Bharatiya Janata Party senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had totally failed in redressing the grievances of people.
Talking to media persons at the state party office here, Venkaiah Naidu said that the governance in the state came to stand still during the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. He said that development of state was affected due to agitations on various issues—fee reimbursement, junior doctors’ protest and dharna by textile traders against VAT.
As the government had totally failed in addressing these issues, the state had been witnessing agitations frequently and that was affecting development, he stated.
Also, the government failed to honour promises made to employees from the Telangana region during Sakala Janula Samme, he said. He also came down heavily on the state government for not responding to the farmers’ woes who were affected by severe drought due to inadequate rains and failing to bring in Central team to estimate the crop losses. He asked as to why the state government did not taking any decision on tenders for Polavaram, which were mired in controversy.
Criticizing the government for politicizing the appointments of State Information Commissioners, he sought explanation from the government to the people on the issue. He also questioned Speaker Nadendla Manohar on why he was dragging his feet on initiating disqualification actions on 16 rebel MLAs, who switched loyalties during No Confidence Motion against the government.
Condemning the desecration of Dr Ambedkar statues in Amalapuram, he blamed the failure of intelligence system for this and demanded a through probe into it. (INN)
2012/2/15 2:20:12 So far, PCC President Botsa Satyanarayana is used to condemn the media reports of having differences with Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. But, today he comes out of his shell and openly criticizes Kiran Kumar Reddy for the same reasons.
Today, speaking to media in the Assembly lobby said "Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu seems to be having a clear understanding with our Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy over Information Commissioners nomination. Our CM also assures him that he will complete the process with the consent of all the members, which indicates they are one in this issue. There are several such examples to say they have a clear understanding between them."
So far we have seen TDP and TRS blaming each other of having secret pact with Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. But, with Botsa's latest statement it becomes clear that Chandrababu and Kiran Kumar Reddy have a good understanding over several issues. Polavaram tenders issue has proved that KCR is also had a secret pact with Kiran Kumar Reddy.
So, this is the first time in Andhra Pradesh state history that a ruling Congress Chief Minister join hands with opposition leaders to let his Government run.
2011/12/8 6:29:16 Former cricketer and BJP Amritsar Parliament member Navjyoth Singh Siddhu has visited Tirumala Temple on Thursday early morning and offered prayers to Lord Balaji. He was accompanied by state BJP leaders. Later, speaking to media he said 'Currently, our Indian team is in full form and can stand in No.1 position in the world cricket.'
However, this time his tour to Nellore two days ago sparks tensions due to his over action at toll gate near Sullurpeta. When, his car is passing through the VIP gate with a guard's permission, another security guard who was unaware of it misunderstood that the car is passing without paying the toll. Then in an attempt to stop the car he hurled a stone at it and breaks the rear glass of car. Siddhu got raged and abducted the guard in his car. He kept him under his control till the function was over in the evening.
The security guard's relatives and the locals, who thought some miscreants have kidnapped him, have staged dharna before the toll gate for two hours thus making heavy traffic jam on the highway.
When, police have told them that it is former cricketer Nav Jyoth Singh Siddhu who come to attend a private function of BJP leader Venkayya Naidu, they got raged and waited for his return at toll gate to teach him a lesson. But, Venkayya Naidu has whisked him away safely from the place without their knowledge. People have condemned Siddhu's over action.
2011/11/9 4:26:48 Former national president of Bharatiya Janata Party M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday demanded that the government adopt permanent measures to tackle the drought situation in the state.
Talking to media persons after inspecting crops as part of his visit to Gajwel mandal in Medak district, Venkaiah Naidu said that the drought has become a recurring phenomenon every year and therefore, the government should take steps to find a permanent solution. As part of preventing drought, he said the government should link all rivers in the state. He said the short-term measures would not give any benefits to farmers, who are affected with drought.
Instead of implementing populist schemes to protect their vote bank, he said that the government should take up permanent welfare measures for uplifting backward communities. He slammed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for launching Rs 1 a kg rice scheme expecting short term gains.
Demanding government announce new MSP for paddy growers, Naidu said the BJP would mount pressure on Centre in the upcoming parliament session over the farmers’ problems. He asked the government to announce compensation of Rs 10,000 per acre for drought affected farmers.
