Statues to be allowed 25 years after death: Minister

2012/1/30 9:15:56 The state cabinet sub-committee has met today to discuss the ongoing statues desecration cases and to draft the rules and regulations for installing the statues in the state.

I agree late YSR is a great person and his statues can be spared from this condition. However, there should be certain guidelines for everything."

However, one can't suspect the honesty of sub-committee as it is expected to find a solution to the ongoing desecration of statues of eminent personalities in the state.

Statues thrown into Hussein Sagar lake

2011/3/10 7:09:51 It is a black day in the history of Andhra Pradesh. During the million march lead by Prof.Kodhandaram, Gaddar and many TRS leaders, the peaceful march takes violent shape and ends with the rampage by the Telangana people. They have damaged the statues of SriKrishna Devaraya, Sri Sri, Gurram Jashuva, Pingali Venkayya (The man who designed our Tri Colored flag); Kandukuri Veeresalingam; Annamayya, Erra Pragada, Molla and many other statues. While, many of them partially damaged some of them completely damaged and thrown into Hussein Sagar by the protesters.

However, TRS leaders allege that, it is not the Telangana people or TRS workers but the police who come in civil dress have damaged the statutes to create tensions between the Seemandhra and Telangana people. This indicates that, none of the Telangana leaders including K.Chandrashekar Rao are regretting for the grave mischief.

Quite surprisingly, the police and Para military forces which have cordoned the city from the early morning have simply remains silent spectators of this disgraceful incident. The leaders who are not capable of leading the agitations in a peaceful way, are making the state Government responsible for this incident!

(We are not publishing the images of the damaged statues to avoid the heart brake for the Telugu people.)

    YSR Statues cause major concern

2011/1/19 21:34:34 YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s ‘Odarpu Yatra’ across the Andhra region might be intended to console the victim’s families. But, to be frank it is the one last reason of his strategic political moves. He uses these tours for building necessary infrastructure for his forthcoming political party and to create cadres for it. Wherever he visits, workers and leaders from the Congress, TDP and even from Praja Rajyam party were being inducted into his camp, which indicates the political intentions of this young politician.

On the other hand, one more thing he does in all his tours is installing his father late YSR’s statues all over the places. Although, initially it was considered it as part of a routine political procedure , the pace and the quantity of installing the statues of late YSR now gradually become a major cause of concern to the people and local authorities of the government. Because, some second grade political leaders from various parties who want to develop a close contact with this upcoming leader orders for hundreds of YSR statues and obliges him install everywhere, thus creating political clashes between the people in the rural areas and traffic problems in the urban areas.

It is learnt that, as on today more than 5000 statues were installed all over the state and it may further multiple in the coming days. If this practice continues further it not only creates a negative image for the late leader but also to his ambitious son Jagan Mohan Reddy. After all one should know that, a real tribute to the great leader would be the all round development of the society and certainly not installing thousands of his statues.

    Govardhan criticizes Naidu

2012/1/30 15:45:31 YSR Congress Party leader Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy on Monday said that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s statement that if he came to power his party would destroy all statues of the late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy might have provoked the desecration of Dr B R Ambedkar’s statues.

Talking to media persons at YSR Congress party office here, Mr Govardhan Reddy condemned the desecration of statues and demanded that the government nab the perpetrators instead of leveling charges against commoners.

Suspecting a wide conspiracy behind these acts, he said that only a thorough probe would reveal who the real culprits were. Instead of arresting small fish, the ACB should catch big sharks involved in the liquor scam, he said. (INN)
