Sweet and Sour Vegetables

Ingredients for Sweet and Sour Vegetables:

Carrots (cut into rings) 100gms 

Beans (cut into 2'' long pieces) 75gms

Capsicum (cubed)  75gms

Pineapple 50gms

Cabbage (cut into big pieces) 75gms

Garlic 50gms

Ajinomoto 1/2 tps

Red color pinch

Salt to taste

Corn flour  (mixed with little water)  2 tbsp

Sugar 3 tsp

Chili sauce 1/4 tsp

Tomato sauce 2 tsp

Red Chili powder 1/4 tsp

Oil 50ml

 

Directions to cook Sweet and Sour Vegetables:

  • Cut the vegetables in diamond shapes and boil in water for 5 minutes. 
  • Heat 2tbsp oil in a pan, fry chopped garlic and cut vegetables for few minutes. 
  • Then add tomato sauce, red color, salt, sugar, chili sauce, chili powder, pineapple pieces and fry for 5 minutes. Add 4 cups of water and cook the vegetables till they boil but crunchy.
  • When boiling, add dissolved corn flour mixture to the vegetables and give it a boil till sauce thickens
  • The sauce thickens. Now add salt, Ajinomoto and mix well. 
  • Remove from heat.
  • The recipe is now ready to be served hot with fried rice.
  • (Other vegetables like cualiflower, spring onions can also be used for this recipe)