Instead of conducting Racha Banda, he asked the Chief Minister to tour drought affected districts to collect first hand information over farmers’ problems. (INN)
Chiranjeevi is just like a new beggar in Cong: Roja
2012/1/10 15:37:51 Veteran actress Roja speaking from 'Raitu Deeksha' venue in Armoor has flayed Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, Chiranjeevi and Chandrababu Naidu with severe words. She described Chiranjeevi as a new beggar in the Congress party. "Kiran Kumar Reddy and his Government are of no use to farmers. He talks more and works less. Even though everyone criticizes him and his Government, his Government carelessly moves like Buffalo in the rain. He not even has experience as a Minister. Yet, he becomes CM of the state. Chandrababu is also nothing less to him. He encouraged the police to book cases against the farmers during his regime. Former Chief Minister late YS Rajashekar Reddy alone has strived hard for the welfare of the farmers and the poor people. If, we elect his son Jagan Mohan Reddy to power definitely he will implement all the welfare schemes of his father," said Roja.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has reached the venue around 7pm with more than 100 cars following him in convoy. No major untoward incidents take place on his way to Armoor except facing some protests by TRS cadres in some places.
Jagan Mohan Reddy has assured the farmers that he will pressurize the Congress Government until it resolves all their problems.

Addressing a press conference here at the State BJP Headquarters at Nampally, Venkaiah Naidu said that although the BJP was not demanding mid-terms polls, but it was gearing up to face the same. Describing Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh as a 'wingless bird', he said that the UPA-2 has completely failed on all fronts.
Venkaiah Naidu said that the Centre's UPA-2 Government has become so weak that it was unable to implement any decision on its own. He said that Central Government was being forced to rollback its decisions fearing withdrawal of support by its allies. The government is unable to implement its decisions on the Railway Budget, NCTC, petrol prices or cotton prices due to the pressure of its allies.
The BJP leader said that although there were no immediate chances of mid-term polls, but the party was ready to face them whenever they happen. He said all anti-Congress parties were welcome to join the National Democratic Alliance.
Speaking about the Union Budget, Venkaiah Naidu said that the Centre has allocated only Rs 22,000 crore for the agriculture sector which was not sufficient. He said that it was due to centre's negligence that the agriculture, as a profession, has lost its shine and became a non-profitable business.
Venkaiah Naidu said that the two per cent hike in Service Tax and Excise Duty would eventually lead to increase in prices of several essential commodities and other products. (INN)
2011/11/26 8:41:16 Former national president of Bharatiya Janata Party M Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday criticised the Central Government for allowing 51 per cent FDI in the retail sector.
Talking to reporters, Venkaiah Naidu said that the decision would affect more than two crore families across the country. He said it would also affect the food security situation in the country. He apprehended that the entry of multi-nationals in the retail sector would adversely affect the lakhs of kirana shops throughout the country and would increase unemployment.
The BJP leader said that the entry of mega players would affect the small businessman in the retail segment. He said unlike the western countries where huge tracts of lands could be allotted to the retail players, India is having scarcity of land. Therefore, the new policy would badly affect the farmers. He said that the big foreign players would spoil the rhythm of conventional retail business in the country.
Venkaiah Naidu said that his party would launch a massive agitation against the new policy. He also asked the Centre to allow debate on the new FDI policy in the on-going winter session of the Parliament.
BJP state unit president G Kishan Reddy and former MLA N Indrasena Reddy were also present. (INN)

Talking to media persons after submitting a memorandum to the Governor at Raj Bhavan, Naidu stressed on the need for ordering comprehensive probe into the liquor syndicate operations which have caused huge losses to the State's exchequer. Demanding the dismissal of ministers from Cabinet for their alleged nexus with liquor syndicate, he accused the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government of shielding them to protect his own government.

Seeking Governor's intervention to break the standoff, Naidu said that the ball was now in the court of the Governor to act on the scam.
Several TDP MLAs and MLCs accompanied Naidu to Raj Bhavan.
2011/12/6 15:02:21 Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday stated that his party introduced the No Confidence Motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy expecting that the government would announce a package for the affected farmers. However, he said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy gave political packages to several MLAs to save his government.
Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, he said the Congress government resorted to dirty politics by brokering deals with the Praja Rajyam Party and other MLAs instead of announcing relief measures for the drought hit farmers. However, he said that he has succeeded in drawing the attention of the nation towards the problems being faced by the farmers in the State.
