YSR Cong slams media for anti-Jagan stories

YSR Congress party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao on Sunday accused the media of misusing the freedom of expression and publishing false reports against Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Talking to media persons at YSR Congress party office, he said that a section of media has engaged all its energies to tarnish the image of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He alleged that anti-Jagan news reports were part of a conspiracy hatched by Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu. Quoting a media report, he asked the media to disclose the sources who claimed that Jagan would be arrested in March month. He asked whether media got any tip offs from the CBI about Jagan's arrest. Further, he asked the media to explain as to how Jagan would lose people's sympathy after the arrest.

Ramchandra Rao said although the State Budget presented by Finance Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy was 'anti-people' and 'anti-welfare,’ the media did not carry any critical analysis. Instead, some publications have been carrying 'baseless' reports against Jagan Mohan Reddy to tarnish his image.

The YSR Congress party spokesperson also asked as to why the CBI was not responding to 'speculative' stories being published about its investigation in various cases.

Ramchandra Rao alleged that the TDP chief has launched this campaign using media to divert attention of people from the leaders of his party who were involved in liquor scam and due to by-elections in the Telangana region. He said that the people would lose faith on media if it continues anti-Jagan campaign shunning basic principles. (INN)

Naidu slams Cong, YSRC for spoiling TDP prospects

2012/5/23 8:17:30 Hyderabad, May 23 (INN): Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday slammed the Congress and YSR Congress party for making efforts to spoil the prospects of TDP in the state.

Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Naidu accused YSR Congress and Congress of hatching a political conspiracy to demolish the TDP and take political advantage of the uncertain political environment in the state.

Alleging that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Jagan Mohan Reddy had a match fixing to thwart the chances of TDP in the ensuing by-elections, Naidu asked as to why the CBI not arresting former government advisor K V P Ramachandra rao, who played crucial role in the accumulation of assets by Jagan.

He demanded the CBI to explain what action it has taken against Mallikarjuna reddy, the co-brother of YSR.

Naidu alleged that the CBI neglected the probe against KVP and Mallikarjuna Reddy due to intervention of Central leaders.

He said Jagan had deserted from the Congress only after he was denied the Chief Minister’s post and is now bargaining with Congress high command to stake his claim after showing his might of money and muscle power in the by-elections.

Ambati slams media baron for threat complaint

2012/3/9 21:48:12 YSR Congress Party on Friday said that the very same group which worked against YSR is trying to defame YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to gain some mileage in the ensuing by-election.

“The request of a media baron to provide security to him and his group of companies as he perceives threat following the possible arrest of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is nothing but a ploy to confuse Kovvur voters before the by-elections,” party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters here.

Ambati asked whether any attack was carried out against the media baron and his companies when his newspapers published stories against YS Rajasekhara Reddy during his five-year-and-three-month term. He said the allegations were creation of media baron to confuse the voters and try to deviate their attention, he said.

“In the first place the media man should first spell out as to where from did he get the news that Jagan would be arrested, which is the premise of his request to provide security. How did he foresee that there would be loss to his property? “he asked.

Ambati said that the move was sending a subtle message and was damaging. "Our party will not tolerate such unethical means," he said.

"The press should be asking why a person will be arrested instead of writing that someone will be arrested without showing any plausible evidence. Beyond that here is a person who feels a threat, perceived or otherwise, and seeks protection. The ploy is only to defame Jagan Mohan Reddy and try to gain some support on the eve of the by-elections," Ambati said.

Asserting that the party will get a resolute majority in Kovur, while the ruling Congress and opposition TDP are keenly contesting for minor placing in all the constituencies, he said, it was Kadapa and Pulivendula first, now the seven seats followed by 17 and the results would be the same for them.

He also took strong objection to the remarks of Chandrababu Naidu against YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said both the Congress and TDP would be cut to size in the by-elections. "A day will come when the truth of land allotments to the media baron will also come out and his turn of turmoil is in the offing. Neither TDP nor Congress or both the parties put together can save him when things come out into the open," he said. (INN)

Sailajanath said that the people of State would vote for Congress party seeing its good governance and welfare schemes implemented for the benefit of poor and middle class people. However, he said the main rivals for the Congress in the by-elections were the YSR Congress and Telugu Desam Party.

TDP trying to brand Jagan as anti-BC: YSR Cong

    2011/6/17 9:21:54

Accusing the Telugu Desam Party of trying to brand Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy as anti-BC, the YSR Congress Party on Friday said that its president has always advocated the implementation of 34 per cent quota for BCs for political parties.

YSR Congress Party spokesperson Bajireddy Govardhan Reddy told media persons at Sagar Society, the partys head office, that the statements made by Telugu Desam Party politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu are not only condemnable, they are an attempt to brand Mr Jaganmohan Reddy as anti-BC.

Mr Ramakrishnudu had said that the YSR Congress Party president has no commitment over reservations for Backward Classes in Local Body elections.

Mr Govardhan Reddy pointed out atht Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had blamed the state government of postponing the elections to Local Bodies with an intention to reduce reservation for Backward Class communities.

He further reminded that the YSR Congress Party chief had asked all political parties to implement 34 pc quota for BCs, apart from giving them chance in open category.

Mr Govardhan Reddy appealed to state government to convene an all-party meeting to resolve the issue of reservations for BCs in Panchayat Raj institutions.

He further advised the Telangana elected representatives to submit their resignations over separate statehood demand to the Assembly Speaker instead of issuing threatening statements in New Delhi.

CBI to present Sunil Reddy before court

2012/1/25 5:44:26 Sunil Reddy the close aide of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is now under CBI custody, will be presented before Nampally Court today. CBI told the media it has arrested him in connection Emmar properties.

Reacting on his arrest YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said, CBI is harassing him and friends in the name of interrogation. He alleges that TDP and Congress parties have joined hands to create troubles for him.

An article with a heading 'Instead of harassing like this why don't you shoot me at once?' was published in today edition of his Sakshi news paper, which indicates his frustration over CBI interrogations.

Especially, the stories being published and aired by his rival media groups not only creates pressure on him but also tarnishing Jagan's image. Perhaps, it is because of the success of Sakshi news might have impacted their businesses. But, what makes the two major political parties of the state Congress and TDP feel happy for this development?

Both these parties nowadays are suffering with many problems like dissidence and loosing grip in Telangana region etc. Unless, the media catch-up with some spicy news like Sunil Reddy's arrest, both these parties will remain a soft target for media. So, when the media shifted its focus on to Sunil and Jagan Mohan Reddy, it obviously give them a great relief.

At the same time, all these developments definitely creates some pressure on Jagan Mohan Reddy and force him to react on every arrest made by CBI, which again gives required stuff to his rivals.
