Why, the media downplayed Jagan's hunger strike?

2011/2/24 10:28:05 The one week long ‘Feesu Poru’ hunger strike by YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy has come to an end today (Thursday) evening with taking lime juice from Vara Lakshmi’s (deceased student) parents. However, the State Government has turned its blind eye on his hunger strike, since he was considered as the rival of Congress party. It not even sent doctors to monitor his health condition, until there was hue and cry from his followers.

Apart from this, many leading news channels which always boost themselves as the messiahs of the society have failed to project his noble fight, which would have created certain pressure on State Government in releasing the funds to the poor students.
All most all the news channels have down played in giving coverage to his week long hunger strike. Only one or two news channels have given a fair coverage of his strike in their news bulletins. Some even, spreads a negative talk about his noble fight, because of professional jealousy.

All this happens because, they see him as their contender who owns Sakshi media network, but definitely not considered his noble cause behind his fight. Therefore, Jagan’s noble fight for fees reimbursement has gone drain without getting any assurance from the State Government and lacking support from media networks. But, the 26 lakhs students and their parents must have understood the sincerity of his week long hunger strike.

Initially, BJP and some other political parties have shared platform to express their solidarity for his hunger strike. But, when the political parties tried to use his strike to get political mileage he is not allowing any political party to share his platform. He kept all the politicians and their parties at bay.

    Jagan sitting for hunger strike?

2010/12/13 8:12:05 YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy who recently came out of Congress party and announced plan to launching a new political party within 45days, takes the state congress by storm. Right now, he is in Krishna district consoling the farmers who lost their paddy due to untimely heavy rains. Jagan addressing the huge gathering at Machilipatnam said that, he is giving a week time to the state Government to act quickly and to help the farmers. Otherwise, he said, will sit for a 48hrs hunger strike on 21st and 22nd of this month at Vijayawada. He demanded to waive off the loans taken by the farmers for the Karrif session.

State Congress which fails to predict this surprise move by Jagan was under terrible shock. The beleaguered cadres of the congress in the district were also looking for an immediate reaction and help from the state leadership, otherwise it fears loosing a huge cadre to Jagan.

Jagan’s sudden declaration of sitting hunger strike virtually pulls the strings of the local cadres. Already many of them came under his influence and the rest is feared to follow him once he starts hunger strike. Now, Jagan throws the ball into congress court and waiting for a serve.
