Accusing the Telugu Desam Party of trying to brand Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy as ‘anti-BC’, the YSR Congress Party on Friday said that its president has always advocated the implementation of 34 per cent quota for BCs for political parties.
YSR Congress Party spokesperson Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy told media persons at Sagar Society, the party’s head office, that the statements made by Telugu Desam Party politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu are not only condemnable, they are an attempt to brand Mr Jaganmohan Reddy as anti-BC.
Mr Ramakrishnudu had said that the YSR Congress Party president has no commitment over reservations for Backward Classes in Local Body elections.
Mr Govardhan Reddy pointed out atht Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had blamed the state government of postponing the elections to Local Bodies with an intention to reduce reservation for Backward Class communities.
He further reminded that the YSR Congress Party chief had asked all political parties to implement 34 pc quota for BCs, apart from giving them chance in open category.
Mr Govardhan Reddy appealed to state government to convene an all-party meeting to resolve the issue of reservations for BCs in Panchayat Raj institutions.
He further advised the Telangana elected representatives to submit their resignations over separate statehood demand to the Assembly Speaker instead of issuing threatening statements in New Delhi.
Instead of setting deadlines over Telangana, they can submit their resignations to Speaker, he said.(INN)
2012/2/19 6:39:02 YSR Congress party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao on Sunday accused the media of misusing the freedom of expression and publishing false reports against Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Talking to media persons at YSR Congress party office, he said that a section of media has engaged all its energies to tarnish the image of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He alleged that anti-Jagan news reports were part of a conspiracy hatched by Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu. Quoting a media report, he asked the media to disclose the sources who claimed that Jagan would be arrested in March month. He asked whether media got any tip offs from the CBI about Jagan's arrest. Further, he asked the media to explain as to how Jagan would lose people's sympathy after the arrest.
Ramchandra Rao said although the State Budget presented by Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy was 'anti-people' and 'anti-welfare,’ the media did not carry any critical analysis. Instead, some publications have been carrying 'baseless' reports against Jagan Mohan Reddy to tarnish his image.
The YSR Congress party spokesperson also asked as to why the CBI was not responding to 'speculative' stories being published about its investigation in various cases.
Ramchandra Rao alleged that the TDP chief has launched this campaign using media to divert attention of people from the leaders of his party who were involved in liquor scam and due to by-elections in the Telangana region. He said that the people would lose faith on media if it continues anti-Jagan campaign shunning basic principles. (INN)

The brother of Routu Surya Prakash Rao the Congress MLA from Rajahmundry town, Routu Venkateswara Rao has joined YSR Congress party in the presence of the party president YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday. He said that he got attracted to Jagan because of his interest towards people, especially downtrodden. A large number of Venkateswara Rao followers also joined YSR Congress party at the same.
Addressing the huge meeting held at Ramachandrapuram in East Godavari district, Jagan said if he comes to power he will convert all the municipal schools into English medium schools. He asks the party cadres to work like soldiers for the victory of the party in the upcoming by-elections. He described the by-elections as the sign of general elections to be held at 2014.
The election commission has banned pre-poll surveys. Still, some private agencies and some individuals conducted their own surveys. The result of the surveys all predict a big win for Jagan in Kadapa.
In Pulivendula, the sympathy factor is said to have worked heavily. Therefore it is almost certain that Vijayamma, wife of late YS Rajashekar Reddy will be elected with a fairly good margin.

2012/1/17 14:16:54 Legislative Council Chairman A Chakrapani on Tuesday served notices to rebel Congress MLCs Konda Murali, Pulla Padmavati and S V Mohan Reddy seeking explanation on their alleged anti-party activities. These MLCs are now sailing with the YSR Congress party.
While issuing notices, the Council Chairman directed them to submit their explanation within one week over their disqualification petition.
Chakrapani served notices on MLCs following a petition submitted by the Congress Whip Y S Sivaram Reddy last Friday seeking disqualification of these MLCs for indulging in anti-party activities with the active support of the Jagan group.
In the petition submitted to Council Chairman, Sivaram Reddy also enclosed several CDs to prove the party's charges against them. (INN)
2012/1/13 10:15:13 Congress whip in the Legislative YS Sivaram Reddy on Friday lodged a complaint against YSR Congress party loyalist MLCs Konda Murali, Pulla Padmavati and SV Mohan Reddy with Legislative Council Chairman A Chakrapani.
