YSR Congress Party leader Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy on Monday said that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s statement that if he came to power his party would destroy all statues of the late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy might have provoked the desecration of Dr B R Ambedkar’s statues.
Talking to media persons at YSR Congress party office here, Mr Govardhan Reddy condemned the desecration of statues and demanded that the government nab the perpetrators instead of leveling charges against commoners.
Suspecting a wide conspiracy behind these acts, he said that only a thorough probe would reveal who the real culprits were. He took a serious note of the fact that Anti Corruption Bureau was not taking any action against Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana despite his alleged links with liquor syndicate.
Instead of arresting small fish, the ACB should catch big sharks involved in the liquor scam, he said. (INN)
2011/9/27 7:16:45 The Telugu Desam Party has suffered another T-shock on Tuesday when its MLA decided to quit the party and join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
According to sources, Kamareddy MLA Gampa Govardhan will be joining the TRS by resigning from the TDP. Govardhan, a second-time MLA from Kamareddy Assembly constituency, is said to have met TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday at TRS Bhavan and discussed about his entry into the TRS. The sources say that Govardhan might announce his decision on joining the TRS in a day or two.
Govardhan's exit from the TDP would be a major shock for the party as he would be second MLA from the Nizamabad district to resign. This would also brand the TDP as an anti-Telangana party and would also tarnish the image of TDP Telangana Forum members.
Earlier, former minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy had quit Telugu Desam and joined TRS on whose ticket he is seeking re-election from Banswada constituency to be held on October 13 by-elections.
After Pocharam, Nagarkurnool MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy from Mahbubnagar along with Harishwar Reddy, Jogu Ramanna and Venugopala Chary have submitted their resignations from party's primary membership and MLA posts differing with party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Telangana state.
Analysts say that with the Telangana agitation reaching its peak, the TRS is trying to lure both the TDP and Congress MLAs into its fold in order to emerge as the strong political group in the region. The Telugu Desam has 12 MLAs in the region and all of them are willing to switch their loyalties and believed to be in close touch with TRS chief and his close aides, sources said. (INN)
2011/11/14 15:00:06 Kamareddy MLA Gampa Goverdhan has been summoned by Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar in connection with the resignation that the former has submitted from the MLA's post after he quit Telugu Desam Party to join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
Govardhan has been asked to appear before the Speaker at 3 pm on Tuesday. Sources say that Assembly Secretary Raja Sadaram telephoned Govardhan asking him to give clarification and verify that he has submitted the resignation from the Kamareddy seat.
It may be mentioned that Govardhan, who elected on TDP ticket in 2009 elections, resigned from the party on September 29 to join the TRS. He also submitted his resignation to the MLA's post. (INN)

Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office, Govardhan said that the recent protest by eight Congress MPs from the region in the Lok Sabha led Congress president Sonia Gandhi to believe that she was being blackmailed to take an early decision on Telangana. He said the behaviour of Lok Sabha MPs did not look like an appeal, but it was more like a protest done by opposition members.
Govardhan said that the protest by eight Lok Sabha MPs has further delayed the decision on the Telangana as it has angered the Congress president. He said that the MPs have a right to mount pressure on the Congress High Command, but they should soften their mode of protest. He advised the Lok Sabha MPs to change their behaviour to ensure an early decision on the Telangana by the Centre.
The Rajya Sabha MP said that the Lok Sabha MPs should also ensure their behaviour does not affect the prospects of Congress party in the region.

Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office, Govardhan Reddy said that instead of trying to hide the facts from the people, the Congress party should publicly admit the 'misdeeds' done by YSR and apologise for the same. He suggested that Congress Legislature Party and Pradesh Congress Committee pass a resolution tendering apology to the public for YSR's corruption and illegal activities.
Govardhan Reddy said that he has repeatedly claimed that YSR was a corrupt politician and still maintain the same stand. He said attempts to conceal YSR's corruption would have an adverse impact on the Congress party and people would never vote for it. He said there were some Congress leaders who are still praising YSR as they got benefitted from his corruption.
The Rajya Sabha MP said that much damage has already been caused and by tendering an apology the Congress party could minimise the damage in next elections. He also demanded that the Congress High Command take stern action against the leaders who are making anti-party statements.

And unless and until it is of some utmost importance, no meeting with the PM can be arranged at short notice. Babu has been faulted for rushing to Delhi without having a confirmed appointment. The move by Babu to make it a big issue has now fizzled out with the PM giving him an appointment today at 6.00 pm.
2012/2/1 14:29:43 Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had totally failed in redressing the grievances of people.
Talking to media persons at the state party office here, Venkaiah Naidu said that the governance in the state came to stand still during the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. He said that development of state was affected due to agitations on various issues—fee reimbursement, junior doctors’ protest and dharna by textile traders against VAT.
As the government had totally failed in addressing these issues, the state had been witnessing agitations frequently and that was affecting development, he stated.
Also, the government failed to honour promises made to employees from the Telangana region during Sakala Janula Samme, he said. He also came down heavily on the state government for not responding to the farmers’ woes who were affected by severe drought due to inadequate rains and failing to bring in Central team to estimate the crop losses. He asked as to why the state government did not taking any decision on tenders for Polavaram, which were mired in controversy.
Criticizing the government for politicizing the appointments of State Information Commissioners, he sought explanation from the government to the people on the issue. He also questioned Speaker Nadendla Manohar on why he was dragging his feet on initiating disqualification actions on 16 rebel MLAs, who switched loyalties during No Confidence Motion against the government.

