Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘angry young man’ image not only helped him to ascend the ladder of success but also highlighted him as a sculpted actor. His iconic image which came through films like ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Trishul’, ‘Kala Paththar’, etc, became a benchmark and gave a new dimension to his career.
The 61 year old actor is all set to reprise his Angry Young Man look which had such far-reaching cultural impact and is ready to get into the garb of an old man for his forthcoming film ‘Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap’.
The film is produced by A B Corp in association with Viacom 18. Puri Jagganath will be directing the movie.
It is believed the movie is a rom-com starring Hema Malini and south actress Charmee in lead role opposite Big B. Rumour has it that the movie will present AB at his iconic best and is sure to recreate his old towering image in a brand new avatar of an ‘angry old man’ although the film will have a lot of comedy in it. Big B will be seen as a short tempered old man who gets angry easily. Blogging about the film Bachchan said, “Its official now. The title of the next AB Corp production will be spelt “BBUDDAH”, with the tag line … ‘hoga terra baap!’ Just making sure it does not mingle with Gautam Buddha, the saint,” said Amitabh while showing his concern that audience might get misguided by its title.
The superstar creates a new record by singing the title track of his forthcoming film ‘Bbuddah – Hoga Terra Baap’ in ‘Acapella’ style – a first ever in India!
For those who are new to the concept, Acapella music is a solo or a group vocal or singing without any instrumental sound. Interestingly, Music directors Vishal – Shekhar had been planning to do something unique with Mr Bachchan since quite sometime and they came up with the idea of using the acapella style to create a memorable number for ‘Bbuddah’. When the duo approached Mr Bachchan with this suggestion, they were in for a pleasant surprise when the actor immediately agreed to do it!
Music director, Shekhar Ravjiani, elaborated, “We wanted to try something new with this song. We did the basic setup and then Mr. Bachchan replaced every track with his voice. Mr. He recreated the sounds of approximately 10 to 12 instruments, from drum to bass to the snare to the chorus. In a nut shell, he did everything required to make a song!”
A source from the film says, “Given Mr. Bachchan’s multi-talented persona, it is no surprise that he took this challenge up very sportingly and was very excited about doing something new. He gave his best and the result is for everyone to see. Every sound you hear in the title track is created by Mr Bachchan himself! This is the first time that the ‘Acapella’ style of singing has been used in Indian cinema and we owe it to Mr. Bachchan for introducing us to something so unique!”
Well, the powerhouse that he is, Mr. Bachchan raises the bar higher every single time he tries his hand at absolutely anything!
Produced by Viacom18 & AB Corp, ‘Bbuddah – Hoga Terra Baap’ is written & directed by Puri Jagannadh and also stars Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon, Sonu Sood, Sonal Chauhan, Southern actress Charmi & South Indian baddie Prakash Raj.
2011/3/8 8:31:03 Puri Jagannath’s ambitious project ‘BBUDDAH’ with a tag line- ‘Hoga terra baap… ‘shooting started at Mumbai. (Amitabh Bachchan who don’t want to mingle his film title ‘Buddha’ with India’s great saint ‘Goutam Buddha’ has asked the people and media to spell his film title as BBUDDAH instead of Buddha.)
Yesteryear dream girl Hema Malini, Raveena Tandon and Charmi are playing female leads against Amitabh Bachchan in this film. Puri Jagannath is directing and Amitabh’s AB Corporation is producing it in collaboration with Vicom 18.
It’s a full length of comedy packed film, in which the 60 year old Amitabh Bachchan believes and bluffs the people as he was around 25 years age. Though, he projects himself as young, his short temper and his attempts to conceal the aging factors create enough fun. Besides, there will be Hema Malini and the other two beauties pinching him all the way, that will surely makes the audiences burst with laughs.
Puri Jagannath is planning to complete the film in flat 45 days schedule and release it before end of April or in the first week of May.

2011/7/4 23:42:32 Director Puri Jagannath, who is enjoying the success of his debut Hindi film ‘Bbuddah’ hoga tere baap’ has announced that, soon he will remake this film into Telugu. But, he didn’t mention any actor’s name for this movie. Right now, he has to start his next movie ‘The Businessman’ with Mahesh babu. Later, he has commitment for his 2nd movie with Abhishek Bachchan. He also promised to direct Chiranjeevi’s 150th movie. But, neither of them has made any commitments about starting the movie.
Since, remaking of ‘Bbuddah’ movie and directing Abhishek Bachchan’s movie is in his hands Puri may utilize the rare opportunity of directing Chiranjeevi’s movie as his 1st preference. The other reason to take-up Chiranjeevi’s movie is the instability of Chiranjeevi’s plans. Puri has to start this movie as early as possible, before he changes his mind about acting in the movies.
In the mean time he may choose the team for this remake film and engage them on preproduction works. Hope, soon he will announce the dates of this Mega movie.

