The YSR Congress party on Thursday alleged the House Committee on land allotments, which was constituted by Speaker Nandendla Manohar on Wednesday, was aimed at defaming former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
Talking to reporters at the YSR Congress party office here, MLC Jupudi Prabhakar said that the committee has been constituted to specifically target the allotments done during the regime of YSR. He said that was the reason why the committee was given generic terms of reference. He suspected that the committee would defame YSR and Jagan Mohan Reddy in an organised manner.
However, Jupudi alleged that the committee was constituted to divert the attention from the liquor syndicate expose. (INN)
The brother of Routu Surya Prakash Rao the Congress MLA from Rajahmundry town, Routu Venkateswara Rao has joined YSR Congress party in the presence of the party president YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday. He said that he got attracted to Jagan because of his interest towards people, especially downtrodden. A large number of Venkateswara Rao followers also joined YSR Congress party at the same.
Addressing the huge meeting held at Ramachandrapuram in East Godavari district, Jagan said if he comes to power he will convert all the municipal schools into English medium schools. He asks the party cadres to work like soldiers for the victory of the party in the upcoming by-elections. He described the by-elections as the sign of general elections to be held at 2014.
2011/11/24 15:09:05 Congress MLA Anan Vivekananda Reddy on Thursday said that the party would not allow Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to return to the Congress party.
Talking to reporters at the Congress Legislature Party office, Anam said that the party would not welcome Jagan's re-entry into Congress party, under any circumstances. However, he said the possibilities of Jagan returning to Congress are weak. He said the Congress MLAs who joined the YSR Congress party could return to the parent party anytime.
Anam said that Jagan has started losing the faith of legislators who joined him after leaving the Congress party. He said previously about 30 MLAs were supporting the YSR Congress party. The number has now reduced to 20 MLAs. He said the number could reduce to just 10 in the next few days.
The Congress MLA appreciated the performance of N Kiran Kumar Reddy as the Chief Minister in the last one year. He expressed hope that Kiran Kumar Reddy would complete his full term. (INN)
The congress party wants the photo of late chief minister YSR removed from the flag of the YSR Congress party of Jagan. The congress party has made an oral complaint to the state election commission.
However, the SEC has asked the congress party to give a complaint in writing. The congress leaders say that the present government is YSR government and the schemes that are being implemented are YSR schemes.
The Jagan camp is however not going to sit idle on this issue. It will make a big issue out of it and will even approach the court in case the EC asks it to remove the photo of YSR from the party flag.

2011/11/20 12:03:48 All India Congress Committee secretary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar on Sunday hailed the decision of party MLAs who have decided to return to the Congress party from the YSR Congress camp.
Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office, Ponguleti said that the decision of MLAs to join the YSR Congress was hasty. However, they have now realised their mistake and are returning to Congress, he said adding that it would be an 'honourable' re-entry for all the MLAs. 2011/12/3 15:52:46 Telugu Desam Party Deputy Floor Leader Gali Muddu Krishnama Naidu on Saturday called upon the YSR Congress Party and Telangana Rashtra Samiti members to support the No Confidence Motion against the Kiran Kumar Reddy Government.
Talking to media persons at Assembly's Media Point, Gali said that the YSR Congress and TRS members, who dared the TDP to introduce the no trust motion, have to prove their sincerity by supporting it in the House. 2011/12/20 17:31:28 Congress MLA Adala Prabhakar Reddy on Tuesday appealed to the Pradesh Congress Committee to finalise the list of aspirants for the by-elections in the 24 constituencies which are likely to fall vacant due to the disqualification of MLAs.
Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office, Adala said that the PCC should hold consultations with District In-Charge Ministers and other local leaders to select the candidates who have good prospects of winning the by-elections. He said the party has no differences on the selection of aspirants for the by-elections and they would be selected with consensus.
Sarvepalli MLA said that the party would go for the election campaign with the schemes launched during the tenure former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Cong by-polls campaign after release of candidates' list
2012/2/26 2:51:44 Rajahmundry, Feb 26 (INN): Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Sunday said that the Congress party would launch its official campaign for the by-elections to be held on March 18 only after the announcement of official candidates.
Talking to reporters here, Botsa said that he would participate in the campaign after discussing the same with Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. He said the party leaders would convince people that only Congress party could give Telangana State. He hoped that the people would vote for Congress party based on the performance of State Government and its welfare programmes.