Accusing the Telugu Desam Party of trying to brand Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy as ‘anti-BC’, the YSR Congress Party on Friday said that its president has always advocated the implementation of 34 per cent quota for BCs for political parties.
YSR Congress Party spokesperson Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy told media persons at Sagar Society, the party’s head office, that the statements made by Telugu Desam Party politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu are not only condemnable, they are an attempt to brand Mr Jaganmohan Reddy as anti-BC.
Mr Ramakrishnudu had said that the YSR Congress Party president has no commitment over reservations for Backward Classes in Local Body elections.
Mr Govardhan Reddy pointed out atht Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had blamed the state government of postponing the elections to Local Bodies with an intention to reduce reservation for Backward Class communities.
He further reminded that the YSR Congress Party chief had asked all political parties to implement 34 pc quota for BCs, apart from giving them chance in open category.
Mr Govardhan Reddy appealed to state government to convene an all-party meeting to resolve the issue of reservations for BCs in Panchayat Raj institutions.
He further advised the Telangana elected representatives to submit their resignations over separate statehood demand to the Assembly Speaker instead of issuing threatening statements in New Delhi.
Instead of setting deadlines over Telangana, they can submit their resignations to Speaker, he said.(INN)
2011/6/28 8:53:18 Nalgonda MP Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy on Tuesday described Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal as `villain of Telangana’ for obstructing the formation of the separate state.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Komatireddy Rajagopal asked Mr Rajagopal to change his attitude towards Telangana and warned that the people would not allow him in the region if he does not do so.

He said the Telangana MPs, Ministers, MLAs and MLCs would meet on July 1 to chalk out the future course of action to be adopted on the controversial issue.
The meeting will discuss on Telangana Political Joint Action Committee’s demand for resignation of elected representatives for the cause of Telangana, Mr Komatireddy stated.
Earlier, Mr Komatireddy met Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana along with Munugodu Congress workers and lodged a complaint against MLC Palwai Govardhan over his arrogant attitude.
They alleged that because of Mr Govardhan’s attitude, the party is losing its sheen in the constituency.(INN)
2012/2/15 2:20:12 So far, PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana is used to condemn the media reports of having differences with Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. But, today he comes out of his shell and openly criticizes Kiran Kumar Reddy for the same reasons.
Today, speaking to media in the Assembly lobby said "Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu seems to be having a clear understanding with our Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy over Information Commissioners nomination. Our CM also assures him that he will complete the process with the consent of all the members, which indicates they are one in this issue. There are several such examples to say they have a clear understanding between them."
So far we have seen TDP and TRS blaming each other of having secret pact with Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. But, with Botsa's latest statement it becomes clear that Chandrababu and Kiran Kumar Reddy have a good understanding over several issues. Polavaram tenders issue has proved that KCR is also had a secret pact with Kiran Kumar Reddy.
So, this is the first time in Andhra Pradesh state history that a ruling Congress Chief Minister join hands with opposition leaders to let his Government run.
Chiranjeevi is just like a new beggar in Cong: Roja
2012/1/10 15:37:51 Veteran actress Roja speaking from 'Raitu Deeksha' venue in Armoor has flayed Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, Chiranjeevi and Chandrababu Naidu with severe words. She described Chiranjeevi as a new beggar in the Congress party. "Kiran Kumar Reddy and his Government are of no use to farmers. He talks more and works less. Even though everyone criticizes him and his Government, his Government carelessly moves like Buffalo in the rain. He not even has experience as a Minister. Yet, he becomes CM of the state. Chandrababu is also nothing less to him. He encouraged the police to book cases against the farmers during his regime. Former Chief Minister late YS Rajashekar Reddy alone has strived hard for the welfare of the farmers and the poor people. If, we elect his son Jagan Mohan Reddy to power definitely he will implement all the welfare schemes of his father," said Roja.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has reached the venue around 7pm with more than 100 cars following him in convoy. No major untoward incidents take place on his way to Armoor except facing some protests by TRS cadres in some places.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has assured the farmers that he will pressurize the Congress Government until it resolves all their problems.

Allu Sirish who is quite active on Twitter is also earning the name of a hot headed person. Sirish has now come up with another comment that is sure to bruise the ego of top directors in Telugu.
Sirish said that these directors take pride in shouting from the rooftops that they made the film with a whopping budget. They seem to feel that making films on a big budget was a great achievement.
Sirish wondered why no director even claims that he made a film on a budget like one crore! In the present times the directors feel ashamed to make low budget film.