He said he has decided so, because of the immense pressure from fans and all others. Yesterday, some of his fans have made a picket before his house demanding to reconsider his retirement decision and start acting in the movies again. They have warned that, if he didn’t reconsider his decision they will start agitations in a big way all over the state. Imran Khan is gearing up for the release of his next film Delhi Belly and with uncle Aamir Khan's promotional tactics, the film is successfully receiving the audience's attention.
But the movie is also being targeted with negative comments for its bold music. Not just this, there is another reason for the Aamir-Imran duo to worry about. Delhi Belly will have to face tough competition from Amitabh Bachchan's Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap as both the films are set for a July 1 release.
But even with mamu Aamir's backing, Immy says that he stands nowhere in competition with Big B. "I am nothing compared to Mr Bachchan. I have grown up watching his movies. He is the living legend of our country. The line starts from where he stands, I might be at the end of that line. I pray that his movie does well," Imran said. Now this is called playing safe.
With all the controversies surrounding Delhi Belly, Imran says people are simply targeting Aamir's soft side. "People assume Aamir to be a soft target since he never responds to any comments given by them." " There have been lyrics worse than D K Bose, but no one objected to them. Bhaag D. K. Bose is a good song and many people like it," he said.
"Delhi Belly is for youngsters and if they like it then I am happy with it," Imran added. The other two songs from the same film Ja Chudail and Switty Tera Pyar Chaida is also getting great reviews from the public. Both Aamir and Imran are leaving no stone unturned to make their upcoming flick a huge success.
“I have faced many bitter experiences in the industry. I have also faced many ups and downs in my film career. When, there is success quite naturally anyone will be very relaxed and enjoy the success, but when I had a failure then it will create fire in me and inspires to work hard and with full enthusiasm. During the shooting of ‘Bbuddah hoga tere baap’ I learnt so many new things from Amitabh sir. Whenever there was a scene to be shot between us, he used to ask, ‘Have you fully learnt your dialogues? Come, let us rehears it one or two times before we face cameras.” I am quite surprised to see his dedication towards his job. So far, I used to think that, I am doing my job best. But, after working with him I understood that, I need to show more dedication towards my job as he shows to his job. Really, it is a wonderful experience to work with him,” said Charmi about Big B Amitabh Bachchan.
New Delhi, Dec 27 (IANS) He is the man whose presence adds fanfare to events, weightage to social messages, and, of course, to the cast of a film! But cinema icon Amitabh Bachchan believes he is not qualified enough to give an opinion and talk about every issue in the country.
"Suddenly many invitations to inaugurate book releases, conferences, chief guests at important events!! I am not qualified for them! My profession does not give me the obvious authority to be the most knowledgeable and justified endorser of various entities!" the veteran actor posted on Twitter.
"...And age does not necessarily indicate mature insight and vision, despite the grey and the glasses... I am still ordinary and ignorant," he added.
Amitabh promotes causes like eradication of polio, and is a tourism ambassador of Gujarat. On the global platform, he is considered to be an ambassador of Bollywood, seen as one of India's soft power. However, Big B does not find it feasible for him to talk about anything and everything, just because he is a popular star.
"Kind words and gentle demeanour shall not always translate to impressive epithets .. certain basics need to be in place...Being a host on a TV show or an appreciated artist in film, does not become justified qualification, for every other responsibility!
"Gravest fallacy - just because you work in a public domain, does not mean wisdom and wealth of acumen in all walks! So a regret in attendance is then construed as ill behaved arrogance...or undeserved ego...," he posted further.
The 69-year-old veteran was last seen as the host of the fifth season of game show Kaun Banega Crorepati.
He had two releases this year -- Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap and Aarakshan.
2011/7/10 23:42:02 After successfully directing his first Hindi movie ‘Bbuddah’ with Amitabh Bachchan, its director Puri Jagannath also seems to become an old man. He said “It is not that easy to find new ideas always while becoming old. However, I consider doing a film in Bollywood is just a promotion in my film career. Making movies means is just selling our ideas. If, one gets a chance anywhere he/she shouldn’t leave the opportunity, whether it is Bollywood or Hollywood or Tollywood. Charmi and Subba Raju have been successfully introduced to Bollywood with this Bbuddah movie. Many in Bollywood who were impressed with their acting skills and their style are enquiring about them now and some even trying to introduce them to Ram Gopal Varma, as they are unaware that they both hails from Tollywood. When, Subba Raju is telling his dialogues in Hindi, people around were amused with his language and pronunciation, just like we enjoy Sayaji Shinde’s Telugu style.”
Mumbai, Jan 10 (IANS) Actor Sonu Sood, who played Chedi Singh in 'Dabangg', has denied reports that he will feature in 'Dabangg 2'.

Meanwhile, Sonu is ecstatic at turning producer with his home production 'Lucky Unlucky', featuring Mallika Sherawat.

The ravishing actress, last seen with Amitabh Bachchan in "Bbuddah...Hoga Tera Baap", is making her full-fledged comeback with "Gin Liya Aasman", a Hindi and Marathi project.
The movie requires her to speak the kind of Marathi spoken in the interiors of Maharashtra, and so Raveena, who is born and brought up in Mumbai, had to take lessons.
"Though Marathi is not alien language for me, I now realised it is tough to learn Marathi spoken in the interior villages of Maharashtra," Raveena, 37, said in a statement.
Rishi Deshpande, the director of the film who himself is a Maharashtrian, has given the task to his associates to help Raveena.
"Gin Liya Aasman", produced by Mudassar Aziz, Vishwajit Gaikwad and Anil Bohra, is a story of a boy whose father, a naval officer went missing after a plane crash.
