Supreme Court warns Ramoji Rao

Media baron CH Ramoji Rao, who tried to bluff the Supreme Court, got a stern warning for it.

He obtained a prime location (Seetammadhara area) in Visakhapatnam on long lease from Kumar Varma and started his 'Eenadu' news paper three decades ago. However, he not only handed over a part of the land for road widening and obtained the same size of land in some other place on his own name, but also not bothered to inform the owner of the site about the deal. When, the lease period was over some ten years ago, then only the owner come to know about his deals. Then onwards, the owner of the site tried getting back his site but in vain.

He even tried to bring him to book, but Ramoji Rao being the media baron and having high influence in the Government, no one dares to against him, even police.

After a decade-long battle in the courts, the owner of the site Kumar Varma has proved his ownership of the site and also proved that he has been cheated by Ramoji Rao in all aspects. Even then also Ramoji Rao has been wisely prolonging the case filing new petitions in different courts.

Even today, he is not ready to vacate the land nor is willing to accept the court orders. A cheating case has been filed against him in 3 Town Police station in Visakhapatnam upon the court orders. Yet, Ramoji Rao preferred to take the legal battle to higher level- Supreme Court.

Although he acquired 11,000 sq.ft. on lease from Kumar Varma, Ramoji Rao has tried to bluff the Supreme Court stating that he has taken only 9200 sq.ft only on lease and rest of the land which measures 1800 sq.ft belongs to him. He also appealed the court to allow him to make some changes to his petition filed in High Court against Kumar Varma, and to order the owner of the site to extend the lease period.

The Supreme Court which was satisfied with the documental evidences submitted by land owner Kumar Varma, has not only rejected Ramoji Rao's petition and also warned him that he has to face criminal charges for intentionally misguiding the courts.

Then also Ramoji Rao once again tried to bluff the Supreme Court stating that he has been with the opinion that the 1800 sq.ft piece of land his own and he is not aware of the fact that it belongs to Kumar Varma.

Supreme Court comprising Justice Lodha and Gokle have given a stern warning to Ramoji Rao and dismissed his petition.

SC refuses to stay probe against Naidu

2011/11/23 12:17:54 The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to interfere with the Andhra Pradesh High Court orders directing the Central Bureau of Investigation and other agencies to conduct a probe into TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu's alleged illegal assets.

TDP MP Nama Nageshwar Rao, industrialist C M Ramesh and media baron Ramoji Rao filed a Special Leave Petition in the Supreme Court against the High Court orders. In their petition, they argued that the High Court order was against the principles of natural justice as they were not served notices and their version was not heard. They said the order violates the Article 21 of the Constitution and damages the reputation of people concerned.

However, a three member bench comprising Justice D Bhandari, Justice Deepak Mishra and Justice T D Thakur rejected their petition and refused to stay the probe. But, the bench asked the petitioners to put their arguments before the AP High Court as it was dealing with the matter. The apex court said that it would direct the High Court to hear their arguments within 15 days.

It was on November 14 that the State High Court ordered a preliminary probe by the CBI and other agencies into the alleged illegal assets of Chandrababu Naidu. The court issued ordered based on a petition filed by Pulivendula MLA YS Vijayamma, the widow of the former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. The agencies were asked to probe the land allotments and sanctioning of various projects to his allies by Chandrababu during his tenure as the Chief Minister and submit a report within three months. Court scraps Ramoji petitions

    2011/7/19 22:04:10
Media baron Ramoji Rao had to wear black face again on a land deal case. All his 3 petitions meant to prolong the land lease deal case were scrapped by 9th session court judge at Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

Ramoji Rao, who often slings mud against others through his powerful media network, has been illegally occupying a piece of prime land for years after the expiry of the lease deal. He took 2.78 acres of prime land on 33 years long lease from Manthena Aditya Varma in the year 1974 to establish his Eenadu news paper unit. This lease agreement was completed in year 2007, but he refuses to vacate and hand over the land to its owner Varma until now.

Ramoji Rao not only refusing to vacate the land, but he has also surrendered a piece of land from it to government for roads widening and obtained the same size of land in another area on his name as an exchange. He not even bothered to consult or take permission from the owner of the land before making this deal. This land is located in Seethammadhara area the heart of the Visakhapatnam city, from where his Eenadu Vizag edition is running now.

When, Manthena Aditya Varma fails to get possession of his site, he has complained against Ramoji Rao in 3town police station on 6.12.2007. But, even the police were afraid to take any action against the powerful and highly influenced Ramoji Rao. Hence, Varma sought the help of High Court. It has ordered the police to file an FIR against Ramoji Rao and start investigation of the case. Then only, the police have filed an FIR against Ramoji Rao (on 8.5.2010) with which Ramoji Rao is forced to step into court to counter the case. But, he is clever enough to use the loop holes in our law. He keep filing separate petitions on various reasons to prolong the case. In his petitions, he has asked the court to postpone the case as the lease documents were under mortgage with Union bank of India, Hyderabad. But, since the land owner Varma posses the copy of the lease deal, the court has scrapped Ramoji Rao’s petitions and adjourned the case to August 8th.

Son stroke for grand old man Tiwari

    2011/3/18 11:06:35

The 85 year old grand old man and the former Governor of AP state ND Tiwari, who was ousted for his sexual affairs with some women inside the Raj Bhavan, has been suffering from his ‘son stroke’ since last several years. At this elderly age he is knocking every door in the capital that can put an end to the Supreme Court trail launched against him by his forbidden son Rohit Shekar.

Rohit Shekar claims that, he is the biological son of ND Tiwari who had an extra marital relationship with his mother Ujwala Sharma, while he was young and handling the Congress affairs in New Delhi. However, ND Tiwari keeps denying having any sexual relationship with her and refused to accept Rohit Shekar as his son. Hence, Rohit is obliged to knock the court doors seeking a DNA test of his father to prove his relationship with him.

The Delhi High Court when asked Tiwari to go for a DNA test, he bluntly refused to do so and filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking a stay on the high court orders. But, then he couldn’t predict that, he came to a point where there is no return. Supreme Court also insisted him to undergo DNA test to prove his innocence in this case. It also rejected his petition to give a stay on high court order and suggested him to follow the high court order without making any fuss. However, Supreme Court gives the old man to spell his preferred mode of DNA test, but he refused to disclose it. How the Supreme Court handles this odd old man to have DNA test is to be watched.
