If the government book serious cases, the leaders will restrain from make serious and inflammatory remarks, he claimed.
The Karimnagar MP lashed out at Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his refusal to take up discussion on the Telangana issue in the 29 days of budget session of Assembly. 2011/7/27 2:37:48 A day after Union Home Minister P Chidambaram sought unanimity and cooperation of all political parties in solving the controversial statehood issue, Telugu Desam Party Telangana Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Wednesday stated that it was impossible to achieve unanimity on the Telangana state issue.
Talking to media persons at Telugu Desam Legislature Party Office, Mr Dayakar Rao said that, it is very difficult to achieve consensus on the issue. The only possible solution before the Centre is to invoke Article 3 of the Constitution and solve the issue.
Stating that the TDP has already made its stand clear on Telangana state issue before the Justice Srikrishna Commission and Pranab Mukherjee Committee, Mr Dayakar Rao asked Mr Chidambaram to take a decision on the issue instead of resorting to delaying tactics and blaming the TDP for the imbroglio.
We want a clear statement from the Centre on the Telangana state issue. The Centre must clearly say whether it is in favour of Telangana or not, he stated.
The TDP leader added that the Congress party had never mentioned that it was necessary to pass a resolution on Telangana in the House for the formation of state before it entered into an alliance with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and agreed to the separate statehood demand by including it in its election manifesto.
Stating the TDP never objected to the formation of separate Telangana state, Mr Dayakar Rao asserted that the TDP would seek the support of all parties by keeping aside its flag and agenda.
Despite the party introducing a resolution in the House for the deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders of 1975 and seeking the dropping of police cases against students, why has the government not taken any decision on this issue yet, Mr Dayakar Rao wondered.
He advised the Telangana Congress leaders not to fall in the trap of Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad and submit their resignations afresh.
Party leader Mahender Reddy was also present at the press conference.(INN)
2012/4/30 8:36:37 New Delhi, April 30 (INN): Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Monday said that the Centre would respond on the demand for separate Telangana state as soon as possible.
Addressing his monthly press conference, Chidambaram appealed to the MPs from Telangana region, including his partymen, to allow the Parliament to function while their demand could be discussed. "We will respond as soon as possible on the Telangana State," he said in reply to a question about Leader of the Opposition Sushma Swaraj asking the government to list out the steps taken by it on the issue in the House.
Chidambaram said the ruling party had to take the "unfortunate" step of suspending its own MPs from Telangana for four days. "Our appeal is to let the House function. Whatever discussions have to be held can be held outside the House. They are always welcome to meet the leaders who are dealing with the Telangana issue like Ghulam Nabi Azad and now Vayalar Ravi. They are available for discussions," he said.
Chidambaram said the Centre understands the concern of Telangana MPs. However, while the matter gets discussed, they should allow the House to run. “The Central Government is very sincere in resolving the issue,” he said and added “an all-party meeting can be convened as soon as the four political parties arrive at a consensus on the issue.”
Soon after Justice Krishna Committee (JKC) tables its T report curtain rose for the second episode of the Telangana drama, in the direction and screen play by Home Minister Chidambaram. The lessons he has learnt from the bitter experiences while playing the first episode exactly one year ago, makes him move cautiously and spell the carefully chosen dialogues, so as he no need to recap the first episode again.
Home Minister Chidambaram has convened an all party meeting on January 6th to put the JKC report in their court and to seek their opinions about bifurcation of the state, so as he can keep his hands clean off the T issue, at least for time being. Chidambaram once again used the same old formula of inviting two representatives from each political party, so as they also will differ within and create confusion over the T issue and thus prolonging the matter for few more months or to be frank till a year or so.
Quite naturally, TRS and pro Telangana leaders have opposed this trick played by Chidambaram. BJP which firmly believes that, all this drama including constituting the JKC is merely to gain the time and to prolong the T issue, it stays away from attending the meetings convened by Chidambaram from the beginning. Once again it repeating its stand stated that, its not participating in the all party meeting. TRS which also irks with the Chidambaram-Trick declared that, it also boycotts the meeting, unless only one person from each party is invited to clearly spell their stand on T issue.
However, whether TRS attends the meeting or not Centre will be happy to gain some time with this meeting. Whichever party attends this meeting will certainly take few weeks or months time to hatch its opinion on 600 page lengthy JKC report. Then also, the Chidambaram is sure that, no party can dare to say either a Yes or a No on the T issue, which may affects the concerned partys political future. Ultimately, the plan of throwing the JKC report into opposition partys court definitely provides sufficient time for the Centre as well as keeps its hands clean.
If, it could prolong the issue peacefully for a year or so and then it can announce mid term elections and lure the Telangana people offering statehood if they elects the Congress party with a big majority. Otherwise, the entire credit falls into the lap of talkative K.Chandra Shekar Rao and to his party, thus making Congress a Big Zero in the T region.
2012/5/3 6:43:30 Hyderabad, May 3 (INN): Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday clarified that he had never met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram over the Telangana state issue.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP leader L Ramana stated that Naidu, who returned from by-election campaign, stated that he had never met Chidambaram over the bifurcation of State issue. He said that Naidu opined that Chidambaram made these comments to divert the attention of people.
