Kanimoli the daughter of Karunanidhi has knocked the Supreme Court doors today for bail, after the Delhi High Court rejects her bail application. She and the Kalaingar TV Channel Director Sarath Kumar have filed bail petitions in Supreme Court on Friday. Earlier, Supreme Court also refuses to sanction bail to them, yet they are desperately trying for the bail. If, she couldn’t get the bail this time, certainly it is going to affect Congress and DMK relations very badly.
2011/11/3 2:28:16 It is once again a great disappointment to the DMK party Chief Karunanidhi family and to his darling daughter Kanimoli who was resting in Tihar Jail since last five months. The Patiala Court has rejected the bail petition of Kanimoli and 7 others and adjourned the case to 11th of November.
Kanimoli, her family members and her party leaders are very hopeful about her release as CBI has said 'it has no objection to grant bail for Kanimoli.' Hence, her mother, husband, son and veteran actress and currently DMK party leader Kushbhu and some others who came to court were very much disappointed with the court decision. Especially, Kanimoli and her family members become very emotional and virtually wept after hearing the court's decision.
2011/5/30 7:38:55 Chiranjeevi’s son-in-law Sirish Bharadwaj who is facing dowry harassment case filed by his wife Srija had another set back today with his bail application. When, the High Court rejected his bail application, he knocks Supreme Court doors. But, there also he got rejection. Today, Supreme Court has refused to grant him bail. Hence, he has no other option except surrendering to police and face trial in the court.
Srija is currently staying with her parents and is planning to make her career in producing serials in small screen.
2011/11/2 18:37:22 It may be a quite coincidence but the bail petitions of Gali Janardhan Reddy and DMK chief Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimoli will come before the concerned courts on the same day of Thursday. While, Kanimoli's bail application will be taken-up by CBI special court at New Delhi, Gali's bail petition will come before court at Hyderabad.
Since CBI has made it clear that it has no objections for the release of Kanimoli, she may be released today if everything goes smooth. But, CBI doesn't want Gali release on bail as it afraid he may destroy the evidences of his illegal mining cases. So, his release is very doubtful. CBI also summons YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy to its office on November 4th to interrogate him in connection with Obulapuram mining case. So, CBI may ask the court not to grant bail to Gali Janardhan Reddy.
2011/6/9 6:33:16 Former Tamilnadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimoli, who was arrested by CBI, is passing through the worst period of her life at Tihar Jail. Delhi high court has once again rejected her bail application on Wednesday. The court also opines that, according to the primary investigation reports she is guilty in 2G spectrum case. Hence, if she is given bail the court opines she may influence the witnesses of the case.
Soon after the court announce its decision over her bail plea, back at home DMK party holds an emergency meeting presided by its party president Karunanidhi. Sooner or later, DMK may slash its alliance with UPA Government over this issue. Hence, Congress party is also looking for alliance with AIADMK led by Kum Jaya Lalitha, with which it rigorously fought the elections battle recently.
2011/9/30 23:55:26 Once again Supreme Court has rejected the bail plea of Parliament member and DMK president Karunanidhi's daughter Kanimoli's bail plea. The court adjourned her bail petition case to 17th of October. She was arrested and sent to Tihar jail 3 months ago for her involvement in 2G scam and Rs. 200 crores scam in which the amount was allegedly transferred into Kalaingar TV Channel owned by Karunanidhi family members.
2011/6/13 10:07:34 Despite being the daughter of Karunanidhi who supports UPA Government and being Rajya Sabha Member Kanimoli couldn’t get a bail for herself. Supreme Court has adjourned the case of her bail petition to June 20th, with which she is obliged to complete one month jail term along with her companions former Tele Communications Minister Raja and Sarat Kumar the director of Kalaingar TV Channel. SC also postpones the bail application of Sarat Kumar to same date.
It has asked the CBI to explain with in a week time on why they both shouldn’t be granted bail. SC also asked about the Rs. 200 crores that was allegedly transferred into Kalaingar TV Channel owned by Karunanidhi family members.
Neither Karunanidhi nor his AIADMK party is in a position to black mail the UPA Government, because DMK party lead by Jaya Lalitha has offered to support it incase Karunanidhi withdraws his support. Hence, he is in helpless situation and badly waiting for his turn to strike the UPA Government.
2011/10/31 4:24:22 (IANS) The Supreme Court Monday asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to clarify whether it has not opposed the bail pleas of five accused in the 2G scam before the trial court.
The apex court bench of Justice G.S. Singhvi and Justice H.L. Dattu sought the clarification from the probe agency after senior counsel Ram Jethmalani, appearing for an accused, told the court that the CBI did not oppose the bail plea of the five accused.
The CBI Oct 24 told Special Court Judge O.P. Saini that it had no objection to bail being given to DMK MP Kanimozhi, promoters of Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Asif Balwa and Rajeev B. Agarwal, Cineyug Film's Karim Morani and Kalaignar TV's managing director Sharad Kumar. The court reserved its order on their bail applications for Nov 3.
The apex court judges said: "We want to ask when you are so sure that they won't temper with the evidence then what is the necessity for the trial judge to keep them behind the bars."
The court told Additional Solicitor General Harin Raval: "In view of what has transpired in the trial court, it would be appropriate to seek instructions and tell us Tuesday."
2011/5/21 22:06:43 Prince Mahesh babu’s wife Namrata who was also an actress in the past has confined to home after marrying the prince. Later, she was never found in any of the news headlines until now. But, recently she has provided some stuff to news-hungry media people. Namrata has filed a petition in Nampalli court against her carpenter who flees away with some amount paid by her for doing some carpentry work in her home. Hence, the court orders Jubilee Hills police to file case against the carpenter and to trace out him to recover money from him.
Supreme Court has ordered the committee members who were assigned to unearth the huge treasure from the 6 basement rooms of Ananta Padmanabha Swamy temple, in Trivandrum, Kerala not to open the 6th room doors, as it is linked with people’s beliefs.
There was a snake symbol (Nagabandham) on the doors of the 6th room, which the people believe is harmful to the state and to the country if opened. Many argue that, if the committee members try to open the 6th room doors certainly it will adversely affect their lives as well as the people’s lives. Hence, they demand not to open the 6th room doors, instead think about what to do with the Rs. 5 lakhs crores worth treasure found in the five rooms. The court also orders not to reveal the value of the treasure and not to release any photos of it as a precautionary measure. It also orders the committee members to record the entire process with video cameras so as there will be video evidence for the treasure.
2011/8/23 1:22:29 We have seen PM and CM giving clean chits to their subordinates to save their skins. But, here in 2G spectrum case MP and DMK chief daughter Kanimoli who was arrested by the CBI and now resting beside the king of corruptions A. Raja in Tihar Jail has issued a clean chit to Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh, then Finance Minister and present home Minister P.Chidambaram and also to her close aide A. Raja. She told the CBI Court that, all these people are really opposed the sale of spectrum licenses. Her lawyer Sushil Kumar has handed over the copy of her statement to the CBI judge OP Shainy a short while ago.
So, we need not to look suspicious at these leaders as they got a clean chit from one of the accused.
2012/2/1 7:05:26 The illegal mining kings Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brother Gali Srinivasa Reddy who are now behind bars have created a new record with their bail petitions. Both of they are desperately trying to get bail, but in vain. The courts are turning down their bail pleas. For the 4th time, the court has rejected their bail pleas again.