Describing the Kiran Kumar Reddy's government as weak, Naidu said that it survived only because of support it got from the PRP and MIM MLAs. He said that there was no need for the TDP to come to power through indirect route and the party would always respect the people’s verdict.
Naidu also denied allegations levelled by YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy that TDP focused its debate more on former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy than the farmers' issue. (INN)
2012/4/10 8:52:09 Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath on Tuesday came down heavily on Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu for targeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy over the power tariff issue.
Talking to media persons, Sailajanath said that Chandrababu Naidu was unnecessarily raising the power tariff issue to get mileage on it despite the hike was minor with a little impact on consumers. He said that the Chief Minister conducted a review meeting with the officials concerned and directed them to exempt the farmers and poorer sections from the tariff hike.
The minister said that the government’s decision to give an additional subsidy of Rs 175 crore would benefit 135 lakh power consumers out of 243.6 lakh. He said that the consumers who consume less than 100 units would get benefitted from the decision. He alleged that Naidu was pressing this issue repeatedly with an eye on the by-elections.
Sailajanath said that there was a lot of difference between the style of functioning of Kiran Kumar Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu. He alleged that Naidu was quite desperate to return to power and lost his mental balance for the same reason. (INN)
2011/11/6 4:07:10 Senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday demanded that the oil marketing companies release a white paper on their expenditure and income since 2008 as they are increasing the price of petrol frequently burdening common man.
Talking to media persons at a private hotel in the city, Venkaiah Naidu expressed serious concern over the hikes in petrol prices as it has been burdening the poor and middleclass, who are already affected due to skyrocketing of essential commodities.
Despite the oil marketing companies earning thousands of crores of income, they are resorting to increase in the prices of petrol and burdening the people, he stated. As the Centre expressed its inability to control prices of petrol due to fluctuation of crude price in international market, he alleged the oil marketing companies resorting to indiscriminate hike in petrol prices.
Naidu said that the oil marketing companies have earned Rs 1,29,200 crore through frequent increase in prices of petrol, so far. Though the rate of crude oil in the international market has come down, the oil marketing companies are resorting to hike in petrol prices. He called upon allies in United Progressive Alliance government to mount pressure on government to roll back prices or withdrew their support to the government if it fails to revoke its decision. He said that the BJP would grill the government in winter session of parliament over the hike in petrol prices.
Naidu demanded that the government set up a proper regulatory mechanism to monitor the prices of crude in international market. Though the government increased interest rate 13 times, the inflation rate has not come down, he said and added that this exposes how the UPA government has been making efforts to control prices of essential commodities. The move by Babu to make it a big issue has now fizzled out with the PM giving him an appointment today at 6.00 pm.

Addressing an election campaign at Rayadurgam in Anantapur district, the Chief Minister said that while Chandrababu Naidu became Chief Minister by back-stabbing his father-in-law N T Rama Rao, Jagan is trying to become Chief Minister by back-stabbing the Congress party.

2011/7/29 8:49:05 We can see a power hungry politician in Karnataka Chief Minister Yedurappa. Although, he was found guilty in illegal land mining cases, and was asked by his party high command to step down from his chair, he is not ready to quit his post until now, instead he is dictating terms to them.
Soon after he returns from New Delhi, he has gathered some MLAs in his support and takes ‘U’ turn over his resignation. He is demanding the party high command to install the CM and cabinet of his choice, otherwise he is not going to step down.
The 20-25 MLAs support that he got makes him raise his voice. He has given three names of his close aides-Sadhanand Goud, VN Acharya and Sobha Karandhaleje for CM post. He is also opposing the party choice Jagadish Setter and Ananta Kumar for CM post. Currently, senior BJP leaders Rajnath Singh and Venkayya Naidu are negotiating with Yedurappa.

No Trust notice a charade, Babu fixed match with Kiran: Ambati
2011/6/4 9:45:30
Accusing Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu of having failed to discharge his responsibility as the Leader of the Opposition, YSR Congress Party spokesman Ambati Rambabu on Saturday alleged that the former chief minister had ‘fixed the match’ with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to force his party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy to reveal his strength.