Stating that TDP has already made its party's stand clear on the Telangana State, Ramana stated that Naidu had written a letter to Pranab Mukherjee, chairman of Cabinet Sub-Committee on Telangana, long ago.
It may be mentioned that Union Home Minister P Chidambaram reportedly stated in the Budget session of Lok Sabha that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu met him over Telangana State issue.
2011/9/30 5:31:45 The Centre is not likely to come out with an immediate solution on the issue of separate Telangana. Eighteen days after the Sakala Janula Samme or the general strike began and crippled the region, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram came out with a routine statement saying the issue would be 'resolved soon'.
Addressing a press conference at Shastri Bhavan here on Friday, Chidambaram said that four political parties including the Congress have not yet clarified their stand on separate Telangana. "TDP and MIM are waiting to see what Congress party's decision will be. The other party the YSR Congress has not indicated its mind either," he said.
Chidambaram announced that the Congress party and the UPA government will soon announce its stand on Telangana. However, he claimed that one important stage of consultation on the issue is over. He also hinted that all party meeting would be called soon to discuss the issue, but only after Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad submits his report.
The Home Minister also appealed to the pro-Telangana group to call of the general strike as it was causing lot of inconvenience to the common man. He insisted that no political party should support the indefinite bandh which has been crippling the normal life in the region. He said the bandh would affect the State's economy and consequently increase the burden on common man. He said the agitation has forced the Centre to discuss the issue and therefore, it must be called off now.
Meanwhile, a few hours before the meeting of Congress Working Committee, Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad submitted the much-awaited report on the Telangana crisis to Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday. Azad has prepared the report after holding discussions with the several leaders from both Telangana and Seemandhra. Azad had also promised that he would consider the views of people both the regions.
However, it was not known as to what exactly Azad has recommended regarding Telangana. Based on the same report, the Congress party is likely to announce its stand on the issue of Andhra Pradesh bifurcation. (INN)
TRS asks Naidu to clarify his meeting with Chidambaram
2012/5/3 6:49:20 Hyderabad, May 3 (INN): Telangana Rashtra Samithi leader and former MP B Vinod on Thursday demanded that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu give an explanation over his meeting with Union Home Minister P Chidambaram over Telangana issue.
Talking to media persons, Vinod said that Chidambaram's statement in the Lok Sabha claiming that Naidu met him over statehood issue proves that Naidu was against the formation of Telangana State. He asked Telugu Desam Telangana Forum members to question Naidu on what forced him to meet Chidambaram in New Delhi.
When reporters told Vinod that Naidu has already denied meeting with Chidambaram, Vinod asked Naidu to move a privilege motion against Chidambaram for giving wrong information in the Parliament and diverting the attention of people. He also demanded TD T-Forum members to mount pressure on Naidu to concede for formation of separate Telangana State.
2011/11/3 5:31:24 The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Thursday insisted that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu clarify his stand on the Telangana issue.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, TRS floor leader Etela Rajender said that the TDP president never had clarity with regard to demand for Telangana statehood. It maintained a confused stand in its manifestoes, as well as in the communications that it has sent to the Centre on this issue. Therefore, he demanded that Naidu should clearly say whether he was in favour of Telangana or not.
Etala said that the people in the region have lost faith on the TDP due to its confused stand. If the TDP was serious of winning back the lost faith, then it must first clarify its stand on the statehood issue. Until then people in the region would treat the Telugu Desam as anti-Telangana party, he said.
Speaking about Naidu's 'Rythu Poru' padyatra, the TRS leader also accused Naidu of shedding crocodile tears for the farmers. He said during his nine years' tenure as the Chief Ministers, thousands of farmers committed suicide and he failed to provide support to the distressed farmers. He said that 'Rythu Poru' programme has been launched for votes and Naidu was not really concerned about farmers.
Etela demanded that the State Government immediately extend help to the farmers in the drought-affect areas. He said mere declaration of drought-affected mandals would not help the farmers and they need help at the ground level. He demanded that the government implement all the recommendations made by the Jayanti Ghosh Commission.
The TRS leader demanded that the government provide crop insurance, waive interest on loans, reduce the prices of seeds and fertilisers and supply quality and uninterrupted power to the farmers. He also demanded payment of ex-gratia of Rs 3 - 4 lakh to the families of farmers who committed suicide. (INN)
2012/4/15 9:37:58 Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Sunday warned of intensifying the statehood agitation if the Congress and TDP fail to clarify their stand on Telangana.
Talking to media persons on the occasion of arrival of Telangana Bus Yatra at Basra, Prof Kodandaram alleged that hundreds of students committed suicide due to the non-responsive attitude of Congress and TDP. He said both the parties have deliberately maintained silence over the Telangana issue with an intention to delay the decision by the Centre. He alleged that the irresponsible behaviour of the both the parties was responsible for suicides in the region.
Prof Kodandaram demanded that the Congress and TDP clarify their stand on the statehood issue to prevent suicide by youth in the region.