Botsa also accused Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu of resorting to personal attacks on Congress leaders in the State Legislative Assembly in order to get publicity.
Regarding the rebel MLAs, the PCC chief hoped that Speaker Nadendla Manohar would soon take a decision on the fate of 17 MLAs who joined the YSR Congress party.
Later, addressesing a road show in Polavaram, he said that the Congress party was trying to get National Project status for the Polavaram project. He also predicted that he Polavaram constituency would soon witness by-election due to the disqualification of rebel MLA S Babu Rao, now with YSR Congress party.

Gali asks Cong to hasten action against rebel MLAs
2011/12/9 12:53:29 The Telugu Desam Party on Friday asked the Congress party to explain as to when it would take action against its 16 MLAs who defied the whip in favour of YSR Congress party.
Addressing a press conference at the NTR Trust Bhavan, TDP deputy floor leader Gali Muddukrishanna Naidu suspected that the Congress might spare the rebel MLAs to avoid by-elections in the respective constituencies. He said that the Congress party should hasten the process of disqualification of its rebel MLAs, if it was serious.
Muddukrishnamma Naidu said that the TDP would sweep the by-elections as the people were fed up with the politics of both the Congress and YSR Congress party.
The TDP leader also alleged that the Central Bureau of Investigation probe into the alleged illegal assets of Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has slowed down ever since he visited Delhi. He suspected that Jagan might broker a fresh deal with the Congress party using the rebel MLAs. In order to avoid or win the by-polls, the Congress might loosen the CBI's noose around Jagan in illegal assets case, he said. (INN)
2012/4/24 8:07:36 Hyderabad, April 24 (INN): Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Tuesday condemned the suspension of eight Congress MPs from the Lok Sabha for four days for stalling the proceedings over Telangana issue.
Talking to reporters at the State Secretariat, TRS MLA K Tarakarama Rao said that it was unfortunate that the ruling party has suspended its own MPs for raising the Telangana issue in the Parliament. He said if the Congress party continues to treat the Telangana MPs in a similar way, then people would 'suspend' the ruling party in 2014 elections.
However, the Sircilla MLA asked the Congress MPs to spell out their stand on the statehood issue. He said if the Congress MPs fail to clarify their stand clearly, then people would deem that their suspension from the Lok Sabha for four days was a political drama.
YSR Cong politicising Ambedkar's statue, alleges Congress
2012/5/12 3:58:01 Hyderabad, May 12 (INN): Medical Education Minister Kondru Murali Mohan on Saturday demanded unconditional apology from YSR Congress party leaders for lodging a complaint with the Election Commission against T Subbarami Reddy, Congress candidate from Nellore Lok Sabha constituency, for promising to install the statues of Dr B R Ambedkar.
Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, Murali Mohan demanded that the YSR Congress party leaders immediately withdraw their complaint. If they fail to change their attitude, he said that the Dalits in the state would not vote in favour of YSR Congress party.
Stating that Subbarami Reddy has not violated the Model Code of Conduct by promising installation of Ambedkar's Statues, he said that Ambedkar was not a politician, but the architect of Indian constitution. Everyone is free to install Ambedkar statues anywhere in the country, he said.
The minister said that YSR Congress party leaders politicizing the Ambedkar statue’s issue to get mileage in the ensuing by-elections.
2011/8/8 9:47:36 Regardless of the fact that Congress president Sonia Gandhi will not be present to witness the event, Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi will complete the formalities of the long pending merger by taking the membership of the Congress party in New Delhi on August 20.
According to highly placed sources, Mr Chiranjeevi will take the membership of Congress party on August 20 in the presence of All India Congress Committee general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
Following Mr Chiranjeevi formally joining the Congress fold, the PRP MLAs will join the Congress party on August 22 in the presence of Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana at Gandhi Bhavan.
With Ms Sonia Gandhi away from New Delhi due to her surgery for an undisclosed ailment, the party sources said that Mr Chiranjeevi decided to go ahead with the merger of his party in the presence of Mr Rahul Gandhi to avoid further delay.
Earlier, Sonia Gandhi wrote a letter to Chiranjeevi inviting him to come to New Delhi between August 7 and 10 to complete the long pending merger process.
The formal merger between the two parties had been getting delayed on one account or the other. Mr Chiranjeevi had announced his desire to merge his party with the Congress on February 6, 2011, less than three years of forming the Praja Rajyam Party. (INN)
