The Lok Satta chief Jayaprakash Narayana is now the target of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and the OU JAC.

The TRS chief said the party would draw its strategy once in every two during the budget session of the legislative assembly.
Reacting to the comments made by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu asking him to change the behaviour, KCR said that Naidu should not speak about morals in politics as he has encroached upon power by backstabbing his father-in-law NT Rama Rao. (INN)

Repressive govt out to foil OU students’ protest: Etela
2011/7/10 9:25:51 Telangana Rashtra Samithi Floor Leader in the Assembly Etela Rajender on Sunday alleged that the state government and police department are resorting to repressive measures and illegal arrests to foil the mass hunger fast of Osmania University Students Joint Action Committee to start from Monday at Arts College.
Talking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan, Etela Rajender said that the students of Osmania University Students Joint Action Committee are launching the hunger fast ‘peacefully and democratically’ to press for the deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders of 1975 and the introduction of the Telangana Bill in Parliament.
“However, the government is making efforts to foil the hunger fast and is resorting to illegal arrests. A heavy contingent of police forces has been deployed outside the campus they are not allowing the students inside the campus,” Mr Rajender said.
He warned Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy and Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy of serious consequences if the students who have been arrested illegally are not released and the forces withdrawn from outside the campus.(INN)
YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy's Odarpu Yatra is continuing for the 30th day. Today he starts his Yatra from Challapalli in Krishna district, where he told the students that character and credibility is more important than anything else. He said students are the backbones of the country. He didn't pass any comments on state or Central Congress party during this schedule.
During the last few days there was noticeable change in his speeches. He is more concentrating on TDP and its president Nara Chandra babu Naidu than the Congress party in his speeches now.
Ever since, he returned from New Delhi after meeting Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, he softens his language on Congress party and in return, CBI also slows down on his cases, as if it got instructions from Center not to go ahead with his cases. DL. Ravindra Reddy, the minister for health has denied that CBI slows down its investigation and interrogation on Jagan's cases. He said CBI is busy with Gali's case and that's why it appears slow down of Jagan's cases.
But, all this proves that the Congress party has really used CBI to harass Jagan Mohan Reddy and it was stopped only after he surrenders before it.
Let us see, whether this young leader will be able stick to his word or one day he also merges his party into Congress party like Chiranjeevi did few weeks ago.
2010/12/11 8:13:32 Loksatta party president Dr.Jayaprakash Narayan suggested the government that, the cases filed by the police against those who creates law and problem in the name of agitations should not be withdrawn and they should be dealt with according to law of the land. He alleges that, some political leaders and their parties are collecting huge amounts from business houses and industrialists in the name of agitations. He questioned is it not the government’s responsibility to protect the business houses and others from such people? He said ministers who are voicing for withdrawing the cases against the antisocial elements are not entitled to do so. If, in case they wants to withdraw the cases on their discretion then they should be considering themselves as they were above the law of the land otherwise they need to change the constitution to facilitate their demand. He said law and order problem shouldn’t be taken lightly, otherwise it will be an encouraging for the anti social elements in the society.”
Jaya Prakash’s pinching statement annoys the pro Telangana activists, OU students and especially TRS leaders who feel guilty of carrying the blame of collecting the ransoms from the industrialists and business houses. KCR’s son and the senior leader of TRS party, the vociferous K.Taraka Rama Rao reacting to JP’s statement said “We want to know whether, so called self styled intellectual JP can prove his allegations in the assembly? If, he continues this kind of practice, we will chase him out of Hyderabad. He is insulting the 4 crores of Telangana people and their agitations with his statements. We demand him for an unconditional apology for this. Otherwise, we warn him to face consequences.”
Its to be observed that, Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan suggested the Government not to be lean on withdrawing the cases whether its about Telangana or Seemandhra regions. He demanded that all the culprits irrelevant of their place should be brought to book. Though, he didn’t specifically named any person or party, TRS and its leaders who feel guilty with his statement came first to counter him. But, why?
2010/12/28 7:28:29 Telangana Congress MPs who starts an indefinite hunger strike drama on Monday, demanding the withdrawal of all cases filed against the students, have concluded their two day long hunger strike drama in the evening, as the Government has agreed in principal to withdraw all the cases filed against the students. Nowadays, it become an obligation for all the politicians and their parties to play this hunger strike drama to claim the credit over certain matters for themselves, otherwise they fear it will be hijacked by some other parties. Telangana TDP leaders, who were obliged to wait until 30th December to start hunger strike on this subject, have lost the opportunity to made their claims over this issue, as its now debited into Congress account.
2007/4/19 6:18:54 This is perhaps for the first time in the history of the state when four students dragged their professors onto the street and bashed them up. The incident occurred at the Kakatiya University at Warangal. About 100 students gathered at the the Physics department and beat up four professors.
They alleged that about 14 students have been deliberately failed in MSc. Physics third semester by the professors. What is strange is that all of them are toppers and one of them is a university topper. The students allege that the Professors are showing undue favours on laggards and have deliberately failed the bright students.
One of the ‘failed’ students tried to commit suicide which triggered off the ugly incident.

2011/10/26 21:28:40 (IANS) The United States has assured India that it was "continuing to work" on the issue of hundreds of Indian students affected by the "horrible visa scam" by California based "sham" Tri-Valley University. Some 85 percent of over 1500 TVU students were Indian, mostly from Andhra Pradesh.
US authorities are reviewing a letter sent by the Indian Ambassador Nirupama Rao to the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton asking that the cases of Indian students should be viewed in a "fair and reasonable manner," State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland told reporters Wednesday,
"She has (received), and we are reviewing that letter, and we intend to answer it," she said when asked if the treatment meted out to some of the Indian students affected by the closure of the university was justified.
"We had a pretty horrible visa scam, where a fake university petitioned and got visas for a bunch of students to come over and then actually turned out not to be a real educational institution," Nuland said.
"So we did take action, federal authorities closed down Tri-Valley University on January 11th, and we've also been working very hard, as we have told Indian authorities, to try to find other places in the US for these students who got scammed," she said.
As of Oct 19, 435 of the 1,500 former Tri-Valley University students were approved to be processed for transfer to other universities, she said. "And of the remaining cases, some students we're not going to be able place, but we're continuing to work on this issue."
Asked about the role of State Department officials in issue of visas to the students of the sham university, the official said: "Well, we issue visas on the basis of documentation that we get from institutions in the United States.
"So when we became aware of this, we turned it over for judicial review, and as I said, this scamming institution has now been closed down by US justice authorities."
The State Department in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and US Citizenship and Immigration Service, Nuland said, all "were involved in the busting of this group."
TVU president Susan Xiao-Ping Su, 41, was indicted in May by a federal grand jury on allegations of visa fraud and money laundering to the tune of $3.2 million by issuing visa-related documents to students in exchange for "tuition and fees".