Lodging the petition at his chambers, Sivaram Reddy said that the Congress party seeks disqualification of these MLCs for indulging in the anti-party activities with the active support of Jagan group. Receiving the petition, Council Chairman A Chakrapani said that he would look into their issue and take disciplinary action as per the established norms.
Sivaram Reddy also enclosed several CDs to substantiate the party’s charge against the three MLCs. (INN)
Sailajanath ridicules Jagan group's claim of sacrificing posts for farmers
2012/5/12 7:09:57 Hyderabad, May 12 (INN): Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath on Saturday slammed YSR Congress party president and Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy for claiming that the elected representatives have sacrificed their posts in protest against government's anti-farmers' policies in the State.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, Sailajanath dismissed the arguments of Jagan group and said that Jagan and his supporters have no moral right to speak on 'sacrifices' and 'trust'. He said that Jagan has quit the Congress party as the Congress High Command has refused to give him Chief Minister's post after the death of his father and former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
Sailajanath said that some Congress MLAs supported Jagan Mohan Reddy as he lured them with money. Stating that YSR continued as a loyal Congress party worker till his last breath, he said that YSR would have continued in the Congress if he was alive. He asked Jagan whether YSR wrote any will to establish new party against the Congress.
Stating that the YSR Congress party still lacks a clear policy, he accused Jagan of copying Congress schemes and development programmes to come to power in the State. He advised leaders to think twice before joining the YSR Congress group considering the dubious image of Jagan and his involvement in accumulation of illegal wealth.
The congress party wants the photo of late chief minister YSR removed from the flag of the YSR Congress party of Jagan. The congress party has made an oral complaint to the state election commission.
However, the SEC has asked the congress party to give a complaint in writing. The congress leaders say that the present government is YSR government and the schemes that are being implemented are YSR schemes.
The Jagan camp is however not going to sit idle on this issue. It will make a big issue out of it and will even approach the court in case the EC asks it to remove the photo of YSR from the party flag.
The Congress and the Telugu Desam Party are like cat and mouse. They never agree on any thing. They are always fighting on all issues big and small.
However the by polls in Kadapa and Pulivendula seems to have brought them together on one thing. Both the Congress and the TDP don’t want Jagan and his mother to win.
The two parties agree that if Jagan manages to win both the assembly and parliament seats then he will become unstoppable in the state.
So Jagan’s rise will be huge setback to both these parties.
2011/1/1 8:47:55 Union agriculture minister Sharad Pawar’s meeting with “new farmer leader” Jaganmohan Reddy yesterday has generated curiosity and ridicule in the Congress.
Party leaders are wondering if the agriculture minister did not have better things to do on a day food inflation crossed 14 per cent than meeting an “errant boy” who is not even an MP now.
Jagan had sought an appointment with the Prime Minister too but failed to get a favourable response. Pawar, however, not only obliged the young man but gave him 45 minutes.
One Congress leader said: “We don’t know whether they discussed the intricacies of politics or the miseries of the farmers at this long meeting, but the agriculture minister should know that Jagan is not an Ajit Singh or a Mahendra Singh Tikait. So far, the country has been unaware about Jagan’s credentials as a farmer leader.”
The reason Congress leaders are upset about the meeting is that Jagan has been spewing venom at both Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi ever since he quit the party.
On his TV channel, Sonia is invariably described as an Italian and Singh has often been called a “dummy”.
Pawar has in the past lent his shoulders to many Congress rebels, such as Vidya Charan Shukla and K. Karunakaran. Many Congress leaders suspect his hand behind Jagan’s rebellion too. There have been reports in the past about Jagan getting in touch with Pawar to discuss his plans.
The Congress is uneasy about yesterday’s meeting also because two of its MPs and two members of the Andhra Pradesh legislative council accompanied Jagan.
2012/3/16 7:16:44 BJP senior leader Bandaru Dattatreya on Friday described the Budget 2012-13 as an anti-common man, anti-people and anti-growth oriented budget.
In a statement, he said that Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee allowed the marketing forces to work on the ordinary people of the country. “The budget had a narrow approach on several issues. On one side common items like gas, fertilizers, oils etc will become costly and on the other, the budget conceals hidden agenda of reforms. It indirectly hints at private participation in every aspect of the society,” he said.
He suspected the achievement of expected growth rate for the current year at 6.9 percent and projected growth rate for 2012-13 at 7.6 percent.
He said the budget has proposed to increase the rates of Service Tax and Central Excise from 10 to 12 percent. It has also been proposed to bring many new areas into Service Tax net by prescribing Negative List for the first time since 1994. The proposal will have inflationary effect of increase in the prices of goods and services, he added.
