eateries, dhabas and small hotels at cheaper rates compared to branded varieties. Though the bottles were labeled tomato sauce, there was not a single tomato in the factory premises. We have seized the raw materials worth around Rs.2 million," Hake told IANS.
He said that two senior officials of the company - with an annual turnover running into several crores of rupees per annum - have been detained even as the raids continued the whole day.
The factory is situated in an industrial zone under the jurisdiction of Kuhi Police Station, around 45 km from Nagpur city.
Hake said samples of the sauces, chemicals, synthetic colours and flavours, noodles and other stuff have been sent for chemical analysis.
As a precautionary measure, the FDA is also planning to seize unsold stocks of the sauces that have been off-loaded in the markets, he added.