While posting the petition for further hearing, the court asked the Srilakshmi’s counsel to file a counter petition in this connection before December 26.

After Srilakshmi's release on bail, former APMDC director V D Rajagopal too contended that he deserved bail as he was a retired official and in no way could tamper the evidences. He was granted bail, but the court stayed the same after a few hours. Later, the High Court too stayed Rajagopal's bail. (INN)

Disposing a petition filed by CBI, the High Court objected to CBI special court granting bail to Acharya when the case was progressing actively. While cancelling the bail, the High Court directed Acharya to surrender before the court immediately.
Earlier on March 16, the CBI Special Court granted bail to Acharya taking cognizance of charge-sheet and the CBI failing to secure sanction from the Government of India to prosecute Acharya.

Earlier, Kanimozhi has requested the CBI special court that, she should be granted bail as she is mother of two children whom she has to look after. However, court didn’t consider this point suitable for giving bail to her. Once again, Kanimozhi’s advocate has appealed the high court with same reasons, but again the court has ignored her plea.[

2011/8/4 2:42:04 The XXI Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Thursday rejected the bail petition filed by former Satyam Computers chairman B Ramalinga Raju and seven others.
Raju and his co-accused had applied for bail before the Court, stating that the trial has not been completed by July 31.
The Supreme Court had earlier given the accused in the sensational account fraud scam the option to file a bail plea only after July 31, if the trial is not completed by the local court by this time.
The Court rejected the bail plea of the accused after the CBI argued that there has been no change in circumstances.
Raju’s counsel however contended that the circumstances have indeed changed. Besides this, Raju’s counsel said that his client’s good behaviour and his willingness to cooperate with the investigative authorities must also be taken account and bail be granted to him.
However, the CBI argued that once bail is granted, the accused can tamper with the evidence and try to influence the witnesses.
Raju’s brother and former Satyam Computers managing director B Rama Raju had also applied for bail on Tuesday.
Raju and his co-accused have been languishing behind the bars since November last year after the Supreme Court had cancelled the bail granted to them by the High Court.(INN)