Talking to media persons at Sagar Society, Mr Rambabu alleged that Mr Naidu totally failed in discharging responsibilities as Leader of the Opposition and had conspired with Congress government to expose the strength of Y S R Congress MLAs during the elections for Speaker and Deputy speaker’s posts.
Responding to the No Confidence Motion Notice given by the TDP on farmers’ issues, Mr Rambabu said that Mr Naidu’s commitment towards farmers is suspect and the only reason he could have introduced the Motion was to target Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and to get political mileage.
Reacting on fielding of TDP candidate for Speaker and Deputy Speaker’s posts, violating a long standing tradition, Mr Rambabu said that it was a ploy by Mr Naidu to display the Congress strength to Mr Jaganmohan Reddy.
“Mr Naidu is more or less acting like he is on the Congress team. He is unable to manage the TDP and one day, he would merge his party in the Congress on the lines of Praja Rajyam Party leader K Chiranjeevi,” Mr Rambabu stated.
He alleged that both Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP leader Naidu enacting a drama to save their positions to get political mileage on issues.
2012/1/30 15:45:31 YSR Congress Party leader Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy on Monday said that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu’s statement that if he came to power his party would destroy all statues of the late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy might have provoked the desecration of Dr B R Ambedkar’s statues.
Talking to media persons at YSR Congress party office here, Mr Govardhan Reddy condemned the desecration of statues and demanded that the government nab the perpetrators instead of leveling charges against commoners.
Suspecting a wide conspiracy behind these acts, he said that only a thorough probe would reveal who the real culprits were. He took a serious note of the fact that Anti Corruption Bureau was not taking any action against Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana despite his alleged links with liquor syndicate.
Instead of arresting small fish, the ACB should catch big sharks involved in the liquor scam, he said. (INN)
2011/12/19 1:38:14 Legislative Council Whip Y Siva Rami Reddy on Sunday slammed Telugu Desam party president N Chandrababu Naidu for launching malicious campaign against the Rajiv Yuva Kiranalu programme launched by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. People will never believe Babu’s defence: Purandareswari
2011/5/30 4:49:49
Reacting sharply to the explanation offered by Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on why he had dethroned his father-in-law NT Rama Rao, Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development D Purandareswari on Monday stated that the people of the state will not believe Mr Naidu’s words.
Talking to media persons after participating in a programme here, Ms Purandareswari questioned why the people of Andhra Pradesh would believe Mr Naidu.
“No one would believe Mr Naidu, who cheated his own father-in-law and party founder NT Rama Rao. Why should anyone believe him? He is simply trying to fool the people with his cheap tricks at the Mahanadu. The people are observing him keenly,” the Union Minister of State said.
Ms Purandareswari, NT Rama Rao’s daughter who parted ways with the TDP after his death and joined the Congress, further wondered why Mr Naidu had demanded Bharat Ratna, the Nation’s highest award for civilians, for the TDP’s founder, at this time.
“Why did he not demand the Bharat Ratna at the time was playing a key role in the National Democratic Alliance government at the Centre and being the Chief Minister in the state? Why did he forget NTR then?” she questioned.
Mr Naidu’s words on the reason for dethroning NTR can never be believed, she said.
Reacting on the threats issued by a section of leaders that they would introduce No Confidence Motion against the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government, Ms Purandareswari rubbished these claims and said that there was no threat to his government.
“The Kiran Kumar Reddy government would continue its term up to 2014,” she made it clear.
2011/10/31 8:08:26 Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday stated that small political parties have no locus standi to advise major opposition parties on what they should do.
Interacting with students at a TV program in private channel in Guntur, the TDP president said that the TDP would take a decision on the issue of moving a No Confidence Motion against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy Government in the Assembly after having a thorough discussion in the party forum. While referring to the YSR Congress party, he said that it was a 'small' party and therefore, it lacks broader approach to different issues. Taking a dig at YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy, he said that the party should not advise other parties on introducing No Confidence Motion, when it itself has just one member in the Assembly.
However, Naidu said that both UPA Government and Congress led Kiran Kumar reddy government have lost moral right to continue in power for their failure on all fronts. He said that the TDP would take up a unique `Rythu Pora Bata’ programme from November 2 to focus its attention on the farmers’ problems in view of indifferent and negligent attitude of the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government in the state.
The MPs of TDP will also demand for a separate budget for agriculture in the winter session of the Parliament, the TDP president said. (INN)
