    Surekha call for resignations

    2011/1/7 1:11:34
The die hard follower of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and former minister Konda Surekha has thrown a challenge to Telangana Congress MLA and MPs asking them to resign from their posts if they are really sincere about Telangana cause.

She said, If, still we want to retain our posts and as well as demand for separate state it would be a big joke of the year. We have to sacrifice our posts for Telangana cause. I am ready to resign to my MLA post. Are you all people in Congress ready to resign now? Unless, we tender our resignation letters, its not possible to achieve statehood for Telangana. I once again ask you all to resign and pressurize the party high command in favor of Telangana state.

She might have sincerely advised the Congress leaders, but, being in the Jagans camp others see her action as a Jagans hand in Surekhas glows. However, all the Telangana Congress leaders, MLAs and Ministers had a meeting at Nizam club to discuss their future course of action regarding the T issue. Some of them suggested sending a committee to New Delhi to give their representation to Sonia Gandhi in this regard. But, its learnt that majority of them have opposed the idea.

The Telangana Congress leaders opined that they would consider heading for New Delhi if Azad withdraw his comments made in China.

It may be recalled that Azad said that unanimous resolution of Assembly was mandatory for the formation of Telangana state. Azad said the formation of Telangana and its related issue cannot move an inch without the State Assembly passing a unanimous resolution.

There is no necessity to go for New Delhi for discussions on Telangana, a few leaders said.

However, a few of steering committee members opined that they would meet other Core committee members except Azad to discuss on Telangana issue.

They said they are ready to meet Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Core committee member and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

With Telangana Congress leaders not responding to Azads call, the Congress high command is in a shock and thinking on other options.

With Seemandhra leaders in New Delhi holding discussions, the high command wants to convene a meeting with Telangana Congress leaders to find a solution to the controversial statehood issue.(INN)
