KCR to re-visit Delhi on Oct 11

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday stated that he would visit New Delhi once again on October 11 to meet the Congress core committee members - Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and Defence Minister A K Antony.

Talking to media persons before heading to Hyderabad, the TRS president said that he could not meet Pranab Mukherjee and A K Anthony due to their busy schedule. He said he would meet them on October 11 and brief them about the prevailing situation in the Telangana state and seriousness of employees general strike. He said that he would appeal core committee members to find an early solution to Telangana issue and put an end to uncertainty in the state.

When the reporters asked him about Pranab Mukherjee’s comments on Telangana, KCR refused to react saying that he would comment only after completely studying the statement. Earlier, talking to a private news channel Pranab Mukherjee described Telangana as a highly complex issue and said it was difficult to set a time frame for its solution.

Responding to another question, KCR said that he was yet to decide whether to bring Telangana Political Joint Action Committee members along with him on October 11 visit. (INN)

    KCR postpones Delhi visit

2011/10/11 5:26:10 Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao has cancelled his visit to the national capital which was scheduled to begin from Tuesday.

According to party sources, KCR's visit to New Delhi has been cancelled in view of latest developments in the State capital of Hyderabad. The announcement of withdrawal of strike by one of the RTC Employees' unions and arrests of several Telangana leaders across the region since Monday has reportedly forced KCR to cancel his New Delhi's visit. "He will stay in Hyderabad to monitor and intensify the Telangana agitation," a TRS leader said.

During his last visit to New Delhi early this month, KCR has met several national leaders including Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to press for the demand for formation of Telangana State. However, he could not meet Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Home Minister P Chidambaram and Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad who were engaged in consultation process to resolve the Telangana issue.

KCR was planning to meet these leaders during New Delhi's visit this time. However, in view of changed circumstances in Hyderabad, he was forced to cancel the visit. The TRS has not specified when KCR will visit the national capital again. (INN)

    Governor Narasimhan at New Delhi!

2011/1/1 17:51:35 AP State Governor Narasimhans visit to New Delhi raises many eye brows. When media asked him whether he come to submit his report on the prevailing situation of the state he replied I came here only to convey New Year greetings to some important persons and VVIPs and it is purely a personal visit. I didnt come here to submit any report or to talk about the political issues with anybody.

I am no way connected with Sri Krishna Committee or its report. They have done their job very precisely. I play the role of a father to the state and to the Government. I just give my suggestions to Chief Minister and to the Government, like a father gives to his family members. Whether, they like it or not and they implements it or not is not my concern.

When media asked him why is he coming again on 8th to New Delhi, flashing a wide smile he asked them Does the media keep an eye on all my programs and activities?

Answering to another question, he said I have told you that, after December 31st January1st will come and hell is not going to break upon the state. Now, we have seen the same thing happens now. After December 31st, January first has come. I am sure that, this New Year will bring peace and prosperity to the people and the state.

Modi to showcase Gujarat in China

    2011/10/30 8:03:26

New Delhi, Oct 30 (IANS) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi may not be welcome in the US, but China is ready to roll out the red carpet for him as he gears up to visit the world's fastest growing economy and Asian powerhouse next month.

Modi is likely to visit China Nov 8, reliable sources told IANS. The visit has been cleared by the external affairs ministry.

Modi is expected to make a pitch for greater Chinese investment in Gujarat and showcase his state as a hub for foreign investment. In particular, Modi is likely to discuss the prospects of Huawei, China's biggest telecom company which has a considerable presence in India, investing in Gujarat.

China has been impressed by the economic transformation of Gujarat in the last decade and the massive foreign investment it has attracted in different sectors. When China's Vice Minister Ai Ping visited Gujarat last week, he had lauded Gujaratis' contribution to business development in different countries, including China. He had also extended an invitation to Modi to visit China.

Modi is expected to seek Chinese assistance to develop a "Gautam Buddha circuit", that includes constructing a temple where Buddha's relics would be preserved, to attract tourists to the state.

Modi's visit will take place soon after Nur Bekri, chairman of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China, visits New Delhi and Mumbai next week to explore investment opportunities.

The visit by regional leaders has become a trend of sorts lately, with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar going to China in June. Kumar's visit was focused on cooperation in the field of infrastructure, agriculture and rural development.

Despite differences over a host of issues, economic ties between India and China have been showing a steady upswing.

The two countries recently held their maiden strategic economic dialogue to exchange their experiences in macro-economic management and to address issues like the growing trade imbalance in favour of Beijing.

Bilateral trade is already touching $60 billion, with both sides confident of scaling it up to $100 billion.