Dattatreyya took serious note on allowing the FDI in Multi Brand Retail Trade and said it would have negative impact on the small and medium businessmen. (INN)
2011/11/24 15:09:05 Congress MLA Anan Vivekananda Reddy on Thursday said that the party would not allow Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to return to the Congress party.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office, Anam said that the party would not welcome Jagan's re-entry into Congress party, under any circumstances. However, he said the possibilities of Jagan returning to Congress are weak. He said the Congress MLAs who joined the YSR Congress party could return to the parent party anytime.
Anam said that Jagan has started losing the faith of legislators who joined him after leaving the Congress party. He said previously about 30 MLAs were supporting the YSR Congress party. The number has now reduced to 20 MLAs. He said the number could reduce to just 10 in the next few days.
The Congress MLA appreciated the performance of N Kiran Kumar Reddy as the Chief Minister in the last one year. He expressed hope that Kiran Kumar Reddy would complete his full term. (INN)
YS Jagan and chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy are not seeing eye to eye. In fact Jagan has so far not even acknowledged Kiran as the CM.
Jagan who has been doing ‘deeksha’ over one issue or the other has chosen Hyderabad as his venue for his ‘Fees Pooru’.
Jagan will commence his deeksha on February 18 to coincide with the budget session of the assembly. This way Jagan wants to embarrass Kiran as much as possible.
Jagan is getting support form several quarters including the TRS as well as students from Hyderabad.

2011/4/27 0:26:01 YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy who is fighting a lone battle against Congress and TDP in the by-elections, during his road show conducted at Chiyapalle village in Kadapa district, addressing the huge gathering has stated that, if he is still stick to Congress party, then he would have been politically buried in the hands of Congress leaders. He said it is a battle between late YSR and Sonia Gandhi, it is a fight between self respect and over confidence. He asked the people to carefully choose the right candidate out of several dummy candidates who have been stalled by Congress party to misguide them.
YS Jagan is poor that he cannot afford a car. This is the thought that comes to mind when one reads the affidavit filed by Jagan along with his nomination papers.
While Jagan has declared 365 as assets, both movable and immovable, he does not own a car!
So, it is time the fans and followers of Jagan gifted him with a car.
Famous Bollywood star Preity Zinta has been appointed as the brand ambassador for Rexona Deo. She launched the new product in Mumbai on Thursday. Shah Rukh, Bachchan, Hrithik, Chiranjeevi etc. are already in the top league when it comes to brand endorsements.
Even cricketers are no less when it comes to brand endorsements. In fact, players like Sachin Tendulkar and Sania Mirza are earning in millions by endorsing products.
Has the 125 year old congress party bereft of any men? This seems to be the case as the party finds it difficult to find a suitable candidate to fight Jagan in the Kadapa Lok Sabh elections.
The chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is now trying to get Kandula Rajamohan Reddy of the TDP into the congress.
Kiran wants to welcome Rajamohan Reddy with a congress party ticket to the Kadapa LS poll. D Srinivas are resisting this strongly. He feels that it would be improper to give party ticket to someone from the TDP who is joining the party now.
2012/3/10 6:50:05 The YSR Congress party on Saturday said that the ruling Congress and main opposition TDP leaders were hit by Jagan-phobia ahead of the by-elections in the State.
Describing both the parties as sinking boats, YSR Congress party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao said that the parties were jittery ahead of by-polls as their base was eroding fast. “Chief Minister and Congress president failed to draw crowds and had to bring in recording dancers to hold the public while TDP is spending more on liquor at Kovur,” he alleged.
Talking to reporters here Gattu said that on International Women’s Day there were dances that belittle the dignity of women at a platform where Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was to speak and he did not even convey his apology to the women for the goof-up. Being an import, he has lost contact with people, he said.
Ramchandra Rao also demanded a white paper on the welfare schemes it has taken up along with the ones implemented during the YSR's term.
The results of March 18 by-polls will reflect on the ensuing elections to 17 assembly seats which will set the pace for the 2014 battle, he said adding that the principal parties will be vying only for the second spot all through. (INN)
The congress party is now finally forced to acknowledge that some people really committed suicides following the death of YS Rajashekar Reddy.
According to party sources, the official list of deaths has been put at 490. While Jagan has come up with a list of about 650 plus, the congress list is quite big.
The Jagan camp is naturally happy with the list as it now vindicates their claim that several people died after the death of YSR.