It may be mentioned that the TP-JAC started a bus yatra on April 11 from Hyderabad to create awareness regarding prevention of suicide by students and youth for the cause of statehood. The bus yatra was also aimed at mounting pressure on the Congress and TDP to make their position clear on the statehood issue.
The bus yatra is scheduled to cover 10 districts of Telangana region and will conclude on April 22. (INN)
2012/2/15 3:17:22 Bharatiya Janata Party floor leader in the Assembly Endala Lakshmi Narayana on Wednesday demanded that the State Government move a resolution on Telangana to ensure smooth functioning of the House.
Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, he said that the BJP has made its stand clear during the Business Advisory Committee held under the chairmanship of Speaker Nadendla Manohar at his chambers. He said that the government could solve other problems if it resolves the Telangana issue by moving a resolution.
With all-parties making their stand clear on Telangana state, he said that the government could introduce a resolution immediately and help the Centre take a favourable decision on the issue. (INN)
2012/3/31 0:44:35 The suicides by youth for Telangana and the growing pressure have shown no effect on the Center. Home Minister Chidambaram recent statement indicates that, the Center has no plans to declare Telangana immediately and it want to prolong the issue as long as possible at least until next general elections.
Chidambaram talking to media at Bangalore has said "Still we are waiting for the response from the major parties of the state over Telangana issue. Soon after they make their stand clear, the next moment we will conduct an all party meeting to take a decision on the issue. Replying to another question, "I feel very sad to know about the suicides for Telangana. I appeal the youth not to take such drastic steps for Telangana. Committing suicides won't give any solution to the issue, instead it further complicates it. So, I appeal the youth to refrain from such acts."
2011/12/1 9:25:57 Union Home Minister Chidambaram once again sings the same old song on Telangana issue. Speaking at press conference held at New Delhi on yesterday he said, 'We are still waiting for the response from the four major political parties of Andhra Pradesh over Telangana issue. Once they make their stand clear on Telangana issue, we will convene an all party meeting with state political parties, probably in January next year. But, before that they have to reveal their stand on the issue, otherwise we can't move ahead on this issue.'
Replying to a question he said "I have never given any deadline for Telangana. What I said was the negotiations may take momentum after Bakrid festival. But, I have never told that the Government is going to declare Telangana after Bakrid festival."
But, KCR assures Sonia Gandhi is going to make an announcement on Telangana issue after the winter sessions of Parliament. If so, who is fooling the people? KCR or Chidambaram?
Centre is playing dramas in order to buy time : Erram
2011/8/5 7:53:02 Telugu Desam politburo member Erram Naidu on Friday stated that it was very difficult task to get unanimity on the formation of Telangana state as the aspirations of the people from one region to another are different.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, he alleged that the Centre linked the unanimity issue in order to delay the Telangana state formation.
He asked Chidambaram to make his stand clear on Telangana state issue and put an end to uncertainty in the state.
By linking the T state issue with unanimous opinion among parties, the Centre is complicating the problem further instead of resolving it, he alleged.
Alleging that the Centre is playing dramas in order to buy time, he said that Union Home minister P Chidambaram is targeting the Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu to weaken him in the state.
Another senior leader of the party P Chandrasekhar hailed the Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj for launching hot discussion on the Telangana in the Lok Sabha.
When the reporters asked why Chandrababu Naidu raised objection for the T state during National Democratic Alliance government, he denied the allegation terming it as baseless and said that the party never raised objection for the formation of Telangana state.
However, he clarified that NDA did not promise to give Telangana state.(INN)
2012/2/29 6:57:10 Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday rubbished the media reports that the Centre was going to establish regional councils with complete financial autonomy for the development of backward regions like Telangana.

He said that a section of media has been creating such baseless stories to get mileage on the issue. He said that the Centre has never discussed the establishment of regional councils.

TP-JAC issues new dictat against political leaders
2012/2/4 11:07:10 Telangana Political Joint Action Committee Chairman Prof M Kodandaram on Saturday called upon pro-Telangana activists not to allow any political leaders in the entire region until their parties make their stand clear on the separate statehood issue.
Addressing the JAC meeting at Karthika Gardens in Lalapet, Kodandaram exhorted the JAC leaders to intensify their agitation with a concrete strategy and organized methods from April-end. He asked the activists not to allow leaders, irrespective of their party affiliation, in the Telangana districts until they come out with clear stand on bifurcation of State. “The Telangana issue will not be solved until parties do not clarify their stand on the issue,” he said.
Kodandaram contended that the Centre was delaying a decision on the Telangana issue due to lack of clarity from the parties on the issue. He asked the activists to go ahead with full-fledged planning and organised campaign on the issue. "The Centre would understand the severity of the agitation and announce its decision on the statehood after April agitation,” he stated.
Hailing the BJP’s Telangana Poru Yatra launched by its state-unit president G Kishan Reddy, he said the yatra has received overwhelming response in the all districts. He also called upon the JAC leaders to ensure the success of convention to be organized on Feb 11 at Nizam College Grounds in the city.
Earlier, Kodandaram released a diary of Telangana employees at Sundariah Kalakshetram at Baghlingampally. (INN)
